"I see.. Wandering is always pleasant..." Sibalto was content just to walk along, for he enjoyed walking the river or through the forest. At times he missed the cities he had become accostumed to, for there were fewer people to snap at in a forest, but he enjoyed the tranquility.
Just as that thought danced through his mind, a whistle came to him on the wind. He reared and spun, facing back in the direction of the teepee, which he had avoided leading Firefly to. Another whistle, and not the usual call. Tashika was worried or upset.
"Lady Firefly, my two legger is calling.. If you would like to accompany me or stay here... I've no real objection, I just want to make sure she is well.." He rumbled, pawing at the ground, muscles bunching as he prepared to leap into a gallop. He wouldn't leave until he got her answer, but the need to run was strong.

Firefly's ears perked slightly as the whistle drifted into her range of hearing. She turned her head slightly in the direction it came from. Then she quickly turned her head to look at him, noticeing his change in attitude and how he was getting ready to run.
She didn't want to leave now, but his two legger was calling him. So quickly in her mind she made a descision. "I'll come with you....you might need some help..."

Sibalto nodded once and nosed her neck in silent thanks, springing into a gallop. He crossed the river in a flood of diamond rain, and then thundered up the opposite bank, coat and tail streaming. Glancing back once to see if she was with him, he galloped back the way they had come, whinnying loudly.
Tashika had been washing her things at the river. Crossing it to examine the blood on a tree and strands of silver, she worried that Sibalto had been harmed. After whistling for him, she had stumbled across a mad wolf who had obviously caught a Soquili unawares. She didn't know if he had killed, but the blood on his black muzzle made her back slowly into the water, and she worried as he followed.
((Sorry.. Had to throw her in there for a little bit! ^.~))

Firefly kept up easily. She was used to haveing to run as fast as she could. Though she was a little more careful as she crossed the river and followed him. Her long tail trailed behind her, whipping back and forth as the muscles in her legs flexed and strained as she ran.

Sibalto didn't slow at the sight of the wolf, merely leapt into the river and went after it. The beast was lean and scraggly, obviously unhealthy. It ran as the silver stallion struck out at it, and Sib chased it until he was sure it was heading for the distant hills. He turned around, nickering to his human and wading into the river so she could climb onto his back.
Tashika murmured her thanks and stroaked his nose, leaping nimbly onto his back and clinging to him as he moved through the strong current to the other side. She blinked in surprise at the lovely dark coated mare, and then scratched at his neck.
Sibalto nosed Firefly's shoulder, rumbling gently. "Thank you for comming along Lady Firefly, even though you had no true cause. This is my caretaker, Tashika."
Tashika slipped to the ground and reached for a basket just outside of the teepee, withdrawing an apple and offering it to Firefly as a token of peace or friendship. She smiled reassuringly.

Firefly stopped at the edge of the water as she watched him chase the wolf off. She has never encountered a wild wolf before, being used to the silly antics of Mingan, watching the shagged wolf behave the way it was was quite new to her.
As he nosed her shoulder, she smiled lightly and nodded her head. "Anytime..." Her attention turned to Tashika, curiosity peeking as the two legger reached into a basket. And what did you know? She pulled out an apple. Typical, but Firefly loved apples anyways. Leaning her head out, she sniffed at the apple a moment, eyeing it carefully before gently takeing it between her teeth from the girl's hand and nibbling on it lightly.

Tashika smiled and turned her attention to Sibalto, running her hands down his forelegs to make sure he hadn't sustained any scratches from the wolf. She picked up his front hooves and glanced in them for stones, probing at the soft underside.
The dappled stallion took it in good grace, leaning down to snag and tug at a lock of her silver hair before releasing it and looking skyward, eyes angelic. He glanced at Firefly and smiled, looking for all the world like a foal when Tashika straightened.She shook her finger and muttered at him for tugging her hair, but rubbed his nose and grabbed an apple for him as well. Dissappearing into the teepee, she returned with he clean tack, and he glanced at Firefly as he finished his apple. What would she think of it?

Firefly smiled as she finished the apple. She watched at the two legger walked into the teepee then back out with some strange looking thing. Raiseing an eyebrow, she looked at it curiously then looked at Sibalto. What kind of weird torture device was this thing that the two legger carried? Her eyebrows furrowed lightly as she looked at it again, shivers running down her spine as to what it was used for.

Tashika set the saddle down next to the basket of apples and approached Sibalto with the bridle. The tall stallion lowered his head so she could reach, paying no real mind as the bit was slipped into his mouth and buckles closed. Tashika slid the reins over his head and they caught at his shoulders.
Sibalto glanced at Firefly once the bridle was in place, ingoring Tashika as she went back for the saddle. "My adornments, such as they are." He rumbled by way of explanation.

Firefly blinked and stepped towards him, an ever more curious look on her face as she looked it over carefully. Her ears perking forward as he spoke. She flicked her tail slightly before she spoke. "What are they for really? And do they hurt?" She wasn't sure how to address this situation as she had never confronted something like this.

Sibalto bowed his head so she could inspect the leather and brass bridle. He was amused by her confusion, but tried to explain it as best he could. "It helped my old two legger direct where she wanted me to go, they call it a bridle.. Tashika is holding the saddle, it helps the twolegger stay on my back.."
He glanced at the Indian maiden, who was making a last adjustment to the saddle, and then faced Firefly. "No, they don't hurt.. I'm used to it.."

She kept looking at the things the two legger had put on him. They were strange and new to her. It helped the two leggers direct him and stay on his back? She wasn't sure about this. Atsila, when Firefly let her, was able to stay on her back and tell her were to go without these strange looking contraptions. "They just look....different. I mean...they don't look bad, but I really don't see why a two legger would need them."

Sibalto gave a shrug. "They don't really I suppose, at least not here.. But back home, there wasn't a single horse without them.. It was just, normal.."
Tashika called Sibalto's attention to her and spoke to him in a broken version of his language, and when he nodded, she smiled and murmured assent, dissappearing into the teepee with the saddle.
Sibalto glanced back at Firefly and smiled. "She asked me if I was going to wander, and I said yes... So she is keeping the saddle for now... Though she'd rather I wore the bridle, and I will.."
He shook his head slightly, bridle jingling. "If you like we can return to our walk."

Firefly watched as Tashika made her way back into the teepee, still a little confused by it all, but it was starting to settle in. Her attention turned back to Sib and she smiled lightly nodding her head. "Yes, returning to our walk would be a nice change from the confusion."

Sibalto chuckled and began leading her down the riverside again. "Surely it is not so bad? Not really something you have to think about.. Tis merely the way my world worked, while your's is partial to feathers and warpaint."
He smiled. "Though I am flattered you would try and understand such things..."
