"Fiend!" She shrieked, leaping away for a moment. She was giggling when she pranced back to his side, and gave a simple nod. "All right you Rogue, a kiss... But you'll have to beat me to get it!" She agreed, and with bell-like laugh, she sprang away, racing for the tall acacia.

Afu was struck for a moment, before he raced after her, matching his pace with hers. "You run like the wind, Issa." He said breathily, almost stuggling to keep up with her. He was saving his energy for a last sprint, when they were closer to the target.

Issaria laughed. "Thank you!" She had always been running.. Moving, trying to get ahead of her siblings and keep going, never looking back. She wanted to move to another Pride, start a new life.. Run.. Free and Wild.. She wanted to live. But she couldn't get away from the Pride, yet. So she raced.

"It seems as though you run away from something..." He did not look at her as he spoke, but kept his eyes focused on the goal. Afu could feel his muscles bunching and releasing as he broke his pace and began to run a little faster. He shouldn't speak, he knew he was wasting oxygen that his muscles needed, but he enjoyed Issa's voice. It was... soothing to him.

Glancing at him, Issaria let him gain a bit of an edge of her, keeping even with his haunches. She wouldn't waist energy to stay ahead of him when she could let him waist his own to stay ahead of her. "Not yet." She replied. Although soon, soon she would be. She'd leave her father's pride as soon as she got the chance, but for now... Now she wanted to win this race, sort of...

"Not yet?" He stole a glance at her. "What, may I inquire, is that supposed to mean?" His pace was steady, even, and he knew he could save his energy to sprint ahead... the question was... would he let himself win?

Issaria slowed slightly, blinking at him for a moment. Shaking her head, she picked up speed again. "It means I want to leave my father's Pride.. And as soon as I get the chance, I'm going to." She wanted to run, away from this race, away from the Pride Lands she felt like a prisoner within, to a Pride that would love and accept her.. Perhaps a lion that would love her as much as her mother and father seemed to love each other... Perhaps more. But all of it was a far off dream.

Afu stared at her, wondering why she would want that, of course, he himself wanted it too, but Issa seemed fragile, and delicate... Of course for Afu, he wasn't apying attention to where he was going, and tripped on an overturned stone. "Oof." He grunted as he went head over heels, literally.

Issaria dug in her heels, sliding to a stop and spinning around, she ran back to where Afu had tripped, and nuzzled him gently. "Are you alright?" She asked, slightly winded from their run. The 'finish line' was quite close, but she could continue the race- or stop and laugh- until she was sure he was not hurt.

Afu laughed, trying to hide the heat rising in his face as she nuzzled him, convincing himself there was nothing more to the gesture than caring and friendship. "I'm just fine, Issaria." he said as he got to his feet. "Just a little clumsy, thats all." He glanced to the tree. "So close, and yet, so far... Perhaps we should walk?"

Issaria grinned and nodded. "Yes, a walk seems in order.." She gave him a sly look. "It will be much harder for those sneaky rocks to leap into your path and trip you, will it not, my fine friend?" With a flick of her tail she began pacing forward, letting her muscles relax from the run.

Afu gave a goofy grin, embarassed by his fall as he trotted up next to her. "Indeed, it will be much more difficult..." He was now watching carefully where his paws fell. "I suppose this means we tied..."

Issaria gave a silken laugh. "Well, I suppose it does.. Yes... We're tied.. Does that mean we both win?" She tilted her head and smiled, an idea forming in her head. "Do we both get to request a prize?"

After thinking for a moment, Afu nodded. "I suppose it's only fair..." He grinned, "What would you ask of me, my dear princess?"

Issaria gave a silken laugh, winking. "I would race you again one day, perhaps when we are both grown, and see who wins..." She gave a smile. "Do you accept? It is a challenge, My Prince.."
