It took a moment for everything to sink in. She stumbled backwards out of Alec's grasp, clutching her neck and trying to get the throbbing pain to stop. She watched dumbly as Moreau started to beat on Alec, her brain whirling and trying to figure out exactly what was happening. She had never seen Moreau physically attack someone, and it was a bit unnerving.

"Nicky!" she finally called after a moment, rushing forward and flinging her arms around him. It was half out of relief and the need to feel him, and half out of fear of him doing something rash, like killing Tommy in a fit of range. She pulled back on him, trying to get him to look at her.

Moreau jabbed the needle into the ground between Alec's underarm. He pushed down on it releasing the toxic cleaning solutions into the dirt. Ignoring Aubrey for the moment he stood up and kicked Tommy in the ribs as hard as he could. After kicking him four times or so he turned back towards Aubrey.

"Let's go..." he said quietly, angerly, and headed to the jeep.

Kaveri Porter

Kaveri lurched forward to rant some more, but before another indignant string of words could fire out of her mouth, she... stopped. The tingle of electricity surged through her body, and she felt herself go involuntarily limp as she leaned heavily on her walking stick -- it was all that was there to support her from otherwise toppling over.

She watched as the man with red hair violently beat onto Alec, much like rubbernecking a car crash -- only she couldn't look away, even if she wanted to.

It seemed strange to call someone who just beat down two monster men into the dirt 'Nicky.'

Alec could hear the heavy steps walking away, Aubrey's cries hardly heard over teh pounding in his ears. Blood was trickling down his face and into the crevaces of his eyes. What he'd give to be able to wipe them off at least.

Wha ta complete and utter failure. What had gone wrong? Was it HIS fault? Hell, he'd done everything Tommy'd said, what more could he have done?! What a mess, what a complete downslide. What the hell was going to happen to them now...

With the words Let's go, he fooled himself into thinking it was over and waited feutilly to see if they'd let him go.

The only reaction Tommy gave from Moreau's violent kicks were the rush of air from his lungs and a sharp crack as one or more of his ribs break. From Tommy's vantage point, he can only watch the footsteps of his would-be victim turned tormentor walk off with Aubrey. The pain in his chest throbbed and he knew something was wrong as he felt a dribble of blood drip out of his mouth and quickly become soaked up into the dirt.

Aubrey stood there, stupidfied. She watched Moreau storm off towards the keep, and the bleeding, helpless victems on the ground. Kav and Zach were watching, and a good sweep around she saw Amaya as well.

She gave a sheepish look and swallowed. Moreau was scarey right now, but she didn't have much choice.

"Yes sir," she said meekly, still holding her neck, and followed after him, scooping a cowering Ein into her arms as she did.

Zach continued to waver where he was, rapidly losing interest in trying to fight a losing battle against whatever Moreau had done and hoping that it would not last much longer. If it wasn't for his tail, he'd have toppled over flat on his face already.

As for whatever he'd seen, he wasn't sure what to think. They'd got what was obviously coming to them for what they'd done. The island was inescapable, as it had always been. They did look like they needed some help, though.

Moreau put his arm around Aubrey as she got into the jeep, a wicked smile on his face as he did. If he didn't know himself better, he'd swear he enjoyed that.

As Moreau drove off with Aubrey the duration on the paralysis began to wear off. Since it was programmed into the chips so quickly and haphazardly it left the victims twitching as their muscle control came back... even in the days that followed they would likely have involentary muscle spasms, numbness, or loss of movement in their limbs.

Moreau would make it back to the labs with Aubrey, and tomorrow, after he got a good night's rest he would work out Mr. Christian and Mr. Derring's punishment.

Amaya Vaughan

As everything began to wear off, Amaya's legs twitched and gave out - slamming her to the ground. With a "OOF!" her body twitched and spasmed on it's own. But she'd get to Alec. She had to.

She forced herself to a stand and practically tripped and crawled her entire way to the other teen's side. "Alec! Oh god Alec..." Lifting him up by his shoulders, she hugged him to her scaley chest. The girl wanted nothing more then to be able to cry.

Just as the jeep drove away Alec's fingers began to twitch, the rush of adrenaline from his shark-like senses were bringing him back faster than he'd expected. He knew the feeling was regained in his limbs once he began unknowingly and slowly writhing in pain.

He couldn't hear Amaya at all, it seemed. Her words and even her touch were lost in a jumble of information being inputted to his brain. He was nearly unconscious from blood loss when a slit of white membrane covering his eyes. Something was holding him and he could smell and taste the blood. He did the first thing that came natural. With a turn of his neck, he tried to sink his teeth into the first thing nearby.

Tommy lays there frozen for a moment more, a small amount of blood still dripping out of his mouth. His entire body was wracked with pain, yet he could do nothing. And then he realized his shallow breathing breathing was becoming more ragid, and his fingers twitched. Worst of all though, was that anywhere he tried to move a radiating pain almost paralyed him again.

The beaten cadet gives out a low moan as the pain keeps coming. He gingerly clutches at his midsection and his eyes go wide as he feels the need to cough.

Which just happened to be Amaya's arm. But thankfully he had so little teeth left in his mouth all she felt was a small pinch. "Ah!" She squeaked, slowly pulling her arm away. Thank the skies for tough scales. "Alec! Hey!"

One of her large hands reached up, the back of it whipping away some of the blood from his face. "Lookit me, Alec!"

She glanced over at the other man, but only briefly. Her main concern right now was just getting the teen back to reality and bandaged up.

It wore off innocently enough at first. He could move his fingertips, his eyes, one or two toes even. But as the shock wore off completely, muscles seemed overeager to compensate for their short lockup and catapulted him to the ground, right on his scaly stomach. They didn't stop.

It seemed the way he fell had banged his right elbow, giving the whole arm that funny no-nerves feeling to it. When he finally raised himself up on his jittery left arm, he tried to flex right fingers as an assurance that they were all still there and still working. No response. Everything up to the shoulder had gone completely numb and unmoving. He swallowed hard. That... that shouldn't have happened. Amaya was moving around with only the twitching stopping her!

His left arm gave another hard spasm and the front of him dropped back to the ground again. He tried to get up, again and again, but couldn't. His legs and feet wouldn't stay still long enough to stand. His tail and wings didn't help, being extra muscles that wouldn't behave. And his right arm was just as motionless as ever, hitting him with a pang of dread.

Kaveri was around somewhere - he thought he'd heard her voice, but he hadn't seen her. It reoccured to him he was as bald as Amaya, and blood rushed to his face, tinting it a red only a shade off of his "normal" skin tone. He had to find her, though. As soon as he could move without shaking like he was in below-zero weather.

Despite being pushed off his jaw hold on Amaya, the boy now thinking too much like a tiger shark only persisted. Rolling weakly to his stomach, he seemed to give up trying to stand and reached blindly with his hands to hold down her arm with an unfriendly grip.

He tried again to take a bite, a sharp and gurgling hiss emitted from his throat as loose, jagged teeth ran down his animalistic chin in the flow of blood. Her scales were tough and he had no means to do any more damage than to barely break skin, but he couldn't stop himself from definetly trying.

And Tommy begins coughing. With every convulsion and every cough, Tommy's pain intensifies a hundred-fold. The only thing the tortured bat-man can do is clutch at his broken ribs while writhing in pain.
