Immaculate Stone Hendrix doesn't excell in one category more than any other guitarist. You're right. I enjoy his playing, however, his main contribution is simply in the massive influence he's had on rock, blues, and jazz musicians.

Chuck Berry is enourmously famous. He came out about the same time as Elvis.

Immaculate Stone Chuck Berry is enourmously famous. He came out about the same time as Elvis. As I said, I've heard his name a few times, but not anything else about him. And yes, I know about him coming out around the same time as Elvis. (now, I did some research) Any particular albums you can suggest?

Well, I say Pete Townshend popularized it. Then Angus copied it. And Berry was also Hendrix's biggest influence. I always remember Pete for the windmill more than anything else. But yes, Chuck Berry was very influential for many guitarists, but so was Hendrix. I don't think it's possible to decide between just us which was more influential, you'd have to leave that up to all of the guitarists in the world and their sounds.

For making people want to play,Hendrix Berry did a bit more than that, because he was the one who essentially set up the basis for rock and roll, musically. Without him later rock bands like the Beatles, etc. wouldn't have been around, so I'd say he did make people want to play, too.
