*Luke goes to try to get up. He gets about half way and is up on his elbows. That's as far as he gets for now.*
Yeah. Yeah, cuz I was gonna sit here anyway. Nice view, airconditioning... *Luke peels off the headgear.*

*Bard starts to rise. He's glad to see Luke is strong enough to stand. He's not so sure he's got the same stamina. Pride, and the familiar tightening in his gut pushes him to rise though.*
I'd like that... but.. I might have to... *he heaves himself up on his feet with a groan* ... take a raincheck.

hrmm.. *Bard rests his hand on his gut* To be honest the one time I took someone to my time, we just sort of slipped back. When Maggie's taken me back, I think she's had to focus on it.
Let's get my clothes and then we can worry about getting back.

*Luke's eyebrows go up. He hadn't worried about any of that crap. He'd been so ready to pound someone's face in, that he hadn't even thought of going back.*
Slipped back, huh? *A brief look of pain crosses Luke's face as he climbs out of the ring and back down. He walks carefully.* So the Brink decides when you come back from -here- too.

I don't really know. *Bard climbs out of the ring and follows Luke back to the registration desk* I suspect that it's like a rubber band. The farther you stretch it, the more it wants to snap back. I would guess that if it got stretched far enough, it'd slip and snap back on its own..
Or....

*Luke's thinking about it now. At first, he thought Tavin had control of it, but the last time he saw Tavin he was two steps away from his death bed. But the Seraphim said.... Well.... Well, Luke would be a moron to trust what that a*****e has to say.*
*asks Bard* Who actually controls the Brink? I mean, I've met Tavin. But the last time I saw him he didn't look like he had anything under control.

I've been trying to figure that out since I started coming to the Brink. At first, I thought it was random chance, and then I thought it might be Tavin.
Now, I think it's something else. Maybe it is God...

*God... He thinks it with not a little bit of contempt. Luke's not so sure what he thinks about God these days. When he was younger, it was so much simplier. If you were good, God turned water into wine and gave you a sports car. If you were bad, you got toasted by lightning.*
