The Great Sabbats of Wicca are Imbolc=Feb2nd, Ostara=Spring Equinox, Beltain=May1st, Midsummer Eve=Summer Solstice, Lughnasadh=Aug1st, Mabon=Autumn Equinox, Samhian=OCTOBER 31..... scream gonk scream , YULE=DECEMBER21.... scream gonk scream . most of the dates vary around the lunar month and the solar year. This has been known scince before the burning times.....(look it up) also Wicca arguably predates Christianity. these Great Sabbats are Celebrations and Hollidays for the different seasons that glorify the Lord and Lady. Samhain was turned into Halloween by the Roman Catholic Church to make it more appealing to the ("Native Heathens"....our ancestors and founding fathers from the times before any Englishman could taint the true history if the Irish Celtic History) Sadly you are goin to try and disprove this....but that doesn't matter because it's what I personally believe and I have done my history to prove it to my satisfaction....but i'm not ignorant like you....that may be a harsh thing to say, but sadly in my opinion it fits. Mainly because of your blatant disregard for those who have different opinions and views........ohh and by the way communion was taken by christianity from wicca, I.E. "The Cake and Ale Rite" after all the magickal rites and rituals are done you have cake and ale to replace the energy you spent in your workings. it could be any starchy food and any beverage....depending on your tradition. Cake and Ale=Bread and WaterWine i truly wish that someday you can open your mind to the idea of tolerance....you make me sad... crying crying crying

p.s. I love you 2 jess xd xd xd wink

a..well its not really.. celtic irish history. i think it would jsut be caleld celtic history, but i mayeb be mistaken. correct me if i'm wrong boyo. but yeah. more power to you as well.
thank you and i'm sorry for the over simplification....considering allt the varying groups that form all of celtic history i should have just said that.... gonk thank you though.

it's not just irish.....didn't we already go through this....or does somebody just not know how to listen to the words of others...I don't think we should jave to spell out every single reason why it's wrong to be closeminded. I mean did you not listen to me or gothie(...hope you don't mind me calling you that....couldn't remember your whole name.) those are celebrated by more than just irish people too....don't read into and try to decipher a religion that as far as i can tell you not only don't practice but probably don't understand...do some real research... i might suggest for starters: "Living Wicca: A Guide For The Solitary Practitioner" by Scott Cunningham, or just about anything from Gavin and Yvonne Frost....same goes for the Farrars...do some real research bofore saying what's what about my religion. i'm sorry if i seem short but i'm very tired of this...i'm a patient man but this is very annoying, you make me sad....i'm leaving this thread. pm me if you learn anything from the books....if you read them.......sad sad sad cry cry cry ohh well rofl rofl rofl

ok,we irish love our paddy's day and halloween but hate when we other countries celebrating our customs, particularally the americans.surely americans have their own traditions and customs other than thanksgiving.if foreigners wish to enjoy irish customs they should come to ireland to see them.50% of america cannot be irish-they are american, and 50% of americans with irish descent is impossible-look how tiny ireland is and how huge america is.

Umm what the hell are you talking about? Its not impossible for an American to have irish decent! My boyfriend is Irish! His mom is from Ireland. She lived there, grew up there, went to school there, she has an acsent. All of my boyfriends family is in Ireland. It is not a impossible to be an American and Irish. Ever heard of an Irish American? Immigration? Interracial marriages? hmmm....

America is a melting pot. You will find all types of cultures, customs, backgounds, languages and nationalities. Americans also celebrat Cinco de Mayo. Im Mexican and I don't get upset that Americans celebrate my custom. I think its cool. I also beleive that if you get offended that americans are celebrating other customs then you need to grow up. The world is changing and more customs and traditions are being shared with one other and I think that is awesome. If you think certain customs should only be shared with certain people in a certain place then you are closed minded.

Halloween is amazing! Im going to continue to celebrate it whether Ireland likes it or not. If you feel like celebrateing Cinco De Mayo, then go for it!
