"My body was created for this purpose. " I get the feeling that this so-called "Above Rubies" is trying to say that all women are merely baby-making factories... Especially when they say this: Quote: Above Rubies is a magazine to encourage women in their high calling as wives, mothers, and homemakers. Not to mention that they only seem to love "THE PRESHOUS WIDDLE BABEH" and not the older children... You know, I thought MY higher calling was somewhere along the lines of art, music, and computer science.... I feel SICK SICK SICK SICK SICK! I thought MY higher calling was to become a pediatrician and help these kids women like this are selfishly popping out! gonk

Wow - that list is pretty disturbing. It's fine if this women (assuming she actually is a woman, and not a man pretending to be a woman) feels that her children are a blessing from her God. Or that many of her friends do also. But I don't feel that way. Unlike my Sims, I can't choose to have sex for pleasure or try to get pregnant. I don't want to be pregnant, at least not at this point in my life. Neither I nor my boyfriend are ready to be parents. So if she wants to have a lot of crying little blessings, that is her choice. I hope she enjoys them and takes care of them well. But I don't want any babies. Also, I find it very strange that almost all of her reasons have to do with her God. So only Christians have reasons to enjoy being parents? That means that it's ok that I don't want to be a parent, since I'm not a Christian, right? I seriously had no idea that there were people that had children just because they like babies. That's the saddest thing ever. I guess they're suddenly not cared for anymore once they reach the preteens. confused
