death_verboten I have a suggestion. I got this idea from staring at bjd pics on flickr How about we make a game called "Guess the BJD" game? Basically we post a picture of a BJD, and we guess who his/her base is. It doesn't necessarily have to be your bjd, unless you never mentioned the base Then once someone guesses it right that's when one posts another picture for the guild to guess. This is pretty impulsive so if you like the idea but want to tweak the rules a bit that's fine. The people on the anime forum usually do this, but with anime screen shots. I just figured it could work here since it was one of the longest threads I saw on the AMC forum. I don't think there should be any prizes, because this is just for fun. What do you say? This seems like a pretty good idea, but it wouldn't be all that fun if people cheated or something. I mean, there are those of us who are new to this and wouldn't really know anything and then there are some people (*cough* me *cough*) who know more than would normally be deemed healthy. It just seems iffy as to wether people are going to cooperate or not.

If some people are new to it, at least they will learn from it. Example, they don't know the base but they like it and someone guesses it right, then they'll know right?

Dunno if this has been posted already. How about an avi customization contest? Get a screenshot of your avi and then dress your dollfie up to look just like that and get the pics side-by-side.

Edward: For right now, we don't have many meetup threads, so I think we're okay. I've considered it though.
Selurnis: I'm not the greatest with running contests, but I can take it into consideration. We have never really gotten much in the way of entries with even simple photo contests, so I almost doubt that something that complex would call many people in.

Mkays, first thing is just a matter of taste and though not personally offensive, 'for when sh*t goes wrong' may not appeal to some parents of younger Gaians out there. (Some parents are far too overprotective/sensitive ^^;;; )
A photostory section! I posted my most recent in the art section, so maybe just adding photostories to the little what goes here parens thing would prolly do. heart
I've seen a few people suggest meet-up section, not the worst idea in the world.. but I think although a few threads in the general discussion, I'm not 100% sure it merits its own section.
A BJD games section perhaps? I personally wouldn't mind hosting a small photo contest or two. I've always wanted to on DoA but didn't feel like putting up a monitary prize or anything.. I could easily afford some Gaia prizes though. 3nodding heart
One last thing.. I wasn't sure where else to ask, but if this thread could be moved to the art section I would very much appreciate it. ^^ (I half went looking for the moderator tools to do it myself before I realized.. "Hey Chie.. this isn't the guild you're a mod in." Do'h.. silly me. sweatdrop )

falon kisari Question- Can anyone hazard a guess at how long contestants would be given to make the outfits? I doubt that anyone here could finish in the time limits given by Project Runway. sweatdrop Edit- I'd also like to suggest a theme! biggrin We could have one of the themes be a card deck, like Jack of Spades, Queen of Daimonds, etc. Bring it on! I have the perfect prop for Jack of Diamonds! (which is also my lucky card) 3nodding

A doll clothes craft manship/model contest.
Have people sew clothes for dollfie, and have them take pics of it (on the doll) and have it by how well the outfit looks sewn, and then how it looks on the doll smile

All I do is sew for my dolls so I could easily come up with something to submit(especially with a certain dolly's second birthday coming up).

I vote for a BJD games section too. I was meaning to start a scavenger hunt of sorts, but I'm not sure where to put it...
I love photo themes! Contest or just for fun, I'd be game, anything that gives me an excuse/drive to make more outfits and take more pictures XD
