Psh, put him in his place. Go show him your DDR skillz. Hah.

Do you ever dance with someone else on 2 Player mode? I don't know if it's the same wherever you are, but when I was visiting my Dad in Virginia, the kids at the Arcade there were so pushy, they'd just get on the machine and put their money in so they could play too. ._. It was pretty annoying. No one here in New York does things like that, so I wasn't used to it. XD

I played DDR a lot in an arcade a few years back and no one ever did that to me. *shrugs*

Wow, you live in a polite area. =o Or are the morons just beaten into submission? You must share your methods.

Well, it's not really my area. We have to go quite a ways to get to that arcade; across a freeway. There's like no arcades in my city. D:

weak

I would not survive a month somewhere without an arcade within a 15 minute drive. I didn't used to be this dependent on video games. xd I think something happens once you reach the double-digits.

XD The closest arcade to me is about thirty minutes away and they're closing it down. :B It kinda sucks.

You should try to buy some of the games then! eek
You might find a bargain.

I have a N64 and a GameCube so I manage without going to arcades often. ^^

I can live pretty long with just a PS2 and a Gba, but eventually I have the yearning to go play on real metal pads, and raft those rivers, and shoot up those b***h-a** velociraptors! mad

Those drumming games are pretty fun too! I like the ones by the ddr companies since they have a few of the same songs, but there is a really fun one with a different set-up called percussion master! =D Have you guys played?

If I had money, I totally would go and buy everything. When I get my own place one day, I want to have a room just for arcade games. :D That would be awesome.

I have a PS2 and N64. I love the N64. I used to have a Sega Genesis, but I think my sister stole it. Bah, like she even plays anyway. =__=

I like going to arcades too. There's just a different atmosphere in an arcade than in your own house. :3 XD I'm usually afraid to play those shooting games. They're scary, because I feel so pressured and I hate things popping out of nowhere and coming at me.

I tried getting my Dad to play one of those drumming games you were talking about, Pixi. My Dad played the drums in a band, so he's good at that kind of stuff. He wouldn't play though because he said that he doesn't want to have to follow some random pattern. Next time I see one of those, I'm going to play. :]

I used to have a Sega Genesis too (the only non-Nintendo system that has ever lived in this or my previous house) but it stopped working. sad The only games I remember for it were Sonic and Knuckles (I thought Knuckles was a girl until last year or so...), Monopoly, and a racing game.

The oldest thing I have is a nintendo64. It was all about the mario kart and pokemon stadium back in the good ol' days! ^.^
I feel bad that it never gets played anymore. It has been gathering dust in a cabinet for quite some time now.

@BK: Definitely try it out! Especially if it's the mtv drumming game, because you can just play free-style and not even worry about following commands. That's the first one I tried out. It's so addictive! XD I eventually tried playing ahm, the one who's name escapes me, but is made by konami. All music games just remind me of ddr now. Once you get the concept of hit the button when the command hits the bar, you can play pretty much all those kinds of games.

Have ya tried the one where it's like a dj's turntable sort of thing?
PostPosted: Tue Sep 19, 2006 11:06 pm

I certainly will. I didn't know there was a freestyle option, but now I'd feel more comfortable playing.

LOL, Are you serious? There's a game that's like a DJ turntable? I've never seen anything like that at any of the arcades. It sounds awesome.

*nods* xd Well that's what it reminds me of, given I've never seen a real one up-close. It's like a bunch of buttons to hit and then a fake record disk that you have to turn. I've never tried it, but it's near the DDR machine at my arcade so I watch the people in line play it sometimes. Looks like the same type of thing with the little commands falling down the screen.

I don't know if there is a free-play mode on most drum games, but the MTV one does for sure. It's just like playing around on a drum set with background music. Apparently it even get's updated regularly. I saw someone drumming to "My Humps" the other day. You can't escape that song anywhere! XD

That sounds crazy, but fun. I hope one day arcades in New York stop sucking. Haha, there's hardly anything good at any of the arcades near me. They all have two DDR Machines and about ten thousand Initial D games. Even though Initial D is fun, No one is usually waiting in lines to play that like with DDR. gonk Injustice, I say!

In my town there are 2 main arcades and a few smaller ones scattered around the boardwalk. We have a total of 2 DDR Extremes, 1 DDR supernova, and an ITG machine too. The smaller arcades don't usually have lines, but you've just got to be in the right place at the right time. Sometimes even the extreme machines can have lines of 3-5 groups. O_o But then on other days I'll be able to play non-stop for hours! Both occurences on weekends too! This town doesn't make any sense. XD

With so many arcades, we have everything though. So waiting in line isn't as painful as it must be near you.

That reminds me, Timecrisis 4 came out! If I actually had some money, I would be dominating some virtual terrorist group as we type. =(

Do you guys have Nickle Cities on the East coast?

No lameness, I don't remember ever seeing any in the eastern states, but I was just double-checking. They're arcades where all the games are 1 or 2 nickles to play instead of quarters.

For the ghetto gamers like me! =3

I've only seen a few in cities a few towns over though. I wish there were more.

On a slightly related note: Dave & Buster's is death >_<
