I think there are a few "classics." Though I suppose it depends on how old a well-recognized book has to be in order to be called a classic. True, only a couple 50+ titles have been named so far. So feel free to add. smile
While I'm posting, I'd like to add Fried Green Tomatoes at the Whistle Stop Cafe (by Fannie Flagg) to the list. While it's not a book everyone would like, I think it's something that everyone should read at least twice.

Dracula by Brahm Stoker Any of the Shannara or Magic Kingdom of Landover books by Terry Brooks Howl's Moving Castle by Diana Wynne Jones Any book by Marion Zimmer Bradley The Hound of the Baskervilles by Sir Arthur Conan Doyle The Wheel of Time Series by Robert Jordan The Last Unicorn by Peter S. Beagle Flatland (I don't remember who it's by) The Tempest by Shakespeare Neverwhere and American Gods by Neil Gaiman Frankenstein by Mary Wolstonecraft Shelley 1984 and Animal Farm (and the author's name just jumped out of my mind) Brave New World by Aldous Huxley Biting the Sun by Tanith Lee (or Don't Bite the Sun and Drinking Sapphire Wine, they're the same books but Biting the Sun has both books in one volume)
That's all for right now, I'll definitely be adding to my list.

Barry trotter and the unauthorized parody -Gerber, Micheal. I found this book to be crude and poorly thought out. I couldnt have loved it more!!. Its soo funny, all those HP fans with a good sense of humor should check this out.
