Hikaro recognized the scenery. Raven didn't live all that far away from he. Just, He never really ventured to this side of the neighborhood. He continued walking with Ryo and Raven, until they came upon the Nevermore residence.

"Raven, do you have anyone here to look after you, or should I stay and wait for your mother?" He asked, genuinely concerned that Raven be looked after properly. His own dad would be mad that he spent so much time out, especially having recently been hurt, but an explination would be all his father required.

Raven poked his head in through the front door.

"Moooooom? Mom.. are you hooome?" he asked, taking a few steps in... none of the lights were on... Mom always kept the lights on.. she was afraid of the dark (( *raises hand* GUILTY! ))...

".. crying She's not home..." he whined, grabbing Hikaro's hand again.

Hikaro's hand was only free for a moment before Raven's had gripped it again. It almost made him laugh, how at odds they were in the beginning, and now, he was the only one the pitch colored hououza would touch.

"What about...What were their names...Ebola? And..." Hikaro couldn't place the last name, so he left it open ended.
"Well, shall we go inside to wait, at least? What do you usually do while you're at home, to pass the time?" He inquired, trying to make this as pleasant as possible.

Raven blinked a few times. "It's nighttime, Ebola's out at night.. he's the Jersey Devil after all.. ^_^ So he'd be with mom anyways...

Aurora.. she might be at Carbuncle's house... so I dunno.." he flicked on a few lights upon entering, a blue-ish colored cat-like critter mewing upon being woken up by this, crawling down the steps and looking up to them, she didn't even come up to Raven's knee.

Raven lifted her up in his free arm, then looked to Hikaro again. "Mom usually reads to me... she read me a really good one the other day... it was... 'Green Rider'... "

Jersey devil ey? Sounded interesting, just like how the cat critter that greeted them looked interesting, tiny critter that it was, was very, very cute. He peered about the room he was in, taking in the surroundings. His gold wings shivered, a little, to keep the blood circulating.

"I've never read that one," Hikaro said, moving to sit down. He was getting a little woozy again, from the walk. "What's it about?" he asked quietly, trying to give his full attention to the boy he was looking after.

Ryo closed the door, to keep the cold air from getting in, and to deter uninvited 'visitors'.

"It's about a girl who wanted adventure, and she comes across a dying guy, who hands the mission he was on, over to her and she's chased down by these evil people, and all these other people try to save her and stuff, and she has a magical golden brooch she got from the dying rider that lets her turn.. kinda invisible... and then at the end they're like 'BE A GREEN RIDER! =D' and she's all 'NO THANK YOU'... Mom was gonna read me the second one sometime this week..." he added, rubbing his cheek against the 'cat's before holding her up. "Hikaro, meet Aurora."

Hikaro laughed at Raven's description, put into modern day language, plus very, very summerized. In his mind the image of the girl formed, a little hazy but discernable as she went through her adventure at 1500 mph. His eyes closed as he chuckled, and when he opened them, the blue cat was IN HIS FACE.

...And he loved it. Hikaro patted the cat gingerly, reminded of Isa, back at home, probably asleep next to his food bowl. He smiled, for he loved cats, dearly.
"Hello Aurora, it's very nice to meet you." He said, giving the cat a last affectionate rub behind the ears.

Aurora mewed, that being all that could be understood by other creatures aside from Felis. She purred at her attention, rubbing her head against Hikaro's hand.

Raven laughed, holding Aurora like one of those evil villians, stroking her back.

"Mom says Aurora had an obsession with me while I was a feather, which might explain why I speak portuguese somtimes.." he moved his arm to trace her markings. "If you look at her markings, She looks like a portuguese man-o-war." he explained, then smiled widely.

"I was wondering about that." Hikaro said, remembering to the frantic ranting from earlier. "Portuguese man of wars, aren't those jellyfish?" He asked, stroking Aurora gently. When he paused, she nudged his hand, asking for more, it was delightful.

"It's a good thing you aren't poisonous." He said, smiling at how cute she was. He was actually quite intrigued by the pom pom at the end of her tail, floofy and blue. She was no ordinary cat, but they were no ordinary people, and certainly under no ordinary circumstances.

Raven's slightly evil smile while he pet her was a little discerning, but fitting, Hika supposed. He really wasn't evil, just...tended to look that way.

"Not exactly, Jellyfish are alot smaller and have less mass then a Man-o-war. But they look alike." Raven explained. "And instead of being poisonous, she's extremely light, like a Man-o-war is, as they use the wind to blow 'em around, and she floats in water.. as well as you can get a nasty shock from her paws when she's excited.." he held up her paw to show off the bottom of it.

"Besides that, she's tame." he cooed.

Aurora mewed again, jumping onto the floor and zooming up the stairs.

"Oh, I just thought they were giant jellies." Hika said, watching the cat thing with interest. His own cat was painfully normal in comparison, and instead of getting a nasty shock, he got nasty claws, which tended to ruin his good clothes. T.T

"So how did you end up living with a Jersey Devil...?" Was the next thing he asked, briefly wondering if it was the reason Raven shrieked at the sky earlier.

"My mom works capturing monsters that people claim don't exist, or couldn't exist according to science... the wild ones they capture, then get DNA pulled to create tamer ones that normal people can own and not get eaten.. well.. those wild ones think she's rather tastey and would like nothing more then to eat her..

Except Ebola.. Ebola didn't try to eat her, so she brought him home with her one day.. he flies around alot.. he's really fast.. he could get from Pennsylvania to Maine in a couple hours.."

Maybe that's why he was afraid to try flying..? Because he couldn't meet par with his .. 'brother'..

Hikaro flushed slightly, kind of embarressed about the mundane nature of his own life. He was the oddest thing in his family, thus far, and he couldn't really be considered all that strange. After all, no one in his family could compete with a jersey devil.

"Your mom's work sounds...dangerous." Hikaro said, but he began thinking of different monsters claimed to be nonexistant, "Has your mom found any....Dragons?" He asked, then, finding most others either just myth, such as Satyrs, goblins, dryads...

Once, he read about a smallish blue green dragon that had white fur, 'cuz it lived in snowy, really cold climates. Differing stories portrayed them, one as a guardian who saved and protected lost hikers in the mountains, others as beasts from the north that carried off people into the wintery night, or locked them away in caverns of ice as frozen trophies. But he also read that for most of their lives, they were really small, about the size of cats, but could fight fiercely.

Raven held up one finger. "A dragon is a mythological creature, not a cryptid creature. The thing seperating the two is that there have been sightings of Cryptids, there haven't been photographed sightings of a dragon." he explained, sitting down.

"She plans to get into Dragon business.. she supplies various chimeras to a chimera shop, and she says a dragon wouldn't be too hard to get. She likes the Chinese kind though..." he explained, then wandered over to a cabinet to get a photo album.

"Mom puts pictures of all the weird things she catches in here...Like there's a picture of a Sasquatch in here.."

Ryo waited outside, as they talked. Ryo wasn't good with dealing with younger kids yet....he sighed for a couple of minutes. "Never a dull moment," he said, looking out, making sure that the goons didn't follow them. Unfortunantly, they did. And boy were they buffoons. Ryo finally got a good look at them. They wore matching Navy Blue suits, all made of rubber, with two yellowish annetennae sticking out the top. "Hey! What're you doing!" Ryo yelled, jumping up and taking off. "Uh-oh. MOVE MOVE MOVE RogoRogo," one said, the one in front. All had portable net launchers and were opening fire. Ryo just shook his head and cut the nets with his longsword as they approached.
