I love Macromedia Fireworks MX, even though its not as great as Photoshop. Photoshop is great for high quality/detail images, Fireworks is more like banners and buttons. Pretty basic.

Ya im one of them. its really easy. i make my layouts with it. the only bad part is layering because i know how to get around the brushes. quite simple trick actually.

For any students out there: www.creationengine.com is a great site for student discounted softeware. Photoshop is only $279 there and the whole creative suite is $379. Corel Painter is $99 so everything is very reasonable.
I use photoshop, imageready, illustrator, etc...I've also done flash but not extensively.

mmh my favs are: vue4, cinema 4d, illustrator, photoshop and indesign mrgreen - with the most i work everyday (job)
