[ Yay! All right then, now to answer an important question...where is Chrono? With Tax, 'cause Shader says it's cool. xP ]
This was definately the end. His eyes were already dead, and the rest sat patiently upon the prison vessel's floor to await complete release. How could he bear this life another day? He had seen so many horrible things, and the latest sight that had landed him here was too monstrous to convey even in words. In a sense, he was glad he reacted as he did. Though a crust of spew still remained on the side of his mouth and the wretched taste lingered in his throat, Tax was glad he would go with at least one last honest expression. It symbolized everything wrong in this land, and strangely made him feel less of a coward. There was no use for cowardice especially now, as this trip had an inevitable and inescapable destination. So, he consented. He had tried for so long to just, survive- but he knew now that it was not meant to be. The prison vessel creaked wearily along the wet and muckish trail, accompanied by a howling wind. The cold he felt, all discomfort- soon to be gone with a cool slice upon his neck. But why was something, off? He suddenly again felt his nerves, as he gained knowledge of the presence of the other passenger of the rolling wooden casket. A peculiar fellow with a violet braid, something in his eyes reflected the complete opposite of Tax's demeanor. Though he felt doomed, he was curious of what this one had to live for. In a soft and defeated voice, he spoke to him.
"Tell me, friend...why of that determination on your face. Do you truly not seek your death?"

(I really don't know WHERE they are)
"I won't die here." Chrono said in a serious tone. "I've made a promise to someone, and whomever will bare to be a witness, I will not die before it is fufilled. There's someone beyond these walls waiting for me, and I will not wait to greet her in the afterlife."
Though his clothes were filthy and ragged, and his skin marked with the various cuts and bruises he recieved upon arrival here, his red eyes still shown vivivdly in the nearly pitch black darkness. They were trn between anger, and determination.
"She was rescued, and I assure you that I will see her before my time is up."

[ Ah, right. Sorry...going to a prison relatively near the FF's forest seems good, mm? ]
As he watched him speak, a certain light of life reappeared in his own yellow eyes. It was that of admiration, and was accompanied by a weak smile.
"You hold true valor in you, then. And are quite blessed to have a bond of love in this world, whereas most can only wish for one. I have no one, myself."
Looking back down to the ground, he curled the fingers of his left hand while his arm rested on his knee. He began to carefully deliberate something, moved by his prisonmate's will. Ambition such as he displayed...could not be quenched. Tax had seen many people die for their spirits, fighting to the very end. And although everytime such display ended in defeat, this was a situation where he felt he could change that. He himself was a marked man...so for any last act he commited, it was not like they could kill him twice. He might as well completely abolish his cowardice to feel like his life was not completely wasted. Looking back up to the stranger, he pledged to him in earnest.
"...I will do my best to help you escape, if you wish."

Chrono turned to his fellow prisonmate and smiled. It was a good-natured, cherful smile. Someone one might see when out with friends, being in the bright warm sun, or saying farewell after a long or busy day.
"Any help is duely appreciated. I'd shake your hand, but..."Chrono looked down, gesturing to the liberal amount of chains wrapped around his person. It was hard enough to move his chest to breath, let alone attempt to shake hands. For being such a small looking boy, those who were holding them prisoner did not see to wnat to take any chances with him.

"Come on Rosette, I better get you dry and warm before you catch a cold." He said to Rosette. Walking towards where he lived, he thought of some of the things he needed to do. He would have to stroke up the forge and put water in the kettle for some tea. He would also have to put out some clothes for her so she could get out of her sopping wet clothes so they could dry. He sighed heavily at all he had to do. No body had to do this for him, although the Fugitive Foresters were still somewhat new when he joined. He shook his head at the memory. It seemed so long ago, but he couldn't remember when exactly it was.

Tax had not really noticed the extreme amount of tether that the boy was subjected to, until a slim beam of light seeped through a crack in the vessel at the time of his reply. He was admittedly shocked, having thought of such restraint as unheard of. Was the Monarchy really becoming that cruel? True, he himself had just carelessly been tossed into the back of this wagon- but he was no fight either, being weak from his period of sickness. Had this person...actually done something? Something wrong? No. Not with that heart, or such a kind smile. He could not bear doubt for his fellow countrymen. Slowly pushing himself off from the molded floor, he pushed his left hand against the wall to feebley walk towards his prisonmate. Seeing how these vessels went through an extensive amount of wear, the rotted wood chaffed beneath his palm and proved to be a harsh guide. But eventually he reached the other, and kneeling before him tried to shift the weight of his chains. To not gain attention of the driver or horses on the other side of the wall, he tried to be as quiet as possible.
"I am...not very good with chains, but I will try what I can to at least help you breath..."

Sighing a little irritably Riana glanced at the girl, which was actually a stupid label for her to give; herself being only seventeen, and rummaged in her pockets for her fingeless gloves. Pulling them on she said, "Word is not out, I have sharp ears." Then she focused on the possible Messiah, her eyes penetrating and searching for any hint of the prophecy within. "If you have it in you I am at your disposal but untill then I am of a higher rank so deal with it. I'll go locate your past for you so you two can make up in the free world." With a wink she laughed a little and added in for Khnui, "Get her warm and snuggly so we can get her tough and resistant come the rest of all the tommorows. Hopefully she is worth it." Without another word she launched herself into the nearest tree, scaling it easily and was soon out of sight, off to scout the nearest prisons for Rosette's purple haired lover, or friend or whatever.

"Okay, for once, I have to agree with her." Rosette said, turning to face Khnui. Every ounce of that rebllious determination she'd just shown was gone. Now she was shivered and hugging her around around her tightly. "I'm freezing! Lead the way! Please!"
~*~*~*~*~*~
"Don't trouble yourself, please." Chrono replied, watching his fellow prisonmate struggle just to move closer. "It is not that much of a hinderance, I just feel a bit weighted down. Please, just rest, you need it."

"This way." He said with a sweep of his arm. He only had to walk a couple of minutes before he got to his house. It's a simple two story house with a small shack where various tools and wepaons were hung up. "In here." He said as he opened the door to let Rosette in. "I'll strike up the forge and set some water into a kettle to boil." He said.

Rosette tugged the wet cloak off and threw it aside.
"Here, let me help. A little activity will help distract me from my shivering." She offered after wringing out her hair. "Just tell me what to do."

"Well, in the room over there. There is a pump for the forge, you can do that while I put some wood in there and get water in the kettle." He said as he gathered the water from around his body and formed it into a ball. He then gracefully pushed the ball of water outside, the ball breaking apart as it went into the rain. He closed the door before going to the wood pile. He threw several large logs in and went upstairs where the housing part of the building is. The main floor was his workshop, where he kept all of his materials that he needed. He went to the kitchen and grabbed the kettle and some tea leaves. Filling the kettle with water, he added the leaves. Before going back downstairs, he grabbed his house coat for Rosette to where. "Here, you can wear this while your clothes dry off." He said as he handed her the houscoat. "You can go into the other room to change." He said as he set up the kettle near the forge. He then proceeded to put together a rack for her clothes. "You can hang them up here when you're done."

"Ugh, I wish I could do that..." Rosette muttered irritably as she watched Khnui easily rid himself of the water soaking his clothes. She was just about to go get the pump for the forge when he threw the coat to her. Rosette was grateful to have something to wear, but it wasn't much.
"Er... Not to be rude but... I'm wearing a dress, and this coat... doesn't exactly cover everything." Rosette said, feeling very foolish.

"Put it on, it'll grow into your size. And I mean that literally." He said as he started to pump air into the forge, causing it to become hotter. "And you can if you work hard enough and if Blaise feels you are ready to control the elements. I, myself, only use it when I have to." He had set the kettle a bit closer when the forge was ready. He grabbed some horseshoes he had to repair and threw them into the forge. He might as well get some work done. "There is also some extra-curricular things I could teach you if you want, but once again you'll have to ask Blaise. She is your Tkhanskh, and I can't train or teach you anything unless she wants you to learn those things."

"Well, do be frank, I do know a bit of magic. I suppose that's partially the reason I was captured and scured so tightly." Rosette replied, showing him the raw, red skin around her wrist and arms. "I guess you could say its a bit of wind or air or whatever, and I have this really strange skill that works great on drunkards. I can make them sober in a second flat, no hangovers or anything!" She laughed. "Though I can't see that being a skill to be feared."

Respectfully shaking his head, he presented a warm smile to his companion before working his eight fingers again.
"I shall rest when I am dead, friend. That will be soon, as well as our arrival to the prison. So to put you at a better advantage, for I doubt your chains will be removed when we are stationed, I have to try and at least loosen some of them."
So many chains, and so much spawning curiousity to what great lengths this one had gone through to attain them. It was not Tax's place to ask though, and it was definately not the time. Though he worked from gently pushing to yanking the lengths, they were resilient, until at least one or two seemed to ease. At this point the terrain beneath them shifted to hard and bumpy, with the droning of clacks following their movements. Cobblestone, most likely...and a sure sign that they were upon the prison grounds. Soon their vehicle would halt and the door would open, but he continued his task diligently- striving to free as much clasp as he could before discovered.
