Jacob exited the pool, and immediately noted the lack of light. And, so, to be extra certain, he wreathed himself in shadows.

It wasn't a cartoon, and this was no poorly-thought out magic. This "wreathing" was a general darkening as it approached him, making himself completely invisible, and a twenty-foot or so area look slightly...off.

Like this, he continued carefully, slowing his movements, no longer racing like a maniac after the offender, but sneaking silently and carefully.

In a moment, Jacob Chambers was gone, dissolved into the non-light, and searching for his more-than-blooded friend.
