lol I think everyone puts a bit of themselves into any character that they write- or at least -sees- a bit of themselves. Otherwise it's too hard to write them

You're right. XP I can act like Takao. XD Ok, I'll stick to topic now. >.<

for me, I would say that as far as Kai's personality goes, when I watch the show, I see a lot of determination, like he either wants to prove something to himself or he is hurt so badly that it fuels his beyblade. Kai needs his anger, but if it is controled in like a more subtle way...like instead of hating those alive today like Tyson...*cough* but more like he could be angry over how something turned out like his grandfather Voltaire turning to the side of evil instead of good, Boris treating those people at the abbey as bad as he did...like if Kai saw what was truly bad in some people, and turned his anger from just pure rage, his bit beast dranzer I am sure would be more powerful than he ever was. true Kai learns from his past, a good thing. Now defeat is nothing to be so angry over, however, being angry over wrongdoing...fuse Kai's anger with what Tyson is doing to the sport of Beyblade and beating opponents who are truly evil, and Kai....well, then he will be unstoppable. and yet, Kai...if you do get to be unstoppable, do not let it go to your head...because power can do that to people. It did that to you once already. Just looking out for a hopefully soon to be friend. (my mom has a big crush on you kai...hee hee hee and it would be nice to see you and her become friends too. that is if you happen to see this)

How does Kai's personality turn out to be?
I'd say not as serious as the show.

Well in my fics he always ends up being the "silent type" serious, cool, focused on his tasks... as per canon. But he talks just a little more. And is maybe just a little more open to realizing that yes there are people out there who care about him, and who arent out to steal his crown.

*does a cartwheel*

I like writing Kai as a scary OCD-infested erotomaniac.

I love it when I actually know what I'm doing instead of making up something with the label 'stalker' attached

hmm this is new to me.

Here is what happens when I write a fanfic
1.What if question-Basically when I watch something I say what if my character was there.

2.Write some ideas,.

3. this can be an original-If it looks like a series and can take out the copy write part

4. make first chapter

5. get stuck- either have no middle no ending or boredom

6. Occasional remake- get back have additionals

7. stuck again

8. back to the fanfic- did only once and still stuck.

In terms of Kai's personality. Kai has to be a little talkative and he is more kinder only one them he is not.

hmmm that suckzorroz.

Have you ever tried writing a story plan where you plan out (basically) what happens?

That's what I do- they normally turn out to be around two or three pages. Then I break it down into chapters and go from there. The plan isn't rigid (I normally add sub plot and even characters as I go) but it gives me a guide as to where each chapter is ultimately headed and generally prevents me from getting irreversibly stuck.

Unless, of course, you're me and phail at writing final chapters. I go well until I reach the last two chapters and then I get sudden massive writers block. I think it's just from me not wanting to let teh story go but it normally ends with me locking myself in a room with coffee and refusing to let myself out before it's done

Well partly suck, partly lazy and partly inexperienced.

I planned it I tried but the parts that one of the characters start to fall in love is short for me.

Yeah like Dragon Ball I didn't want it to end the fighting yes. I know that the ending is when the goal is fufilled or something. Well main problem: Inexperience.

Well the only way to fix inexperience is to get experience so at least that's doable, right?

I need to learn how to write emotional scenes that I don't come back to two weeks later and go... that's s**t.

I'd say not as serious as the show.

Sometimes I make him smile/smirk a lot more than he usually does. He definately talks more, and is sometimes the star comedian of my fanfic ^_^

...when I write fanfiction...?

In general, I try to find new angles to the characters' personalities when scripting them - especially Kai. I also tend to find inspiration in the strangest of places, like this one fic I have now abandoned. The idea for it came from - of all things - a comment from my sis about my attitude towards the treadmill in my aunt's gym. I kept telling her to up the incline, and then the speed. She finally said "You know, if Kai and Tala and a few others worked out at a gym, Kai would have been doing what you're doing now!" So... yeah, the idea I got from that was marathon-related, or something. I never wrote down my story notes for that, so I've pretty much forgotten. ^^;

About story notes: I began doing these after... two years into the fanfic-writing biz, but I wasn't on fanfiction.net that time. Anyway, I don't plan per chapter; I just work out if there are going to be any OCs and if there are, how many of each gender. Then, of course, there's the plot... but sometimes I don't think of the ending until I'm nearly there *cough*
Its more of trial and error as for where I cut off a chapter. More often than not it ends with a spoken line that just - hopefully - leaves the reader hanging.

I know it seems a bit too... OC, but I find that my stories are more or less tied together if I do the notes, and are just crap if I don't.

The only Beyblade fic I've finished so far was titled 'Revelation', where I screwed around with Kai's past from both anime and manga, mixed both together and added a bit of real-life experience courtesy of best friend (at the time)... It's crap now that I go back to it, and I'm thinking of re-working that particular one. *shudder*

Sorta give me hope 3nodding

@flame: I would be so lost without my plans. Mostly because of the way that I plan out the stories in my head- meaning that I know every detail of the climatic parts and tend to forget the little parts in between so if I don't sit down and plan I will get lost. The chapter plans just help me further with orienting myself

I... kinda hafta finish my stories. Otherwise I feel guilty because I get all these nice reviews and then... I just feel bad. *sad nod*

My first story 'Innocence' is one of those stories I go back to and go 'WTH? I phail!'

But that's mostly because half of it is in first person and I couldn't figure out how to have current thoughts combined with past tense without it looking stoopid (still haven't for that matter) because the rest of the damn thing is in third person past tense.

I was intending to go over it sometime in the next few months but I'm lazy XD And I have two stories that I need to update. And the urge to begin a new one. And to write lots and lots of oneshots.

*sigh* life is tuff.

I can't do oneshots; they usually end up turning into longer stories... sweatdrop

That's why I never say "Okay, this story will be insert number chapters long, excluding prologue and epilogue..." My one crossover fic was supposed to be only 15 chapters long (w/out pro and epilogue), and was also supposed to be a one-time deal.

I ended up writing 18 chapters, and a sequel is in the planning stage. xD

...I tried killing Kai in one of my fics... but ended up bringing him back ^^;
