Equilibrium reminds me of people trying to create a perfect society.. in fact.. that's kinda what they try to do in the movie right? Try to create peace and destroy wars by regulating peoples' emotions with drugs.

It really kinda reminds me of The Giver. ><
The previews for The Island kinda reminded me of the Giver.

The drugs inhibit human emotion. The idea is that without emotion there is no war or fighting or anything. Of course there's no point to existence anymore if you're just a cog. Which is the point I suppose.

I went and saw Charlie and the Chocolate Factory today. I just got back.

Review: I didnt think Johnny Depp would make a good Willy Wonka, but he was actually pretty good at it. The Oompa-Loompas are now my favorite things ever. They have like a rock song when that kid who goes through TV gets shrunk, and they do this big robotic thing when the girl who turns into a blueberry. The special effects were nice, too. I liked Willy's introduction with his puppets. "I wouldnt get to see the show if I were up there, now would I?" I also enjoyed the Oompa-Loompa's home country. That "Willy Wonka" song will be stuck in my head for the next few days. I reccomend you see this, if only to get a kick out of the wackiness. Or the Oompa-Loompas. Who have the coolest hairstyle ever.

Moon Child

Starring Gackt and Hyde from L'arc~en~ciel. -fangirlish squeal-

eek Man, oh man, for a vampire movie (with only one vampire, 'Kei' played by Hyde) it was fanstastic! It hadlots of gunfighting, but apparantly, no one could aim worth a damn. It takes place progressively in the future, with a little Sho (played by Gackt) meeting Kei when he was very young. Sho grows into the beautiful god-on-earth we know today.

The movie takes place in Mallepa (wherever that is) and is spoken throughout in Japanese, Korean (?), and Cantonese.

For singers playing the lead roles, it was very well acted, and I cried at the end.

Score: 4.5 out of 5

Life is Beautiful

Without a doubt, one of the best films I've ever seen in my life!

It's in Italian, and it features a Jewish man using humour to shield his son from everything during WWII.

During the first half, however, it's mostly about how he gets together with his wife, it was very comical.

I would've cried at the end, if I wasn't at school when I first saw it, that's how good it was. I don't want to say anymore, because I want it to be totally new to you when you run out and rent it!

Score: 5 out of 5!

"Buon giorno, principessa!"

The Adventures of Lava Girl & Shark Boy In 3-D.

What happens when you taking a famous shoot-em up director and his box office success Spy Kids?

You get Hollywood cramming shitty sequels down your throat. And not to mention an similar movie that revolves around, you guessed it. Kids saving the entire planet due to their innocence. Hoo-ray.

The Adventures of Lava Girl & Shark Boy In 3-D is another of Rodriguez' family oriented films. Due to Spy Kids, Hollywood has FORCED Rodreiguez to fart out another child oriented success giving us bombers like Spy Kids 2: The Island of Lost Dreams and Spy Kids 3: Game Over. Which both had to be in 3-D (OOOOHHHH. AHHHHHHH) to give you the fake illusion that the movie's SO COOL and SO ASTONISHING IT CAN ONLY BE SEEN IN 3-D. GASP.

Let's get right down to the nitty gritty shall we?

Story: The story was s**t. No wonder since it was written by Rodriguez' SEVEN YEAR OLD SON. WHAT THE ******** MAN? Yet another distressed kid (who is named Max) who has no other option but to run into the depths of his mind and imagine a fantasy world where he can escape the HARSH AND CRUEL reality of his parents' divorce and his supposedly nasty but professional teacher, Mr. Electricidad.

Filled with unneeded plot devices such as the identity of Lava Girl (Which is Light, OOOOOH, how shocking!) and the political position of Shark Boy (The f** wants to be king of the flippin' sea). And stupid puns on behalf of George Lopez (Who sucks anyways) such as, "Watt's up?" and "Prepare for megahertz!" doesn't makes this movie any enjoyable. Your average, "kids save the world" type of flick. How exciting. Full of plotholes and childish themes.

Acting: The acting sucked. Period. Except for Jacob Davich (Linus/Minus) who out acted everyone, including adult actors. Jacob's preformance was the only one that was above average. As the school buly turned villain of Maxs dreamworld, his control of his dramatic presence as the arch villain was impressive. Able to be menacing enough to be an actual villain instead of this crappy kiddie junk but not go beyond the limit of his dramaticism and sound really corny. This kid rocks, I expect more of him in the future. Everyone else, sucked. George Lopez (Mr. Electric/Mr. Electricidad), Taylor Launter (Shark Boy), Taylor Dooley (Lava Girl), and Cayden Boyd (Max) went beyond over dramatic, they were in FREAKIN' bad comic book corniness here. It was like an Archie comic, except without the funny and Jughead complaining about how hungry he is.

Special Effects/Production Value: They give you 3-D Glasses at the door. Need I say more? Though you might say, "Oh cool, 3-D glasses, how retro and cool". The 3-D effects in this movie arn't very impressive. The only parts being 3-D is when someone burps, spits, farts, coughs, or any other bodily functions. Not to mention splats, falls, explosions and the entire kaboodle.

Other: Clueless > This movie.

Overall: This movie is why they should replaced the NC-17 rating with a NC+12 rating. This movie should be ONLY be for those 12 & under and their parents. Teenagers and single adults will not like this movie at all, while the little tykes and their parents/uncles & aunts/grandparents/legal gaurdians/donors should enjoy this movie.

Rating: -5/5. No one under 12 admitted unless with an accompanying child.

I concur doctor! domokun

Some of my friends say Hero sucks cause of the way they fight, or because the story sucked.
Now, the fighting I can understand. Some parts in that movie weren't put together all that well. Like when Sky is fighting the gaurds. A couple of the gaurds are way to far away to even think about hitting him, yet they still swing their blades.

Although the story in that movie is amazing. One of my friends who does like the movie said this "Those who don't like Hero, didn't actually watch the movie."

My friend said that Hero and House of Flying Daggers were pointless. I hate it when people say s**t like that instead of what they really mean, which is "I didn''t like this."

The martial arts is not unlike a chess game, I've watched that scene many times and I can tell you that even though they were swinging their swords out of range, it does not mean that it was without meaning. Perhaps a ploy to make your opponent puzzled or throw his attention elsewhere, giving your friend a chance to come in.

Usually when I hear "the fighting was stupid" it usually is in light of the "flying" aspect. (which has its meaning, it's called "Chinese story telling")

MTQ>> Agreed. It is quite annoying. It's like they have to come up with a reason for not liking it. xp
