Haki smiled, nodding her head as she did so. It was extremely happy- and she was happy too, knowing that the woman was coming. Maybe she'd do more nice things for her- so far she'd made her a wonderful concoction and let her play in her clothes.

Thorn in the meanwhile, had been unable to get Marc to cancel- but it was no problem. The two didn't know each other, and Thorn decided neither could get up to too much trouble.

Haki was grinning. This was ending up to being a pretty good day. "Food now?" she asked. The root beer float cleanly polished and her stomach ready for more.

Thorn smiled. "Now." he agreed. Recognizing the dress, he arched a brow and nodded. "We'll take my car then." he said, getting up and picking Haki up at the same time.

Haki looked over his shoulder at Natalie, and beamed. "Food good." she said.

After putting the finished cup in the sink, Natalie came over to Thorn and Haki, smiling. "Yes, food will be very good." Actually, she had realized that she was starving while she was changing - she hadn't eaten much at all that day, having been too focused on the clothing.

"Car sounds fine." Maybe this time, it'd be a bigger car? Probably would be, if he was taking Haki all over the place.

"Where exactly are we going?" she asked as they made their way out of the apartment. She made sure her key was on her (she made sure even her dresses had little hidden pockets) before she closed the door, patting her hip. Good, no getting locked out.

Thorn watched her movement with some amusement, shaking his head. He had forgotten what it might have been like to be a single girl living alone, with no help, no roommates... and no confidence in knowing no one would dare rob them. So he waited, patiently, and Haki did as well.

"Pizza!" she said, gleeful. She loved it.

Because sometimes she could convince Marc to order her a kids one all to herself. And garlic bread... hmmm...

Haki had discovered the good joys of butter.

"A little italian bistro. Marc will be joining us. Do you remember Marc?" he asked, readjusting his grip on Haki as he made his way down the stairs.

"Italian sounds good," she said, perking up. It had been a while since she'd had good Italian food.

And knowing Thorn, it would be good.

Natalie trotted after the two, thinking. "Mm... I'm not sure I've met him... unless - was he at the school, that day? I knew there was somebody I didn't recognize."

So that was him, huh? Hadrian's... ex.

"But I've never actually spoken to him."

Thorn nodded. "It was him." he said. Really? They had never spoken to each other before? Well, this certainly made things more interesting... however, since it was unusual for anyone who liked Marc to be nice to Thorn (Thorn didn't understand this trend at all), he decided they had no choice to it.

As they walked to where the car was parked, he nodded. It was larger, a deep shade of black that seemed to reflect white instead of shades of gray. It was sleeker too, as if somehow day merited a car that needed more attention then at night.

As the driver popped to open the door, he smiled at Natalie.

"I think you'll like him." he said levelly. "But he's a little bit stressed right now. Work."

Haki shot Thorn a curious glance. Work, was it? She was certain it was Hadrian-- but oh, whatever the great man buying her clothing said, she would go along with.

Work. Right. Work and personal problems.

Perhaps they'd have more in common than they thought.

Natalie slipped into the car, greatful for more room than the night before. It wasn't that it had been uncomfortable - but it would be odd to be sitting on Thorn's lap again.

"Well, stress is never a good thing," she managed to say after a moment of thought, watching the two get in. "Even if it's just about getting clothing finished sooner rather than later. Planning parties. That sort of thing."

Thorn smiled, nodding his head and slightly delighted. That friend of Marc's could mention it to him. Right now, he just wanted everyone to get along!

Huh.

But only to prove that people could like him as well as Marc at the same time.

Sliding in next to her and manuvering the girl so that Haki had enough room to sit between them, he smiled.

"I do hope Haki's clothing doesn't take up too much time?" he was concerned- it wouldn't do to have Natalie so busy that she didn't have fun.

What else would he watch, if he got bored?

"Depends on how struck by inspiration I am. And her costume will take a chunk of time - I want to get it just right.

"But as long as everything doesn't have to be done by the party, I should be fine. Gavin's clothing is almost finished..."

Natalie smiled down at Haki. While she didn't mind the girl sitting between her and Thorn, she did have to wonder if Thorn had done that on purpose. She was grateful, to a point.

"The show only has two more weeks to go, and then my schedule frees up considerably."

Thorn smiled, nodding his head. "And how are things with your costar?" he asked, a slight arch to the brow to inform her just which co star he was referring to. "Good, I hope?"

Haki wiggled, looking between the two people and tracking their conversation as if it was something tangible, rather than anything else. She smiled, nodding her head.

People fascinated her like this, she tried to mimic the way he arched the brow, the way she answered-- or she would when she had some privacy. Life was like a big classroom ready to give her lessons in order to rule the world.

And she liked to believe that she was a good student.

Her response was slow in coming. She just looked off for a moment.

"... We haven't spoken since the night after we had dinner. Not off stage."

She'd never really told Thorn was had happened that night, had she? Didn't matter - he'd probably guessed. And even if not, did she really have to tell him?

No.

"So yes, good." Natalie laughed a little, quietly.

Haki, deciding that the quiet, serious note was too much after a rootbeer float, interrupted by tugging on Thorn's jacket. "Daddy too?" she asked.

Thorn nodded. "Daddy too." he said, agreeing.

"I'm... glad to hear that." either way it was the truth. A polite answer because he was somewhat glad to hear that everything was good, but even gladder that she hadn't spoken to that man.

Private conflicts amused him the way the powerpuff girls amused Haki.,

"Well then." he smiled. "Good luck with your last two weeks."

"Thanks," she said, smiling again. No need to dwell, especially not with Haki there.

She leaned back. "How far of a drive is this bistro?" Hopefully not too far - while she'd love the food and company, she did have to work on sewing again before that night's performance.

In that case, she probably should have asked before hand. But as always, Natalie wasn't quite thinking ahead in the right direction.

Thorn smiled. "Just a couple of minutes." he assured her. Especially since his driver had a habit of breaking every driving limit in the rule book. He nodded his head, turning towards her with a smile.

"I'm glad you're coming with us." he said quietly, nodding his head with a smile. Things hadn't ended on such a good note before, had they? He arched a brow as he watched her.

"Really."

Haki looked at Elysia too, misunderstanding the words Thorn was saying. "Me too!" she chimed in, beaming- giving an innocent air to the conversation.

She smiled. "I'm glad you invited me," Natalie responded, ducking her head slightly. She turned her attention back to Haki. The girl wasn't as complicated.

"Well, I'm very glad you like having me around! I was a bit afraid that you and Gavin wouldn't like me - but I think root beer floats make friends of anybody, hm?"

She wondered if a root beer float was all it would have taken to make Thorn stay. Wouldn't that have been wonderful?

At Natalie's words, Thorn grinned. And Haki giggled too-- but only because she had a feeling she was supposed to. What the words meant exactly, she didn't know. The humor was too grown up fo her. But she knew it was funny. Kind of.

As the car slid to a stop, Thorn nodded his head. "We're here, then." he murmured, and as the door opened he helped Haki out first, carrying her in one arm while offering his other arm to Natalie.

"Shall we?" he asked, grinning. Marc was almost always on time, and he had a feeling the man might already be there.

It would be interesting, to see how the two of them would react to each other.
