Jazzy-Devine Not all are silent. biggrin Theres a guy named Pasi. He was quiet at first then all he could do was talk,talk,talk.... My friend is also exclusion from this rule! He talks a lot too: tells stories, jokes, news, and I rarely have a chance to tell something. I used to think I was talkative, before I met him... sweatdrop

 o.o I've never been to Finland before, but I'm sure the teens getting drunk and having sex all the time isn't any different from places like America, and where I live, Australia.
Plenty of countries have their fair share of teen sluts and drunks, and man whores, lets not forget the guys going off to do the nasty with randoms too! whee I know we sure do any way. People getting pregnant at 13, getting drunk..
I'm sure Finland would be a nice place to live, my dad liked it there. He liked the people there more compared to the people in Aus when he moved to Australia. They were very racist towards him when his family came here.
My conclusion~ Finland = heart Australia = gonk
I'd give it a try any day!

Luckily, the situation with teenage drinking and underaged sex isn't as bad here as in many other countries. But it's getting worse all the time. The children growing more mature younger and starting to live an 'adult life' before their physical and emotional changes have been finished. I know it sounds like an old man whining about the kids nowadays, but believe me, you don't understand stuff 'til you can actually turn around and look back to it.
(However, I also say that people should be let to do their own mistakes - it's the best way to learn life. I'm just a bit worried that so many people make those mistakes so young...)
Well, luckily the violence and crime rates here are at least in minimum. sweatdrop

I've heard that Finns had a tendency to drink (which i have to problem with, of course, lol) and are a bit self sarcastic and cynical. From what I've read (I've read the whole topic - I never do anything half a**) this is true.
Yes, every country has their share of sluts, whores, prostitute, skans, et cetera. You are just going to have to deal with it.
And most teens are like that (drinking and partying and the such) and this is I've heard that Finns had a tendency to drink (which i have to problem with, of course, lol) and are a bit self sarcastic and cynical. I personally think that emo / goth style is some sort of new teen fashion here O.o Didn't see that at all happening here for long time but these days.. They are taking over Helsinki! 3nodding
Anyways, glad I live in Turku now (lived 16 years in Helsinki) and won't be moving other city anymore in here Finland. Turku is just damn nice place to live.
And what was that thing about i readed on first page, about "some Turku thing".. I take that as insult :< Most of people living here are very nice and kind.
Oh and well, I have kinda fallen in love with girl living in Singapore.. And i'm seriously planning if I either move there or take her with me here ^_~ Tho need to wait atleast 10 years for some personal reasons, for second option.. But.. 10 years? That's nothing for someone you love so much >.>
Oh and.. I know the stereotypical image of us finns, that we don't talk very much and drink maybe too much then again. But it's not all that truth, there are other kind of people like me living here too.. ^^ I do talk sometimes maybe bit way too much when i get into mood, and with alcohol I'm almost never overdoing it..

Regarding the stereotype of Finns, I can see how its true (I happen to know a finnish boy who speaks none and drinks lots.) But, it's just one person. Not all 5.6 million of them are like that...
