I'm liking the Grey knights though... ^_^ Especially their termanators... that's what really got me interested in the game. I had watched it being played for years before, but never quite got into it. Now that it's caught my eye though, I'm really impressed with the deapth of the Warhammer 40K universe.

Nope, i'm pretty much just taking whatever my brother finishes right now, he bought a whole slew of WH40K novels and is reading through em fast, so I grab whatever he finishes.

I have to agree, I never use the special characters. i've been noted to have just packed up and walked off the moment someone places a special character on the field. I hate them.

Well do you make your own? Or just stear clear of em completely? I'll probably get the Emporers Champion just so I can paint it and have it look cool ^_^

bob is my own.
One fateful battle, the blood angels were ambushed by renegade imperial guardsmen. Even the Death Company were blown up. One man survived. A lone marine by the name of Bob. He passed his leadership test, and black raged the full amount towards the enemy, surviving 18 lasgun shots and dodging an autocannon at point blanc range, before raging into the guardsmen and killing 6 of them, causing them to retreat.
He was from that day forth Veteran Sergeant bob. On his next battle, bob's units took cover on the balcony of a civillian house. An ork krak missile went straight for him. Surely, that is death? NO. For bob uses the wooden balcony for cover (roll a 6 or die) and, thwarted the krak missile 3 times before the Orks were close enough. His team raged off of the balcony and into the horde, destroying it!

No force commanders are fine, they are in the standard army lists. I mean characters like: Elrad Ulthuan and Marnius Calgar and Ghazkull any of those back of codex chars. I put up with the emporers champion because he's as much a hindrance as an advantage, but I don't have to like it.
I don't even make my own special characters, I just play with the standard codex mini's. Heck My chaplain "Jeff Plasmaismyfriend" only ever gets artificer armour and a plasma pistol. I name them but I don't give them silly things like the back of book chars.... Mind you "jeff" has irritated many a foe
