Yes, i have considered inking, and it always turns out with a ruined model that has to be repainted. Frankly, its not worth the effort in my opinion. I age my tanks by merely dipping a stiff bristly brush in silver and wiping it mostly off, then just specckling the whole thing.

I dont ink, period. I tend to spend over an hour on each individual person, and up to a week on a tank. as to color matching, I paint them whatever looks good, then vaguely match them up with a color scheme.

....................... its different with normal SM's and eldar; you dont want them to look old and rusted, or pitted and battlescarred. At least i dont. With the exception of tanks, of course.

You use the ink heavily watered in many layers to gradually pick out the extra fine detail
