squshi Meshai I hate flutes. Then again most people hate me because I'm the oboe...that and I like scaring the innocent "non-bands" people bring in sometimes. Anyways. I have to sit beside the flutes, go to sectionals with the flutes, transpose flute music, AND my best friends both play flute...So now I have to learn it.... Just jokes. I just hate being stuck with them for sectionals and room practise. Transposing...don't even start on how much I hate that. Once there was nine oboes and eleven flutes... and we still got stuck with the flutes. We were so mad. oboe's awesome!!!! one of my good friend's is an oboeist.... nine oboes would be awesome.... but eleven flutes is too many.... so, screw the teacher and his/her bias against oboes *twitches* You're kidding, right? I lose sanity just listening to two oboes!

sleepstudent101 Lizard1016 for us it's the drum line. they can't play together... ever thedrum line O.O in my school, we're like...the most loved. i wish i could say the same for our drumline(it's weird cause a lot of the band like what we play and want to be in drumline) but i kinda don't blame them because of how some of us act. sometimes i feel like me and a few others are the only ones that really care in our drumline and yet sometimes it's like the trouble makers are valued more than us(by our battery instructer). some people don't like the colorguard(we call it pagentry here) but i don't know why i think they're afraid of getting hit or they want someone to blame but i think they are good infact they got the highest score at the competition in our band trip(we did good too blaugh ). i don't have a section i dislike i heart band nerds

I don't like the trumpet and oboe. Trumpet players are so obnoxious and over half of them can't play in our concert band. (Like 3/9 of them can hold a steady pitch...it's awful.) We have 2 oboes...one is bad enough, it's such an ugly sound when they can't play them well. I'd only use it for a duck call. sweatdrop

Our french horns sound pretty godawful, but that's the players' fault, not the instrument's. Poor things.

Everyone cannot stand the drummers in our band when they get out the snares. Only three can play snare right and awesome. The others, 5ux0r5! Only one tenor can play and not even a bassist can play right. It's sad. Yuckage.

I think i have to say the mostdisliked are the flutes in our band. There is a kind of a war between the flutes and brass and we don't know why. Our band is family, we rag on each other all the time. xd
It's usually:
Guard vs. Drumline
Brass vs. Flutes
Our trombones and trumpets are cocky liottle bishes, especially my friend Steven whee Most of us have dirty minds too... so theres that that comes into play while we make fun of other sections.

2nd and 3rd trumpets and 2nd and 3rd clarinets in our concert band are HORRIBLE. There's also one alto player who can't play at all... and our baritones are pretty bad as well, but they actually TRY to play, the trumpets and clarinets don't.
The best sections in our band are probably french horns, trombones, and bari saxes. And everyone else in our band is also pretty good except for the trumpets and clarinets scream

I'm an orch-dork, and we are all pretty much a happy little family (ok, if "happy little family" means 115 kids making noise together). But there is a long-standing tradition in orchestra that the violas get picked on no matter what. If something happens, the violas did it. I don't know why that is. Anyway, the only section that really has issues is the second violin section. They are always fighting over their seat placements and such. It's really annoying.
When we're playing as a symphony (with the woodwinds and such), I would have to say that the bassoons are kind of icky. it's not that I hate the instrument, really, it's just that the people who play them rarely practice and they are very timid. Plus, they don't watch the director and they just sort of come in whenever they feel like it...so they are usually 1 or 2 beats off from everyone else. argh.
