MLB: Yankees vs Red Sox
NFL: Vikings vs Packers
NBA: Pistons vs Pacers
NHL: Stars vs Red Wings
NCAA Football: Gophers (Minnesota) vs. Badgers (Wisconsin)
NCAA Basketball: Tar Heels (North Carolina) vs Blue Devils (Duke)
NCAA Baseball: Texas vs Nebraska
NCAA Hockey: Gophers vs. Sioux (North Dakota)
FIFA Soccer: France vs. Brazil

sportsace I would have to say these are the best rivalrys now and forever: MLB: Yankees vs Red Sox NFL: Vikings vs Packers NBA: Pistons vs Pacers NHL: Stars vs Red Wings NCAA Football: Gophers (Minnesota) vs. Badgers (Wisconsin) NCAA Basketball: Tar Heels (North Carolina) vs Blue Devils (Duke) NCAA Baseball: Texas vs Nebraska NCAA Hockey: Gophers vs. Sioux (North Dakota) FIFA Soccer: France vs. Brazil Pistons and Pacers was a big sucker, it ended in a brawl a few years ago and the Pacer's been sliding down hill ever since. doc.hyphae i know that i already made this thread in the sports forum outside of here, but i wanted to here the opinions of my fellow sportsfans. to me, the greatest sports rivalry is Yankees-Red Sox, because there is so much history behind it. what do you guys think is the greatest sports rivalry? Yankees and Red-Sox and also Steelers and the Bengals

The rivalry between the Miami Needlers and the Houston Prickers is phenomenal and intense all at the same time!!
...
Anyways the Yankees-Red Sox is the greatest rivalry.
Another good one is the Pacers-Pistons one too.

I think the most storied college hockey rivalry in the west would have to be Denver University vs Colorado College.. Since 1909 these schools have been battling it out. 3nodding
