If Sony were beholden to the core fans (people like ourselves), they would've put the show on hiatus and we would've been happy to wait for them to animate the Jinchuu Arc. However, they have to make shows that please the broader audience. That's why filler eps and characters are added, so the show appeals to everyone. In the end, the core fans got shafted because Sony felt they had to do filler arcs and Seisuckhen to please the broader audience. Sessha wa rurouni, de gozaro yo.

Seisouhen is garbage., so don't base you crappy opinions off of that. I agree 1000000000% with Akira_Hoshino. Kenshin and Kaoru are perfect for each other, and deserve each other completey. So enough !@#$!@#$!@#$!#.

Akira_Hoshino Yami no Hitokiri And as a purist, I completely reject the idea of Kenshin leaving his wife and child to wander again. There's no logical reason for it. Amen!

Akira_Hoshino Yeah, seriously! If you go by Seisouhen only and haven't read the manga, you'll be totally lost as to why Enishi is so threatening. It doesn't go into his past in Shanghai or his huge enterprise or anything. Grrness! Also, people lose how he's connected to events throughout the story, like with the dude that had Megumi make opium (sorry I forgot his name). I think he also had connection with the Shishio.

No mention is made of any connection between Enishi and Kanryuu. His connection is to Shishio who bought the Rengoku from his triad.

AWw it's nice to see that this question is still up!
Cool well I guess after watching the anime series this leaves me with no choice but to think that Kenshin and Kaoru are two of a kind.
Just to see Kenshin wake up from being all delirious after fighting Mr. Mummy Shishio remembering Kaoru just makes me all warm and fuzzy.
