Hey don't blame the script-writers...they're just working with what the canon's already thrown up for them. Besides I doubt we've seen the end of the daleks...they can always work round stuff they don't want to listen to...cause if we were going to be completely true to the series the Sonic Screwdriver wouldn't be there as that got blown up in the Davison era. They'll always find loopholes to keep classic Who elements there because they honestly can't afford to mess with the tried and tested formula too much.
Boo for Russel's comedy aliens being back next week, by the way xD

PatentDragon seffy_chan if her were to go back in time to "fix" the time wars it could potentialy damage history further... you saw what happend in fathers day... its a bad Idea.... Here's a thought... The Earth-centric nature of the current series reminds me of the Pertwee era, when he was exiled to Earth. Now... what if the "time war" isn't all its made out to be? What if it's some kind of psychological punishment, a mental form of exile from all the Doctor once knew...? As I said, just a thought - but "no more Time Lords, no more Daleks" seems a bit... convenient. I hope it's more than just an excuse to strip away possibly expensive stuff... actualy thats a theory My boyfriend and some of the people he talks to have been kicking around, except it goes more like "maybe this is all just reality television, and none of it ever happened" the time lords have done cruler things in their past.. ne?

And I don't think he was flirting with Jack -- it was really more competition over Rose. I'm a little disappointed by that, actually; it would have been cute if the Doctor had danced with Jack. whee

Jettrick Review- Boom TownWhy, Russel, why? End review. Judging from this episode next week's trailer has me extremely worried eek The last? No. It wasn't the last. We'll just shove in an entire fleet for you next time, because we're the writers and what we say goes <3! *...Le sigh* I'm excited and worried about this. But on Boom Town: Perhaps this is just because I can't compare to the previous series, but I liked this episode... There was less toilet humour. The dinner scene had me giggling at least. Jack? Grr. Grr. Grr. >.>... Looks like we might not be on Earth next time...?

...Okay, that last episode definitely confirmed it for me- the Doctor was indeed flirting with Jack. xd
'This is persecution! What did I ever do to you?'
'You tried to kill me and destroy the planet.'
'Apart from that.'
Next episode- I knew it, they couldn't keep the good old killer pepper pots out of it for long!

I loved all the silly jokes in today's episode. "Dinner and bondage? Suits me". XD
Although, what was Jack doing carrying a pair of handcuffs around? ninja

Donelle I loved all the silly jokes in today's episode. "Dinner and bondage? Suits me". XD Although, what was Jack doing carrying a pair of handcuffs around? ninja You think the parents of all the 8 year olds enjoyed explaining either of those things to their kids? Russel needs to stop going for cheap laughs. Plus I didn't see a need for this episode when Dalek did exactly the same thing only, and crucially, BETTER. To start off with we get an unexplainable plot device which conveniently puts them in the right place at the right time. Oh...uh...sure the TARDIS needs to refuel now...cause yeah...just because. And naturally we're doing it six months after the period in which I abducted Rose...also because <.< I enjoyed the middle, and it really looked like he was going to make the episode work for a while...then he just goes and hands out a cheapass 'magic of the Tardis' excuse at the end that means none of them actually face up to their responsibilities at all, thus rendering all the previous posturing and moral conjecture entirely redundant. It was nice to see Mickey finally being given something decent to do on screen though, poor mite e.e

Jettrick .... To start off with we get an unexplainable plot device which conveniently puts them in the right place at the right time. ... It's now twice been mentioned that the TARDIS is telepathic - so could it be that the TARDIS somehow knows where to go, and subtly manipulates The Doctor into picking the right place and time to go...? Maybe by this time next week (or the season finale), all this speculation will be irrelevant...

And naturally we're doing it six months after the period in which I abducted Rose...also because <.< To be fair, that's a common Doctor Who thing; the TARDIS pretty much actively seeks out trouble. Think of The Unquiet Dead, when the Doctor aimed for Naples 1863 (or somewhere thereabouts), but ended up in Cardiff 1869, right where trouble was conveniently a-brewin'. Besides, I thought Boom Town's excuse for landing the TARDIS there was a little more imaginative than the usual "stupid TARDIS done ******** up again".
