korean names can be kept, so can chinese.

Er, I am in fact half Korean, but I'm an American citizen with an American name. I think I might ask mum to give me an Asian name, wink

Um, is the Kanji (the third letter on each entry...it is Kanji, isn't it?) on the list reliable? That isn't the pattern for using them, is it? O.o I am so confused.

It's the kanji which kana is derived from I'm thinkin'

I thought the Hiragana might be the on-reading for the kanji, but I really don't know.

Well, I'm pretty sure on several in hiragana , but not positive on the katakana...but using 'sosho' grass style of writing, the kanji amounts to nearly the same as kana. Furigana would be slightly different I would imagine..
