PhiferWolf x Tamiko-chan
Ehrek x Hallie

How long had it been? Too long, the little female thought to herself. Jenna had been gone too long. She had disappeared that day and had never come back. Had she found someone better to stay with? Or had something happened to her? Worried beyond all belief, Hallie ran around the woods, checking every place she could think of for the older wolf. Nothing.

"Jenna where are you?" she whispered her thoughts out loud, stopping for a moment to catch her breath. All of this running around had her beat. She was exhausted more and more now and her hunting was becoming horrible. She was lucky she had had her mother teach her all those things that she had, or this wolf might have perished by now.

Getting frustrated and ultimately confused, she growled to herself then continued on. She had to find her friend. They were supposed to look for her sister together...

----------

The wolf had only left Zac's side for a moment to get something to eat real quick before their trek up the mountain. Why the wolf wanted to go up there, he didn't ask. He just wanted to help him get there and if possible stay with him for a while longer.

Padding around the forest, twigs and snow cracking under his large paws. No scent of any worth killing or any movement to chase. Right now, a mere rabbit would suffice. After stealing a caribou carcass and eating it with Zac, he wasn't all that hungry, the food was for Zac more than himself.

Just as he was about to turn back something beyond the bushes moved, something of a tanish color. Quickly, not wanting to pass up the chance, Ehrek immediately stalked after it. It was small. Slowly, the charcoal blue wolf crept along when it's scent fell to his nose. A wolf? What would a lone small wolf be doing alone? Ehrek stood up tall and called out, " Hey."

----------

Hallie was about to dart off again when something moved behind her. The wind was moving the wrong way for her to catch a scent, and so she went on high alert. Her mother had warned her about crazy wolves and other creatures. Some would gobble up a little pup the first chance they got. But she would make sure whoever was behind her wouldn't get that chance.

Yet then whoever it was called out. Narrowing her eyes, she turned around to face the other, who she now knew was a wolf, but still remained a good distance away.

"What do you want?" she growled, all of her frustration from not being able to find Jenna shooting out in those four words. She really needed anger management or something to help her. It really wasn't good to go growling at strangers.

----------

Quirking a brow, Ehrek looked down at the pup. Not a very good impression, growling at a complete stranger who could easily kill her if wanted. However, Ehrek was not that sort of wolf. Though, he could have. The male stood where he was trying not to frighten the pup or anything.

"Well, now, what are you doing out here all alone?" he asked. This pup, female by the scent, was on the defensive so Ehrek was going to have to stay in the lines on this one. "My name is Ehrek. May I ask your's?" he spoke in his caring, soft tone. Ehrek posed no harm to anyone unless a life was in danger, and here that was not the case unless something happened to burst through the bushes and gobble up the pup....fortunately that wasn't going to happen. Now paranoid, Ehrek's ears moved around just in case.

----------

Hallie wasn't at all frightened of the male. She hardly got scared. The only time she would even tremble would probably be if some whacko wolf came slobbering and drooling all over her, ready to chew her eyes out. Then she might be scared. But scared of this wolf in front of her? Nah.

When he asked her what she was doing out her all alone, she became even more defensive. "What do you care?" she snapped back, her ears falling back against her skull as her blood raced in her veins. This wolf was just wasting her time. She needed to get out and find Jenna! Maybe if she was nice to him or something he'd go away.

"Sorry," she suddenly said half-heartedly. "I'm having a bad morning." Glancing off to the side, she forced herself to calm down.

"My name is Hallie and I'm out here looking for my friend. Maybe you've seen her?" she asked hopefully, her ears perking as she glanced up at Ehrek. "She's red and white and wears a little thing around her neck. Her name is Jenna." She didn't know if Jenna had been through here, but it didn't hurt to check.

----------

Ehrek quirked a brow at the sudden cold question that suddenly came back as a warm apology. He smiled and nodded, bad mornings happen to everyone nowadays. Ehrek took a step forward out from the bushes toward the cub, taking each one slowly, watching for any reactions.

"No, I haven't seen any other wolves around other than myself and my friend. As for females, that would only be you." Actually, Ehrek had other things on his mind other than females. "Is she important to you? How old is she?"

----------

Hallie frowned when the male revealed that he hadn't really seen any other wolves besides himself and his friend, whoever that may be. He hadn't even seen any females! Was this part of the woods really so secluded? It seemed that she was searching in the wrong parts, if he hadn't even seen another wolf.

Sighing, she lowered her ears again. Would she ever find Jenna again? Maybe her friend had left her purposely... no, that wasn't true.

Blinking, she looked back up at Ehrek.

"Yes, she's very important to me. She's my best friend. And.. she's an adult, like you."

----------

"An adult, huh? Why would an adult wolf, who is important to you, leave you?" he replied, weary of it. Ehrek avoided other wolves, that is why he doesn't see many and not many wolves like to be seen. The male was glad he just had Zac around to watch his back and vice versia.

Ehrek smiled, "I am sure she is just out hunting for food for you. Perhaps she is back at that place right now looking for you." A white lie, but it gives faith. Ehrek could not stay long, Zac was waiting for him. The wolf could only keep her hopes up. If she wasn't and Ehrek found her, then he'll know where to direct her.

----------

Hallie glared at Ehrek when he asked her why Jenna would leave her if she was so important. "I don't know! I'm not her," she retorted. Then he went on to talk about how Jenna might just be out hunting or something. Did this wolf not know anything, or did he just think she was a paranoid freak?

"She's been gone for at least a week," she informed him, her voice sharp. "That's a pretty long hunt."

Sighing in frustration, she turned around, as if to leave. "Anyways, I have to search for her. If you see her just tell her that Hallie is looking for her." Shaking her head, she sighed once more then stalked off. What a bad way to start the day.

----------

Ehrek nodded, she had a reason to snap back like she did. Ehrek didn't know that Jenna had been gone for a week. Maybe something has happened to her. The male shook any horrid thoughts out of his head. "I shall keep that in mind." he replied.

As the pup got up to leave he did the same. "Hallie, please take care of yourself." he called back to her before going back to Zac. It was only when he was only a few feet from the other male, and in sight, did he notice he forgot to get a snack for him.

Malady x Alianne x Hallie

It had been a long time, too long in fact, since Hallie had last seen her friend Jenna. What had happened to that wolf? One day they were laughing and giggling and having so much fun and the next she was running around frantically, trying to find the other. It scared her that she couldn't find any trace of her friend, and it only made her feel worse with all of the worry feelings.

Groaning, she stumbled onwards through the bush. Her paws hurt and her stomach grumbled and complained. She hadn't eaten in at least two days. Life without Jenna seemed so hard now. The most she could catch nowadays was mice and perhaps a small squirrel.

"Gotta find water, then food," she told herself out loud, her ears falling back in concentration. Her mother had taught her how to surive, and she wasn't about to go soft because she had gone a little with some help and now didn't have that help anymore. No, that wouldn't do.

Determined now more than ever, the small female trekked onward. She would stay alive and find her sister. She would.

----------

Malady stumbled over a rock and pitched foreward making no attempt to catch herself. Mind whirling over recent events there were just too few brain cells left to help her with everyday things. Not that she really had too many to begin with.

As yet another pup had somehow ended up in the tangled mess Malady had given up on any attempts at protest. She instead regarded them all utterly terrified.

"Aren't you going to even say anything?" Alianne was rather doubtful that she was in capable hands. It had caught her by complete surprise when Meskeet had declared the pup in Malady's charge.

"I is knowing." Malady fumbled as she fell yet again with a yelp and attempted to claw her way into a stance. On a simple worth path it really wasn't that difficult either.

Alianne shook her head. Knowing? Knowing what?

As she watched a squirrel run up a tree she wondered if knowing was something she should have been doing more of when she'd first found the dark brown wolf.

----------

Small ears swiveled around as paws stopped in their tracks. The female believed she had heard some others, but she couldn't be quite sure. Was it possibly her hunger driving her slowly insane? After all, she had been rather stressed lately, and she had heard that hunger did nothing to help that.

"Aren't you going to even say anything?"

Hallie's nose twitched. Now she was sure that she had heard something and that it wasn't just in her imagination. She couldn't have just made that voice up. No way, no how.

Changing her direction, she began trotting silently in the direction she had heard the voices come from. She knew that there were powers in numbers, and perhaps if she allied herself with some wolves or made some friends that would actually stick around... It wasn't like she was clinging to others to get free food or anything, nothing like that. Hallie was perfectly capable of taking care of herself (or so she thought) but she knew that she was only a puppy. She had enough sense to know that she should look for a pack or something to stick with until she was a least a little older.

Feeling as if she was growing ever closer, she slowed her pace until she was almost sneaking. She then poked her head through a bush, her nose still twitching. Not too far away, she spotted a white pup and some strange-looking older wolf. They seemed harmless enough, but she kept her guard up anyhow.

"Hey," she called, though not too loud. The older one looked a bit uncoordinated and she didn't want to cause a fright.

"You two lost?" Okay, so she couldn't think of anything else to say.

----------

As the sound of a third voice filled the air something clicked in Malady's head and she dropped in a pile onto the ground. Odd muffled sounds could be heard as she thoughtlessly attempted to bury her head in the dust and hide herself. So many puppies! She would need lots of pinecones to get over this.

Alianne was less intimidated. Her head swung around and she took a step back at the sight of someone new. Why she was so surpised to see unfamiliar faces she still hadn't figured out. It was quite obvious her range of friends was limited painfully.

Glancing back at the 'adult' she sighed and flicked an ear at the tanner pup. She was obviously older, but Alianne didn't concider herself that far behind.

"Not yet. We're looking for something to eat. Can we help you?"

It was a silly question to ask since it wasn't exactly as if they were better off. The other pup looked hungry herself. Ali hoped Meskeet would find some place to move them all. A half full stomach didn't settle her well at night.

Malady sat whimpering and only now did she raise her head and peer fear stricken at the new arrival.

----------

Hallie tilted her head at the older female's reaction. She seemed a bit crazed, trying to bury her head in the ground like that. She looked like some type of overgrown gopher when she did that. It tickled her and she had to restrain herself to keep from laughing out loud. To help keep herself from bursting up, she focused her attention on the pup, who didn't seem that much younger than herself.

"Oh," was all she could say at first. It hadn't really seemed to her like they were lost. Well, it didn't seem like the pup had been lost, anyways.

"I was looking for something to eat too. I thought that maybe if there were others around they could point me to some food." But it seemed that these two were having just as much trouble as she, perhaps a little more with the way that weird one was acting.

"Maybe I could help you two?" she offered, surprising herself a little. She wasn't a mean wolf, really, but then she wasn't the nicest either. She usually preferred to hunt for herself and be independent, as it was in her blood. But in this case, she supposed, it didn't hurt to get some help.

----------

Malady tuned them out. The world was far easier to handle that way. Intead she grinned crazily at a lead and poked it curiously with her nose. She didn't have problems with food. Nope nope nope! There were plenty of pinecones for her. Whose fault was it those pups woudln't eat them? The pups' of course! Plenty or perfectly good pine cones going to waste because of picky little eaters.

Demented little things. She scrunged herself up thinking about them. Hopefully they couldn't see her and would go away. Scary things.

As a bug crawled from the leaf on to her nose she shrieked and frantically ran herself into a tree to get it off. And she slumped dazed at the base of the trunk she stared up into the sun in an attempt to gather her wits.

They were causing bugs to attack her! Little magicians.

Ali jumped nervously as she heard sounds from Malady's antics behind her. Did she dare look? No. What she saw would probably be as sad as she imagined. And she didn't need confirmation.

Head slightly lower she gazed hopeful at the other. "Help would be nice."

Furekatsu Anjiru x Tamiko-chan
Wyatt x Kalia

Kal was terribly beaten. Not beaten physically, but definitely beaten emotionally and mentally. She had been traveling for a few days now--going on and on without stopping to eat or rest--attempting to get as far away as possible from the lands she had once called home with her mate. Since he had blown up on her like that... she hadn't thought of anything else besides running, running far away. She was afraid that he'd hunt her down, that he'd beat her.

A sharp pain in her side caused her to stop suddenly, her paws skidding and sliding a little on the wet dirt. She blinked and lifted her head slightly. She was at a stream. A quiet, peaceful stream. The sight made her sick to her stomach.

Running through the water and leaving large splashes in her wake, the female quickly moved away from the stream. She didn't know why, but everything around her reminded her of her past, both the distant and the not-so-distant. It was the reason she had been running for so long and running for such a great distance.

Stopping again due to another sharp pain in her side, Kalia lifted her head once more. This time, she was somewhere in a forest, thickly populated with trees of all sorts.

She was lost in location. All parts of her life matched one another now.

----------

Half way between drowning and the shore Wyatt had made a rather important decision for the first time in his life. He loved the water. Really really really loved it.

The whole gasping for breath, vision fading, stuff was a bit of a draw back. But that was just part of the experience. It was painfully obvious he couldn't swim for beans. But the youth never once realized that himself.

And he hadn't met a soul yet who was willing to crush his delight with that fact.

Rolling in the mud and kicking his hind feet in unison into the air Wyatt rubed his head until he'd satisfied an itch then twisted awkwardly to his feet. The mud dripped onto his muzzle from his flicks ears with small 'Spats'.

But he smelled someone. And he smelled saddness. Or atleast he thought it was saddness. Somehow the small teen had recieved the idea that emotions gave scents. This one called to him.

Bounding further down the stream Wyatt glanced happily about until a grey wolf appeared. Mud shed itself as best it could from his coat. Ever since venturing from his birth pack Wyatt had run into very few other wolves.

----------

The female's nose twitched. She may have been completely beaten and worn out, but that didn't stop her from keeping tabs on her surroundings and making sure that no one would be able to sneak up on her. A good thing, too, since she smelled someone... a male. Instantly all of her senses went on high alert.

Lifting her head, she turned about to look straight at a young male, probably not even in adulthood yet. It wasn't Catalyst, and that at least made her sigh in relief. But he was still male. At this point, she didn't trust any of them.

Her hackles rose slightly in a threatening manner as her lips were pulled back in a silent snarl. It was obvious, however, by the sadness in her eyes and the droop of her tail that she wasn't so serious. Her spirit and her soul were just withering and rotting away, leaving almost nothing left in her to fight. Nonetheless, she took pride in the fact that she was a rather strong female, and she wouldn't go down without at least some sort of struggle.

"What do you want, boy?" she rasped, her throat dry from running all day and having had nothing to drink.

----------

Dancing on his toes for a few moments just grinning it occured to Wyatt in one sudden instant that he was around someone who could have easily hurt him.

Just like that he dropped mid step onto the ground and rolled over onto his back. Tail waving back and forth happily the male looked up at the obviously adult female. She didn't look happy. Nope. Not happy at all.

"Hi hi! I came to say hello! What's wrong?" He asked with a little less enthusiasm so as not to sound rude. "You don't look so happy, and it's a beau-ti-ful day!"

Wiggling some he watched her upside-down with his tongue lolling out of the corner of his mouth.

----------

Kalia's stance relaxed, the anger fading from her features. She blinked down at the male.

Yep, he was stupid.

Sighing, she lowered her head then sat down on her haunches, her legs thankful for the rest after all of that running. She may have been a strong, fit wolf, but that didn't mean she didn't give out at some point in time. She had actually lost all the strength to run a couple of hours ago, but she had pushed herself, made her jelly-feeling legs to move onward. She couldn't stop.

"Is it such a beautiful day?" she replied bitterly, though her tone was also laden with complete sadness. Her life was miserable right now, and she wasn't so keen on seeing the beauty in anything around her.

"And I'm just tired," she half-lied to him, her legs shaking. He didn't need to know all the details of her personal life. After all, he was just a boy. There was no need for her to go putting horrible thoughts into his head with her life's stories.

----------

Fortunately for the adolescent notes and tones seemed to easily pass him by. With a giggle in his throat he peered at her with adoring eyes. He really really really loved meeting wolves. Especially for the first time.

"Why yes it is! The birds are singing, the butterflies are dancing the jive, and the river is practically trying to hug you." He chirped. The world was beautiful in his mind. Always.

Tail thumping from side to side Wyatt closed his eyes. "Maybe you should take a nap? Or sing! The birds sing, and they're always happy. I don't know why they do. But it's always good to hear." Rolling on to his said he stretched his legs.

"Birds don't sing because they have all the answers you know. They sing because they have songs."

----------

Kalia rolled her eyes. This wolf really was just an air head. He kept blabbing on about birds and flowers or something of that sort. She really didn't follow any of it. Instead she let her mind drift to distant memories. Her son. Her oldest son. The son she had had before she had come to this place. Where was he? What was he doing now? Was his father--

She choked. She didn't want to think of her old mate, she shouldn't be thinking about him. He was the whole reason her life was such a mess.

Shaking her head, the gray wolfess perked her ears and focused her attention back on the young male before her. He had finished talking by now, and she figured she should say a little something to him so she didn't seem completely rude or anything.

"I just don't feel good, okay kid?" she sighed, sinking down to her belly and resting her head on her crossed paws. "I didn't exactly have a good past few days."

----------

But Wyatt didn't seem to notice that the adult had paid little attention to him. Instead he curled into himself and watched her curiously.

"What'd you do the past few days?" He knew what he'd done. He'd followed some butterflies. Eaten some berries. Laid down and watched the clouds as his stomach went through sumersalts. And fallen asleep where ever.

That sure did leave one aching in the morning. But that was ok. He was really 'roughing it'. Like Sawyer must have been doing.

It just wasn't as easy as he'd hoped.

"Can I follow you? I haven't found really any of my friends. And you don't look hungry. Can I can I, oh please?"

----------

Kalia blinked at the male. He was being a bit nosey there, asking her what she'd done for the past few weeks. Just because she had mentioned it didn't mean that he could prod further into the subject. She narrowed her eyes at him, debating whether or not she should tell him.

"I've just had some hard travels," she stated simply, clipping away the details and just leaving a vague summary of her past few days. And hey, it wasn't completely lying anyways. She had had a rough past couple of days.

When he asked her if he could follow her, she looked at him like he was crazy or had rabies or something.

"Uhm.." she hesitated, not really knowing what to say. She didn't exactly want some bird brain following her around, but then again she had no excuse not to let him. She needed a distraction, she supposed, and he sure was proving to be a good one. Maybe.. just for a little while..

"Aah, I suppose you can. Just... don't bother me too much," she sighed, looking down at the ground.

What had she gotten herself into?
