Sure, get her friend to back her up, that was a great way to prove a point. Still skeptical, Karan shrugged. Even if the girl had forgotten something like that- unlikely, but possible- the pieces didn't fit together. "It wasn't that long ago, you know. And why did you think it was someone else, if you knew that you didn't remember things?" That part made Karan the most confused, but there was more that fueled his annoyance. "It's not fair of you to blame me for you not remembering something, anyway."
"Ooooh, Verde-chan's a reader, huh?" Ying elbowed Verde teasingly, but also in a very friendly way. And why not? They were obviously friends by that point. "Sounds like you're a regular bookworm!"
Wincing a little, Yeine quickly interjected. "You sound very educated. Eriol-niisan reads a lot too. You'd probably like him. Do you have anything special you like to read about?"
Feeling more than a little left out of things, Xue headed over towards the newcomers who didn't seem involved in conversation- the ghosts. They looked strange! In an interesting, why-do-they-look-like-that way.
HELLO. Xue is Xue. Nice to meet strange people! 3nodding

"I was just suggesting that you met someone who looked like me, and that you might have mistaken me for that person!" Mayu said, voice raising in volume slightly. "It's possible. And if it really was me that you met, I was simply stating my point that I don't remember a thing about the meeting!"
Turning to Verde and the other girls, Mayu waited for a point to jump into the conversation. She was getting a bit tired of defending her case at that point, and she wasn't quite feeling like arguing at the moment.
"What're you talking about?" she asked, peering over Verde's shoulder curiously.
Allowing a smile, Verde nodded in response to Ying's playful teasing. It was true, she had to admit.
"I'm more fond of nonfiction than fiction, I suppose," she replied, after thinking over the question a bit. "It's more.. fun, I guess, to learn about actual things than to read some made-up fairy tale."
"" Miroku said, elbowing Kuro sharply. Thinning his eyes at Xue, the man opened his mouth to protest against being called strange.. and was quickly muffled by the other ghost.
"" he flailed, attempting to pull Kuro's hand off of his mouth so he could get a word in. The other held fast, chuckling nervously at Xue as he tried to calm his rambunctuous friend.
"Hello," Kuro said slowly, voice thick with a Japanese accent. "I'm Kuro, and this is Miroku." He pointed to himself, and then the struggling man besides him, whose mouth he was still muffling with one hand. "Nice to meet... Xue?" he tried, though the words which came from his mouth were nearly incomprehensible to a native English-speaker. Oh, how he wished he had taken the offer of learning to speak English sometimes! It wasn't much help if one was able to understand the spoken words, but not to speak them himself.

Oh, so she was going to ignore him? Well, two could play at that game. Hurt and confused, Karan turned on his heel and marched back to the door, gabbing Xue's rolled up sleeve on the way. "Come on. We're gonna find the teacher."
Hello Kuro and Miroku Xue is happy to meet-
Before Xue could finish his thought, he was dragged away. Why is Karan so angry? Xue didn't do anything wrong, did he? sad
"No, you didn't," Karan muttered. "But someone is."
"Really?" Ying wrinkled her nose. "I don't really like reading nonfiction. Most of it's so boring. I like fairy tales, with knights and princesses and dragons and everything. Oooh, and romance stories. And some comics too. I think people imagine more interesting stuff."
Yeine shrugged. She didn't really have a preference either way, but most of her reading time was spent on studying lightsaber diagrams and droid repair manuals, and whatever instructional materials she could get her hands on. Reading was for education, not fun.

The sound of boots echoing on linoleum tile brought the chattering of the room to a stop, all eyes turning to the teacher of the class, whom had just returned from a small bathroom break.
"Erm, yes," the middle-aged woman started, clearing her throat as she made her way over to the easel which was set up at the head of the class, "please continue whatever project you were working on before I had to leave the room." With a meandering gaze over the class, though still not noticing the four girls whom were seated right in front of her eyes, the teacher gave a contented nod and began her slow walk around the classroom in search of kids in need of help.
Mayu, noticing the arrival of the teacher, looked up and gave a polite grin before looking back to the others for a point where she could jump in the conversation. She contented herself by propping her arms on Verde's head, leaning her head down on the Jumi's green mass of curly hair.
Verde wrinkled her nose at the sudden weight on her cranium, though a calm expression remained on her face.
"Well, there are real princes and princesses in Gaia, and definately dragons. You just have to know what to look for in nonfiction. You know, a lot of people say that truth can be stranger than fiction." She gave a quaint smile to Ying and Yeine both, eyes moving to observe the teacher as she walked around the room.

"Yeah, I guess," Ying said slowly, not entirely convinced. "But you know, if something actually happened then there's only so much you can know about it. But if it's a made-up story, you can keep going and going as long as you want. And anyone can add whatever they like." It was more the act of telling and creating stories that interested Ying than reading or learning. If she got to play in the world in her head, she would be happy.
Prodding Ying's shoulder gently, Ying cast an anxious glance at the teacher. "Maybe we should go. Won't we get in trouble if she catches us in the wrong class?"
Ying shook her head. "No way, Yeinie! Besides, we haven't even done anything yet!"
From a table a few feet away, Karan glared at the gaggle of girls, looking over the lump of clay that he had been trying to mold. If they didn't leave, he was going to make them leave. Using whatever means necessary.

Verde shrugged, not caring to debate over something as trivial as this. She wasn't really one for arguments anyway, likely to sway to simply quiet down after she had decided how useless it was to try and change someone's opinion.
"So... what titles do you like?" she asked, not caring to watch the teacher any longer. It was obvious that the lady hadn't noticed them yet in the few minutes that she had been in the room.
Mayu really did not have anything to add to the conversation, so instead she amused herself with fluffing up and smoothing down Verde's hair. This kept her busy for a few moments before she turned her attention to everyone else on the room, watching the kids paint and mold statues out of clay happily. She grumbled quietly, getting bored at having nothing to do.
Maybe they would just have to find their own supplies, if the teacher wasn't going to pay attention to them. This was almost worse than the martial arts class!

Titles? Ying wasn't book-savvy enough to keep track of those. "I'm not sure," she admitted sheepishly. "I usually just go on reccomendations. Eri-niisan and Lin-chan both read more than I do. They're really smart."
"Ying is more active," Yeine offered. The way Ying was talking made it sound like she was belittling herself, and the Cathar wouldn't allow that. "She helps me with my training, and she would be good at sports and stuff. If we stayed in class, she'd be great."
Ying rolled her eyes. "This is way more fun. Or it would be, if we were doing something." She looked around, grinning when she saw a stack of paper and a couple pairs of scissors abandoned on a nearby table. Hopping off her stool, she quickly retrieved them. Then, on second thought, she grabbed hold of the table and tugged. "Maybe we can bring the table over here!"

The kids sitting at said table gave a cry as they felt the table being inched away from them, their art supplies on it. They first tugged back, then decided to just move their stools where the table went. It was much easier, and they could save their strength for more important things... like sculpting a tower, for example.
"I was just thinking that we could go sit at a table instead..." Mayu mumbled, slightly surprised at Ying's way of reasoning. She gave a slight shrug, hopping off of her stool and carrying it over to where Ying had brought the table, to save the girl some trouble. She picked out a nice shade of pink from the colored papers in the stack, snipping at it thoughtfully with a pair of scissors until she ended up with some form of lopsided flower.
Verde followed Mayu's example, carrying her stool over and placing it next to where her sister was seated. She watched the other children work on their art projects thoughtfully, not caring to make one herself --- she didn't consider herself much of an artist, and she wanted to watch the others for a little while before even attempting to make her own piece.
The teacher hadn't noticed a thing, busy helping fix up a child's painting over at the other end of the room. She had taken the shouts of surprise as shouts of glee instead, and smiled to herself quietly as she continued to focus her attention on the canvas in front of her.

Ying looked up in surprise. There were kids there? She thought that it was empty, but then, she was only really paying attention to the end next to her. "Oh! Sorry, didn't see you!" she apologized, dropping the table back to the floor with a slight thump. When she thought about it, carrying the stools over made more sense. They were, after all, lighter.
A bit more worried about what others would think than Ying was, Yeine quickly bowed at the others. "I'm sorry. She didn't mean anything bad by it."
"Yeinie, come on!" Ying had seated herself next to Mayu and was busy folding a sheet of white paper into a triangle. She then took a pair of scissors and began to snip shapes out of it. It was fun, and a lot more interesting than sitting around, she had to admit.
Karan just watched in disgust from his table. When the girls took seats at a nearby table, he decided that he'd had enough. He raised his hand, waving it frantically in hopes that the teacher would notice.

"I don't think I'm that good at paper cutting," Mayu frowned, holding up her paper flower and looking it over. The petals were all at different lengths and had some kind of flaw in each --- one was too sharp, another too round, and one just looked plain like a rectangle. "Maybe I should try drawing something instead..."
She looked around the table for a pencil or a crayon of some kind, grabbing another piece of paper off of the stack.
Verde took a piece of paper from the stack as well, snipping large sections out of it until she had gotten a nice square. She folded the paper once, twice, and three times, continuing to crease it until she had gotten a paper crane. She had read a book on origami once, and was testing her memory to see if she had remembered the patterns. Taking the small strips of paper, she cut squares out of those as well, folding each of them to become tiny cranes that surrounded the large one she had made earlier.
Noticing Karan's hand, the teacher shoved her hands in her pockets and nodded, shuffling over slowly.
"What's the problem here?" she asked, looking up for a moment to survey the room before looking back down at the boy.

"Really?" Ying paused her own work to glance at Mayu's flower, and scrutinized it carefully. "I think it's pretty. Like sort of and abstract thing. Or maybe a flower that nobody knows exists yet!" She snipped another part of her paper off, then unfolded it, revealing an uneve, eight-sided shape with squares and diamonds and squiggly shapes cut out symmetrically.
Yeine admired Mayu's flower and Ying's snowflake, but her eyes were on the teacher. "I think we're going to get in trouble if we stay here much longer," she murmured. "Karan looks mad."
Frowning, Ying looked over and shrugged. "It's not just his class. Relax, Yeinie, have fun. Wow! Those cranes are so cute, Verde-chan! It's like a mommy crane with all its babies!"
Karan, in the meantime, was busy in conference with the teacher. He was whispering, so his words weren't audible from the other side of the room, but he was pointing at the girls and making movements with his hands, even going so far as to raise his edge of the table in demonstration.

Mayu had already found herself a box of crayons, and was scribbling on her paper quite happily with no color sense whatsoever. Lots and lots of pretty flowers went on one side of the picture, while a slightly disfigured drawing of herself and her family members went on the other side.
She looked up at Yeine, and then back down at the flower, frowning as she looked at it once more.
"If you want, you can keep it?" she said, tilting her head slightly to get another view of it. "I think it looks like a mess. Your snowflake looks really nice, though..."
Verde finished off her final crane, putting them to one side in an arrangement before starting on another sheet of paper, this time trying a more difficult pattern.
"I like your snowflake, too. It looks really... nice," she said, not able to think of a better word, looking up at Ying in mid-fold.
The teacher nodded as she listened to Karan, looking over to the girls with a thoughtful gaze.
"Well, they paid for classes here at the center, and if they were bored enough with the ones they were taking elsewhere, then I think it would be okay to let them transfer... for today?"
She mumbled to herself a bit, biting her lip as she thought over the situation once more. Then again, she didn't want to cause an uproar with whatever teacher they had about "stealing their students"...

Brushing her fingers over the flower, Ying brightened. "Really? Well, then I'm going to make something for you too," she declared, picking up another sheet of paper and folding it with gusto. "What shapes do you like? Flowers, I guess."
It was obvious to Yeine that she wasn't going to make any progress with Ying. She probably wouldn't make any with Mayu either. Instead she tried to talk to Verde, who despite being younger, seemed like the most dependable of the bunch. "Are you having fun, Verde-chan?"
"But they're getting in everyone's way!" Karan protested loudly, pointing directly at Ying and Mayu. In his mind, those two were the ringleaders, the ones most deserving of punishment. "They just came in and took over, and you're not even going to do anything?" What were teachers for then, anyway?

"Flowers and hearts," Mayu nodded, "and bunnies!"
She examined her drawing for a moment before folding it into quarters, tucking it into her sleeve. She took another piece of paper, selecting some suitable crayons out of the box she had found.
"I'll draw the four of us," she declared, a proud look on her face.
"It's... fun, I guess," Verde replied in her whisper of a voice, eyes focused on her rapidly moving hands. She had almost completed a large butterfly, finishing up the last few folds before setting it upon the table and repeating her motions with a smaller square of paper.
"What are you making?" the Jumi looked up, glancing over to Yeine's section of the table before looking back down at the paper in her hands.
The argument had attracted a few eyes at Karan's outburst, the teacher holding up her hands to signify that everything was fine. As the kids went back to work, the woman looked back down at the boy, trying to figure out a proper solution to this problem. No matter how hard she tried, there would always end up with a kid screaming over something.
"How about this?" she proposed, tapping her chin with one finger in thought. "I'll wait to watch those girls, and if they cause any disturbances, I'll take them back to the class they came from. Is that okay?"

"Gotcha. Flowers and hearts and bunnies. Mind if I add some diamonds in too?" Ying had already started to cut into the paper, and a small pile of confetti was growing under her scissors. The paper didn't resemble much more than a mangled triangle, but Ying was still cutting away happily.
Yeine blushed, caught off guard, and folded her hands on the table. "I haven't done anything," she admitted. "I'm not really very good at this sort of thing. I know how to sew, but not much artsy stuff."
It really wasn't okay with Karan, but he wasn't about to go up against a teacher. Not yet, anyway. Those girls were so noisy that they would probably get themselves kicked out soon enough anyway. He just had to be patient.
