she almost shifted!!!!! omg...hahahaha...

sorry...i thought it was about time she had the pregnancy scare...no one can have that much sex w/o the scare...unless they dont have the organs...or they're lucky as hell...even on BC accidents happen...

and the fact that she could have shifted...
what if they didnt know about the potential baby...would they have still stopped the shift???
^.^ makes you wonder huh?!

I didn't really like the book. Like Narnia said there was no substance. It was like watching your favorite tv show that ran so long they now simply have episodes full of filler.

I'm glad she's not pregnant. That would've made me stop reading for good.

With that said Anita is such a slut. It's sometimes funny. That doesn't even bother me really. Sleep with whoever and how many you want, but I just get tired of having chapters full of nothing but sex with various characters I don't care to know. There's officially too many names for me to remember. There's no way she'll get to give them any depth. The bed is too crowded for any one new comer to be noticed. That's pretty sad since most of the characters I do know and love are being ripped apart by the ardeur and lack of author inspiration.

The one good thing I can remember is the ballet. It was nicely done even if it did take me back to the Interview with the Vampire scene involving the Theatre des Vampires. I would've like to seen Anita have to battle Merlin, Adonis and their people. That could've made a good book on it's own.

The ending was total and utter crap. So anti clamatic. It just really disappointed me.

I also found the book to be hugely disappointing (and I'm anti cocky Nathaniel, I don't know why, but he's less endearing that way.) and a waste except for 10 pages at the most.

What bothers me is, she introduces us to great characters, but if Anita's not sleeping with them, we'll just know their name and maybe see them in the background.

For instance, Wicked Truth. They are mentioned and you see them in Danse Macebre. When my mother asked Ms. Hamilton if we were going to learn more about them (as she just kinda left them off) her reply was that the "Dance card was full." We don't want Wicked Truth to sleep with Anita, we just want to learn more about them.

Things I did like:

Cookie (he was so different than the other guys physically and mentally)
Cookie leaving. (I don't know why, I just didn't want him to stay.
Asher finally getting an animal, and one that actually suites him.
Nathaniel and Jason enjoying the ballet (sweetness).
Sampson and his family. I even like his mother. 3nodding
Richard. ^_^ *Is a Richard supporter*

Things I didn't like:

Yes, Anita is getting better, but I'm sick and tired of her complaining over and over of the same things in each book.
The 2 day bedroom scene spanding over 200 pages.
No Zebrowski, and Ms. Hamilton's rather ruined Dolph like she did Richard.
How JC and Richard have gotten to the back burner, and it's all about Micah and Nathaniel (I really loved them, in an endearing way, but now it's all about them)

That's all I can think of now. I'm just hoping her next book will be better, or I don't know if I can continue to read them, even for Mommie Dearest.

**I heard somewhere that Richard is based off of an ex? If so, that's really unfair to her readers and the character.

I wished she was pregnant. It would make me laugh in her face. Hahahahahaha. Like that. I mean seriously, I think it would be great. All the guys would be like: eek And then Anita would be like: crying And then Richard would be like: heart XD I do not know I think it would make it more interesting because the books are becoming to repetitive.

It used to have oomph in them. But now its all about sex and I feel like all the characters personas have changed besides Jason. No matter how much Richard is an a**. yes caps, i still love him but I love Asher more...maybe. >< I don't know I used to respect Anita but now I just think of her as a whore. -shakes head- I am disappointed. Truly.

I just finished the book last night. Huge disappointment. It made a great smut book but I don't like to read a book that has so much sex that the main story arc takes backseat to it. I mean really, how many times was there a fully described sex scene in there? It's like she had sex 20ish times in just the span of 3 days. I'm all for good healthy sex but damn. I really felt like the introduction of new characters was a half assed attempt with the exception of Auggie, Samuel, Cookie Monster, and Thea. Merlin and his troupe were so two dimensional that I just didn't care. I despised the ending. Wake up in hospital, sit and chat with Asher who's all morose and drama queen and then sum up all the huge plot points in a paragraph. Thanks Laurell I really wanted it so I could read the first 3 chapters and find out everything's wrong go through a whole book of vapid shallow poorly written material and then find that you've half assed the answers at the very end. It's slapping your readers in the face when you take the entirety of the book and sum it up for them with all the answers in a paragraph. The ONLY reason I will pick up the Harlequin is Edward. I think I'm done with the series though because lets face it, Anita as a character is too muddled and gorged on power to offer us a good serious storyline anymore. It's sad too because there are bits and pieces of the series even now that have so much potential. I love Claudia and the bodyguards. I love Jason and miss that he doesn't have as big a role now. I think the Marmee Noir possibilities are endlessly awesome and she's a great character. I'd love to see Belle and Anita have a face to face showdown. I miss Zerbrowski and even Dolph and the RPIT team. There's so many things but they'll always get brushed aside for sex and the ardeur and the fights.

I sooooo agree with the last post. I don't want to sound prudish, because I love sex as much as the next person. But I fell in love with the action packed, story driven, can't read fast enough and surely can't put the book down anticipation of what kind of trouble has she gotten into this time & who is going to try to kill her..... that was in GP - OB.

The only action left in these books is sex. I feel numb to the sex now. I just want it to be over. There is just nothing left of the story except when, how & who she is going to sleep with next.

I love this series and I have all my hopes riding on the next book. If any book has the potential to bring back the plot rich stories that I love, it is one with Edward in it.

I feel betrayed to be honest. Laurell has taken her original fanbase and thuroughly given them the finger. She claims sales are good for her books, and maybe they are but that's because she's got a different audience. Those who read bodice busters aren't necessarily looking for much of a storyline or background. Those of us who started with Guilty Pleasures and picked it up because it was about a strong female protagonist who had flaws, power, guts, and could kick the s**t out of you picked it up for the action, the storyline. Who's friend? Who's foe? Who's going to get their teeth kicked in for doing/saying something stupid to Anita? Those are questions we asked; now we ask "When is the action going to pick back up?" "When will the storyline and plot develop further?" "Why doesn't Laurell recognize her original fanbase anymore?" Seriously I wish I could ask Laurell why she's abandoned us and told us to go ******** ourselves.

I totally agree with the last couple of posts. Laurell really has told her original fan base to ******** off. I never thought about it that way until Draven mentioned it but it's so true. This last book was proof. There's no more action that doesn't involve a p***s or three. It's ridiculous. She's the only author who can make come off as anti-sexual.

Further proof would be her comment about the Wicked Truth that Vampire Alice mentioned. Why even bother to pick remotely kick a** names and build shadows around it just for them to stay shadows? A few of those sex scenes could go towards building substance around all the characters she insists on throwing into these stories. At this point I really could care less about them and sorta fear that soon the books will be filled with nothing but characters who serve no purpose but to fill up [Anita's] space.

What happened to good old days filled with characters like Raina who I didn't really like but loved to hate? She's even ruined Belle Morte. She went from potential danger in my eyes to someone's senile and very bored grandma who only calls to tell you how much you've disappointed her and ask if you've seen her teeth.

My hopes are riding on Edward too.
