The name I wonder also how to pronounce is....Esme.
Is it pronounced as if there was an accent on it....For example: Esmé? (Then it would be pronounced as Es-may.
Or is it pronounced as Esmee
I've always pronounced her name as if there was an accent on the last e. Don't know the actual pronounciation...

Jereni_06 I pronounce it Car-lye-il (like carl, then aisle, as in grocery store aisle. jeez. i don't know if i'm spelling aisle right. i don't think i am... o.0 anyway, yeah that's how it's pronounced.) Really? Yay, I did it right! rofl

yeah, the only reason I knew how to pronounce it is because there is a guy at my school with that name!

At first I thought it was pronounced CAR-seal. gonk
Now I just call him Carl in my head. Until I learned how to pronounce Hermione (thought it was Her-MEE-one for the longest time), I just called her Hermy or Harmony.
Ooh, someone else brought up a good point...how do you say Esme? I used to say Es-SEAM. I still call her that in my head.
You know what this guild needs...a pronounciation guide! sweatdrop

Personally, I think Esme is Ez-May.

I just know that all the other Esmes I've seen are
pronounced that way; and surprisingly, I've encountered -
be it fiction or real-life - , a lot of them.
I personally think it's a very pretty name.

i pronounce it Ez-may but that is because one of my friend's mom is named Esme and it is pronounced Ez-may
and Carlisle i never knew was pronounced Carlyle.....i think Car-lee-sle pronouncing sounds better and more different so i am sticking with my way in my mind
and for Debussy
how do u pronounce it i have been doing it a Day- bu- say

I used to pronounce it as Car-lizzle, but after reading Twilight, New Moon AND Eclipse, I found out it was actually carl-EYE-ll..
But I'm still in the habit of "car-lizzle"ing when I read. gonk
