Some Ino fans and a lot of anti-Sakura-ers hate Sakura because of the way Sakura decided to end their friendship just like that. They say Sakura was such a biyatch to let go of Ino just because she was obssessed with Sasuke.
Well, I say that she decided to be Ino's rival because she wanted to stop being Ino's shadow and be recognized for being Sakura, not just "Ino's friend".
What I don't get is that why other people don't get this! I know it's quite unorthodox to try to be your own person by breaking off ties from your friends, but Sakura's way of being her own person was to stop being known as "Ino's shadow".
What are your thoughts on this? The problem here is that most Anti-Sakura fans don't realize this until one of us points it out. And sometimes, even then it's hard for them to let go of their prejudice and accept that Sakura has become something else now. Though, I do admit, it's blantantly obvious after the scene in which Sakura cuts off her hair, and especially during her fight against Ino in the Chuunin exams, that Sakura is her own character and didn't break off her friendship just because "she was obsessed about some boy." If I could find a specific quote (which I can't at the moment), Sakura takes off her headband and ties it around her forehead before saying to Ino something along the lines of "This isn't a fight about Sasuke."
I think Sakura ended it to stop being a Shadow. Ino Jr. In another sense. If she would have stayed friends with Ino then she would have been another Ino, people would think Sakura second. Like Ino and Sakura. But when she ended their friendship, not over a boy, that may have been an excuse, but over the fact that Sakura wanted to be her own person. I think that Ino was mad because she felt that she was ungreatful for what she had done. But during the Pre-lims, when Ino was getting read to hit her she smacked her instead. And I think that Sakura thought that she wasnt being taken seriously by her. I think when they fight, she just want to prove herself to Ino. Ino has always been strong, pretty, perfect. While Sakura had to work to get where she has been.
So by the ending of their friendship before, it was Sakura taking time to work on being her own person. And alot of Ino fans hate her for that. Which I dont see why. I hear "Annyoing" But Ino acted the exact same way before. Both of them grew up. At different times I mean, such as, Sakura began to grow up in part one. But Ino's real maturity, I think is yet to come. Yes, she has grown up since her and Sakura became friends again, and let Sasuke go. But I think That Ino is going to grow mega huge during this fight with Hidan over Asuma. Because, Ino lost someone precious to her. And with that, she becomes stronger and knows the feeling of loss. And with this, I can see Sakura and Ino's friendship growing because they are grown up.
More or less I see them as friends because of their differences. I love Sakura for ending the friendship. I really do, If she didnt Sakura wouldnt be who she is today, Ino wouldnt be who she is today, and both of them wouldnt be my favorite characters. Thats the way see it. It happened and they became their own people from it.

Why do you like Sakura?
She was one of thoose weak But I can do it kinda girls I think its important the way she was made, It showed that even though she Ws A ROOKIE & A WOMAN she could be as tough as the rest of the boys.
What are some of your favorite "Sakura moments"?
The second part of the tsunin Exam, She defended her teamates even though it would have cost her own life.
What do you expect from her in future chapters?
She'll get stronger and kick-but.Along the side of her friends.
With whom do you usually pair her? Why?
Sasuske, Im a major Fan of angst so....Well her and Sasuske love&hate...
Do you prefer her with long hair or short hair?
Long.She looked better in my simple opinion.

Why do you like Sakura?
I like her because, shes pretty,shes kind, and she kicks A.S.S! The begining and the after the time-skip (i love those boots O.O) If you ask me,she would've become more strong in the begining if the boys weren't always protecting her and not realy letting her fight.

Shes strong emotionaly and physicaly. Sakura embodies human weaknesses and therefore is the character you can relate to more often.
What are some of your favorite "Sakura moments"?
When they meet up with sasuke after 2 and a half years.

Sakura vs. Ino it realy demontrates her will.
Sound nin fight O_O that REALY got me hooked on her
What do you expect from her in future chapters?
I expect her to play a HUGE part in getting sasuke back and (maybe) even helping with Itachi.^_^ she R.O.C.K.S!

Sasuke.
They have that "connection" Sasuke needs her to loosin him up and be more kind.Sakura needs him for something to work hard,and be strong for.
Plus i have a very strong feeling about it becoming a cannon xd kishi-san has their relationship on a spotlight right now lol

but i LOVE her better with short hair.Her hair is like a symbol of maturity and strong will.

Blue or black. Red is way better. the reason i say black or blue, is because their SASUKE colors! gonk but red suits her more xd

The website looked real professional and the profiles..i hated it. Ino: the most strongest kunouchi in the village. Ino isn't the strongest female ninja - I doubt she's the strongest genin kunoichi. She probably could hold the title of best kunoichi in Rookie 9 (when they were, yes, ROOKIES) but Sakura managed to catch up to her (as seen in that Chuunin prelim match).
Just look at how Sakura turned out. CHA! Who's being praised by Kakashi as someone who "will surpass the Godaime one day"? Well, it certainly isn't Ino.

I'm a major fan of both the girls. I really can't choose a side.
But, yes, I saw that summary too. What really gets to me is that they always used to portray Sakura as a helpless little girl who couldn't do anything for herself, and has to rely on other people, namely her teammates. She never really was all that weak. Just because people have to jump in and save you, really doesn't prove to that. Having special talents doesn't nessesarily put you at an advantage, either. Rock Lee wasn't able to use any jutsus, but he trained hard, and became a great ninja in his own way. [Major Rock Lee fangirl. 3nodding ]
But Ino, on the other hand, was born with these talents. And she didn't start out being as good as she was either; of course you have to train to get better. In the Chuunin exams, Ino couldn't bring herself to hurt Sakura, because she saw the little girl she met all those years ago. She then stared at herself, amazed at what she almost did, and I have a feeling she was reconsidering about all the things she said.
I also agree with Trusty. She most likely did end her friendship just to prove she doesn't need anyone else, and she doesn't need to rely on people. Instead of walking around behind Ino, feeling sorry for herself, she just wanted to prove that she doesn't need anyone else; that she can stand up for herself.

Why do you like Sakura?
I love Sakura because she's pretty, kind, strong, etc. I also love how she has flaws, that makes her human! <3 She's someone you can relate to, since she was like a normal preteen in the beginning.
What are some of your favorite "Sakura moments"?
Chuunin Exams: Forest of Death, where she fights the Sound Nin and protect Sasuke and Sakura
Timeskip Test: Get the bells! She scared Kakashi and Naruto by making like a 50 m. hole on the ground! 8D
What do you expect from her in future chapters?
I expect her to help get Sasuke back, by kicking a**! >D

Canon: Uchiha Sasuke. Because Sasuke already has a relationship with Sakura, therefore putting off all other relationships with girls. Karin might be an issue though...
Crack: Hyuuga Neji. Why not? They're both my favorite characters, and they look cute together, even though it's crack.

Honestly, she looked good with long hair. But short hair gives her a sense of maturity, and shows that she got over being Sasuke's #1 fangirl.

About the whole Sakura getting out of Ino's shadow thing... How about Ino actually agreeing to that? I mean, if she really wanted to be friends with her, she would've stopped her somewhat.

Why do you like Sakura?
ESSAY TIME!
Sakura at the beginning of the series was pretty plain, with no other defining traits other than her high intelligence and her apparently huge forehead. *still doesn't see the bigness*
She was clingy and boycrazy.
I went online thinking about her, only to see a million anti-sakuraers verbally bash her for the most incredibly stupid reasons.
They hated her pink hair, her peppy attitude, how she never spoke her true feelings and-
HER BOYCRAZYNESS.
I laughed. Most of these fans were female. Almost all teenage girls are boycrazy. I mean for god's sake, look in the mirror.
Sakura was so much more realistic, and thats what first attracted me to her.
I looked more in to her and her relationship with Sasuke. What started as a simple everyday crush developed in to the most beautiful devoted relationship I could ever hope to see. She was so worried about him... I mean, it was like she had completely dedicated her life to watching over him. I grew to totally love her.
And i was in tears when Sasuke left. Her seiyuu is so ******** talented, its not even funny xd so much emotion... and how she was ready to give away her good conscience so she could be with the one she loved.
And after she came back. ohhh, HEROES CAME BACK, ALRIGHT D: She had matured, she was so strong and her intelligence was even higher. And still, after more than two years, her goal was towards Sasuke. She just shocked me. She never ceases to amaze. Yet, she has faults. Not silly weaknesses to, like, Fluride or something that cause her to lose her powers. She has HUMAN flaws. It makes her endearing. I'm gonna stand and protect her until my keyboard wears out! xd

Can you say "Fight with Sasori?" She really went out there and showed her stuff. Her bravery and commitment... totally inspiring~~
What do you expect from her in future chapters?
So much... Although for the manga's sake, I think its gonna be Naruto who has that last stand against Sasuke, but Sakura will have totally torn herself inside out to get there. Probably after some dramatic fight with Karin, in which Sakura wins. xd I can see it happening~ Juugo vs. Kakashi, Suigetsu vs. Sai, Karin vs. Sakura and Naruto vs. Sasuke.
But yes. I'm really expecting a lot.

Caring- Sakura cares so much for Sasuke. As she said, she would kill for him. She is so afraid for his wellbeing. She jumped in front of semi-transformed Shukaku-Gaara to protect him, for the love of god. That raccoon could have maimed her. And who knows... maybe red enrages them? o__o
But yes. She stayed by his bedside looking out for him. She went through all that training under Tsunade to bring him back for his good. Not hers. She's so caring for him, its unbelievable.
Comittment- The keystone of SasuSaku. Sakura has been in love with Sasuke for years (I still believe she is, anyway.) She gets depressed at the mention of his name. She changed herself for him. Its not "I wish," or "Naruto, bring him back!" It's "I CAN bring him back, and I WILL!"
Cursemark- Ahhhh, the cause of all the drama. Orochi-b*****d <<
Anyway, yes. Not only is this the reason Sasuke went, it is also one of the major SasuSaku moments and should be notified. First of all, Sasuke and Sakura are paralyzed by fear by Orochi-b*****d in disguise. Sasuke stabs himself and JUMPS TO SAVE SAKURA.
JUMPS. SAVE. SAKURA. TO.
Sakura then cares for her teammates as much as she can. She cuts through her hair and tries to defend them, despite being injured and punched repeatedly. She changes from her previous "wimpy" stage and comes in to her own. The Cursemark fuels Sasuke towards Orochimaru, and Sakura has shown time and time again that she is devoted to getting him back. Some people say that its selfish for her to do that, but I think its because she wants to save him from harms way. She wants to get him back to safety.
That is, briefly, why I like SasuSaku. I went very off topic, and sure, i threw a little Orochi-hating in, but that is what I like about it.
Do you prefer her with long hair or short hair?
Although I think she looked really nice with long hair, I prefer the short hair. It was a sign of her starting a new life and a symbol of her dedication (that word is gonna come up SO many times today) to Sasuke.

Oh heck yeah. It is her best colour xD Green would be okay, but it has to be exactly the right shade. Kind of like a misty green. Like her eyes 8D yeah.

Why do you like Sakura?
Get ready to throw food at me. You've probably heard this sooo many times and I'm going to sound like a hypocrite. I disliked Sakura at the beginning....dun dun dun! *cough* I thought she was annoying in Part 1. She was always trying to get Sasuke to like her and she never really did anything (as in fighting). I was expecting like a kick arse-nal girl, c'mon! she's a ninja! ninja When I saw episode 32, I saw a totally different Sakura. I thought that she was awesome in that eppy, and that's when I started to like her-just a little. Now you're going to hear something else totally hypocritical....It was in Part 2 that I started to like her alot. She was much more confident and she could totally kick arse-nal! When I fell in love with sasusaku and created a site for them, I of course had to do research! When I wrote the Inner section (it's all about her personality, etc.) for Sakura, I realized something. She wasn't a bad character in Part 1 at all. When I began to compare her in Part 2 to Part 1, I began to understand why she acted that way in Part 1. Many people bash her because she ended her friendship with Ino, which seems like a heartless thing to do. She left Ino for a reason. And no, not only because of Sasuke. She left Ino because she felt like it was time to grow up. She was always in Ino's shadow. Ino was always protecting her, and she finally felt like she needed to start being independent. Sakura wasn't physically strong in Part 1, but she sure was intelligent. Even though it seemed like she was always in the way, she did her best to help. She really did. Even though she wasn't physically strong in Part 1, she had inner strength. Sure, she was an overly obessed Sasuke fangirl in Part 1 (who isn't), but she was a young girl on the brink of womanhood (sounds corney). Heck, even I was overly obessed with this one boy (what's his name again?) when I was her age. pirate
Although she has changed a bit in Part 2, some things still remain the same. I like her because she has such a big heart. She's there to take care of all of her friends (Sasuke, Naruto, even Rock Lee...) and tries to do everything in her power to help (remember when Gaara was attacking Sasuke? she stepped in and saved him, even though it meant risking her life. I'm pretty sure she knew that she was going to get hurt.). Her Inner Sakura is hilarious too(she made me realize that I have an Inner Raine evil ). And as a bonus, in Part 2 she's so friggin' awesome. She's my alter-ego wink She's probably the most normal character in Naruto, which is one of the reasons why I like her. She's special because of who she is, not because of what she's got (i.e. a special ability). I think the thing I like about her the most is how much she's grown up and who she is today. She's got beauty, brains, and brawn. What more could you ask for? domokun

Eppy 32, when she finally bloomed into a flower. I also liked when she fought with Sasori. When she went out there and told Chiyo "Use me as your puppet", I was like OMG!!!!!! eek So kick arse-nal. I wish Sasuke could've seen her fight!

I probably wanna see her fight with one of Sasuke's team members, and I want Sasuke to see it also! (Sasuke always misses Sakura fight!)

SSSSAASSSUUUKKKEE------KUUUUNNNNN!: My OTP (wouldn't be here if it wasn't)! They're soo cute together. They're the closest to becoming canon, and I wanna see another canon relationship other than Kurenai and.....that Hokage's son dude (forgot his name)! They're total yin and yang. They both complete eachother in one way or another. Sasuke needs some lovin', and Sakura is the one with the big enough heart to do so. I'd write more but I'm getting lazy because of that mini-essay super long paragraph up there *points to my "why you like Sakura" section*

I like Sakura because she has shown tremendous strength physically, mentally and emotionally. She got out of the shadows of Naruto and Sasuke and made her own statement. By becoming the Hokage's apprentice, and look how's she's grown up! She is a wonderful person, and is very kind.

When she kicks Sasori's a**! Become's the Hokage's apprentice...and a lot more.

She'll surpass Tsuande, unless of course she's done so already.

Gaara: Oh come on, there are signs people!! Signs!!! Gaara will become the Kazekage...Sakura is the top medic nin of Konoha, and to strengthen the bond between Konoha and Sand...why not send the top medic nin to teach THEIR medic nins! And...if all goes well...Gaara would even grow to love her! blaugh heart *gets shot* gonk
