Well if your looking for a long, detailed, interesting and( did i say long?) game then Star Ocean's the game for you. I got pretty fustrated and bored with at times, especially in the begining. But if you keep at it gets much better. The battle sytem, story, location and characters ( heart Albel) it's all good. However, all the extra stuff (costumes, battle trophies, etc..) and the overwhelming about of side-quests just seems too much. xp I didn't even bother with stuff to do after you beat the game. I mean why would you WANT to play through 300 levels of impossibly hard monsters just for the satisfaction of saying you did it?

If anyone actually reads this who has beaten then game, please tell me: what the hell are you supposed to do when Luther starts doing Insanity Prelude over and over and over and over? I'm assuming that means you're close to beating him, but I've had to do the fooking thing about seven times and I can only get up to that point. scream
And of course... Albel is teh seksay. heart But we all know that.

it's pretty fun, it's reaaaly long so if u like long hours of rpg gameplay like i do then it's for you, i got it about the same time i got world of warcraft so i havent really played it much heh

It's the one where h says "Now I will show you my greatest (something something)", and then the battlefield fills with purpley-brown smoke, and these things that look like giant black roots shoot up at intervals all around the edge of the field, and Luther is inside some sort of globe... thingy... and I don't know all of what happens because at that point I die. crying

It won't hurt you as long as you do that. Take the character you're controlling and put them on the edge of the field, behind the vine things, then switch them to manual so they won't go back into the battlefield. Do the same for everyone else, if you can. As long as one person is alive, you have a chance. It may be time-consuming but it's the only way to survive. What level are you at? Sometimes you can stop him from doing the attack altogether but don't count on it. Hope that helps!! As for the game, yes it's awesome and you should get it! *realizes this topic is old* My sis is playing it and she needs help for EVERYTHING! She's not an rpg person, she just wants to see teh Fayt/Albel yaoi stuff X_X I was able to beat the main story without a guidebook, but I recommend getting the book too, mainly for inventing purposes.

I've beat him with a slightly lower level, so it should be enough smile Just make sure you keep everyone's HP up, and at least one person should make it. Indeed, try to be out of the circle, or simply try to dogde the vains.
Make sure you take as many KO-recovery items as possible too! Just a few fresh sages ain't enough XD

Thanks, everybody, I finally got him. I got the boring ending, too, I was soooo hoping for the Albel ending. I'm going to get the guidebook now, I like to beat a game at least once before using a guide, but thanks for all the advice.

It's very long, and a bit cliche, but the battle system is inventive, there is an inventing system, and BUNNY RACES!!
