((*her teaching insticts kick in and she has a very strong desire to take over instruction of the "Class."* This is exactly the kind of thing I'm learning about right now. xd ))
Selma looked between the shapes with confusion. Why did he call the thing on the side of the board nearest her a square? It was a box, or at least that was what she had been taught to call it. She pointed at the shape the others were pointing to and looked at the man inquiringly. "Box?" she said, obviously confused.

Vinny pointed to the shape like the sun. He remembered circlecircle because it was the same as the sunny sun. Removing this thumb from his mouth and forgetting about the other's he pointed a tiny diget the at the drawn circle. The other person had done the same but switched with the oohoohree girl. Vinny did not think that the squaresquare was a circlecircle. He continued pointing to the said circle shaped and stared at the odd, large, hairy man.

Parmida hesitated, then dropped her hand, unsure of what to do. Not everyone was following Nikiana... Now there were points to several "shapes." She blinked, confused. "Box?" She didn't know what a box was. She looked at the "shapes" again. One was really round, one had sharp points, the other wasn't round, and the big one was roundish. "Circle..." she said doubtfully, eyeing the three, then eyeing the bigger "shape" that the three were on. She raised a hand, and spread her fingers to point at the whole thing. "Circlecircletriangletrianglesquaresquare." She didn't like using really long words. They were hard to say. She made up her own word instead, "Ciriare."
((Whadda know... She thinks the slate is a "ciriare" ... whee ))

((*coughs* As it seems Cryo isn't going to post a response..><))
The Teacher groaned to himself before putting a smile on his face. "Very good..." He glanced at the Matron who mouthed the word. "003. That is a circle."
Swiftly he erased the other shapes and drew the circle by it's self. Pointing at it he said, "Circle. Everyone, please say this word." For the moment he was content at ignoring the wrong answer's and beating into their heads what a circle was.
A headache began to pound at his head as the man thought to himself once again that he just wasn't cut for this job.

Nikiana blinked. What was the difference between the circle and the circlecircle? They looked the same. She frowned, looking at the solo shape on the slate, her brow wrinkled in her confusion. She pointed to it and asked, "Circlecircle?"

(( xp *decides to act like she did in RL at this age... and be literal*))
Parmida blinked when the teacher said, "Circle. Everyone, please say this word." She paused. Why would he want them to say this word? She looked around her to see what the other reactions were. She then shrugged and said, "This word." She peered carefully at him; he hadn't seemed happy with their last answers... Would he be happy that she did exactly what he said this time?

"Circle." Tali repeated the world dutifully watching Nikiana with some confusion. What was a circlecircle?

Still confused about the square not being a "box," Selma had stuck her thumb back in her mouth and just decided that she would watch to see what the others did.

"Very good 001. No, no, no 002. Not circlecircle. Just...circle." He tried to smile patiently. The smile did twich into existence for a moment as the next toddler went.
"This word." She pronounced carefully. He darted a quick glance to the Matron. She flashed him the three number code for the little girl. "Ah.. Not quite what I wanted 006. But good try."
He looked at Selma. "Your turn..."

Nikiana blinked a bit. It was confusing, all of this. The circlecircle and the circle looked exactly alike. And why did they all keep calling her 002? Well, most of them did. Her matron called her Nikiana.
Frowning in a rather confused manner, the poor child just sat there.

Selma opened her eyes wider, seeing that he was looking at her and expecting her to answer. She looked at the faces of the other confused toddlers, trying to draw the answers from thier faces, but getting nothing. She looked back at him, her expression very confused and she didn't know what to do.

Parmida blink, taken back by the fact that she didn't do the right thing. But who was 006? She sighed. He had said to say "this word" didn't he? Not quite? What did he want her to say? Circle? She heard him say "Your turn..." to a toddler near her, and she turned to see a confused expression. She mouthed the word "circle" to her, trying to help out.

They wanted him to say words? His never spoke unless it was needed. A sun was a circle and the circle was a circle, not a circlecircle. He got that. He stubbornly pressed his lips together and looked angry. He didn't like this big man he called him funny names. He was "dahling Vinny" or "baby Vincent". He didn't like it here with this funny dressed talking people who didn't know what a circle was (though he didn't until today).

((sorry for taking so long to post... sweatdrop ))
Selma looked at the toddler that was trying to mouth her something, but it wasn't really working, since circle isn't a word that can really be "mouthed." Giving up, she stared down at her lap and began to pick at her brightly colored shirt, not wating to look at the others who were waiting for her to answer. She didn't much like talking anyways

The teacher sighed. "Allright then.... " His voice trailed off slightly and he erased the circle. "Now, who can tell me what this shape is?" Quickly he drew a triangle of the piece of blackboard. The toddlers needed to learn their shapes before they could move onto anything else.
((*coughs* For those of you in the Pern guild, you may know how impatient I get at times. Therefore, if you want to do anything else in the toddler stage just speak up or we'll be growing everyone but Cryo to kids.))
