Ceribri Mrs.Mutou is it just me or as the Doctor gets older the younger he looks mrgreen Yeppers! blaugh heart I've heard that for years, but it's not exactly true. The second Doctor looked younger than the third Doctor and the fifth Doctor looked younger than the 6th Doctor. Many times the Doctors start out roughly the same age, but some of them (notably Doctors 4 and 7) were much older in their final episodes than in their first ones, so this gives a sense of the Doctors getting younger all the time.

WhoGuru There's no point in being grown-up...
Patron of Twilight Ther are quite a few inconsistencies throughout the series. ^^;
rofl rofl rofl Now That is a galactic understatement! LOL And one of the things I love about Doctor Who. Watching eps and being a complete geek pointing out to my boyfreind how this or that was impossible cause so and so said this in this ep. rofl
Incidentally...Complete Whovian geek here, since the tender age of five. Hence my name. blaugh Haven't found a question yet about Doctor Who I couldn't answer. rolleyes oh yeah.....Uber Geek.
...if you can't be childish sometimes.
 I think the best explanation for the various inconsistancies over the years was given in a conversation between the Doctor and Adric. Adric was looking through the ship's logs and asked the Doctor why it was that something happened a certain way on opne page, happened another way on a different page, and on a third page never happened at all. The Doctor shrugged and said, "Well...that's the way it is with time traverl. You never know exactly what you're going to get,"

Hope those help! biggrin The second one is so helpful! Lol .. I got into Doctor Who when the 9th Doctor started so I was a bit confused with all the previous ones razz Thanks! <3

Time Lady Tsinga Truly, the best site I've found since I've been a fan of Doctor Who is this: http://meshyfish.com/~roo/index.htmlI know it looks wierd, but trust me, it is the Rassilon of Doctor Who sites. It includes a breakdown of Gallifreyian biology, bits of the planet. ALL of the Doctors history from various books, episodes, audio shows, Everything a Who fan would want. I love that page to bits. It's a stunning piece of work and utterly absorbing. Very misleading in places though. It often reports as established fact thing that stories only imply. I'm also not sure it's always clear about which bits are the author's own 'continuity bandages'. Tiny little flies in the ointment though. I adore all the little Easter Eggs like the list of "NOUNS of Rassilon" and the Faction Paradox terminology guide. Other sites I'm enjoying right now are this one... http://www.drwhoguide.com/who.htm...despite the rubbishy drawings. This has got a lot of potential too... http://tardis.wikia.com/wiki/Main_Page...but needs a lot of work. I've just started pitching in myself.

ezactron14 chegui17 i only started watching doctor who ever since the remake in 05. i need to know where to wqatch the original eps. Either find a friend or rent them is the only 2 ways i kno of if you live anywhere that they ship to Netflix has all of the old episodes.. I think... and they always add the new stuff as its been released. Even though a lot of it is gone there are still a lot of episodes to go through, so I recommend renting rather then buying them. (it is still possible to buy them)

I found this if anyone is interested! This question is difficult to answer, especially considering that The Doctor tends to lie about his age. Though the subject rarely has a bearing on specific events, I address it for the sake of completeness. While there must be gaps between stories to account for unseen events, I don't believe The Doctor aged 500 years between his second and seventh incarnations. My assumption is that he uses different dating systems depending on the circumstances. The Second Doctor tells Victoria Waterfield that he's 450 years old "in human terms" (The Tomb of the Cybermen). The Fourth Doctor, in a conversation with Sarah Jane Smith (Pyramids of Mars) which specifically highlights the differences between Time Lords and humans, says that he's around 750, and several of his subsequent stories confirm this. Since these later references are usually in conversations with Romana, another Time Lord, it seems obvious to me that, in these cases, he's using Gallifreyan dating. To further support this idea, at the time of his trial by a Gallifreyan tribunal, The Sixth Doctor is 900 years old, and The Seventh Doctor says that both he and The Rani, who'd certainly use the Gallifreyan calendar, are 953. (I'm aware that The Third Doctor hinted on occasion that he had been around for "thousands of years". I'm assuming, based on his habit of mentioning historical figures as personal friends, that these statements are meant to indicate the range of history that he'd witnessed, rather than being literally true.)

At the first pages of the fanfic "The Ten Doctors", there is the same explanation:
The Doctor lies about his age.

There have been references made that point to the fact that the doctor is/was The Other. For non-whotards, The Other made his last appearance with Rassilon and Omega and was Susan’s biological grandfather. The Other eventually was betrayed and chucked himself into a Loom, zap forward a lot of years and The Doctor was born, from the same Loom, he then meets Susan who takes one look at him and calls him Grandfather….. then you have lots of cryptic lines like “I am much more than just another Time Lord”…… eek
