Sizzla Oqaia "Really? This little sweet thing came from the Marshes? That's a surprise. They're all so secretive there. Some of the ones on the outskirts would talk with us- one of them kept creeping out at night and sneaking into the caravan circle, eating what we'd left in the firepot. He kept asking me if I had a crown, that he wanted a crown. Strange man. ...But deeper in, it was pretty dangerous. There was grey magic everywhere. Bizarre place. ...Why, are you headed there?" "Well, supposedly that's where she came from. That's what I was told at least. I'm surprised she's from there too. A badger can't do much digging in the marshes." Irina shrugged her shoulders and looked down at Kal, who was enjoying everyone talking about her.
"He wanted a crown and was stealing your food? I don't think I'd take that very well," she said, smiling at the blonde girl. "No, I don't think we're headed there any time soon, but I was just curious. It would be interesting to see Kalpana her her home environment. We're actually travelling to the sea now, from what I understand," she added. "Where is your caravan headed off to?""We're headed into the Attash Plains. Our children's fortunes have directed them there. That's why we're here. We needed more Banyas for our newer cabin members. ....Would you like to see my new one? He's a sweetie."

M i s s a Marissa smiled and took into Sarai into her arms. She was a little younger than Kale, she guessed, probably unable to walk. Still, if she was gifted with feline dexterity...one could never tell.
"She's beautiful," Marissa said with a warm smile to Stasha, "You're very lucky."
Kale realized he was being talked about and grinned, taking his tail in his hands and petting it with a giggle. It tickled! And then, as if to prove Stasha's theory, he pulled a coin from his pocket with a mischevious smirk, one that Stasha would recognize as formerly decorating her skirt.
"Kale!" Marissa cried when she realized what he'd done, "Iubito, give that back!" "Yes, I'm so very blessed. Her fortunes even point to her having an easy transition into Blessed Childhood. I'm so looking forward to it- and I've stocked up on my Banyas so as to protect her." Then, at Kale's production, the woman clapped her hands together in glee and knelt down next to the boy. "Oh, no, it's perfectly alright, Marissa. It's in his nature. Ooh, you're such a clever boy!" She said, opening her arms and readying herself for a hug. "Can I get a hug from the clever boy?"

"Oh, what good fortune for you!" Marissa congratulated, a small voice in the back of her mind wondering what it would be like to have a child with such a clear, bright future. She peered at Sarai, so placidly napping, and was not surprised that the meij smiled on the child. Something about the girl rang with clarity.
Kale, like his mother, was not inverted around strangers. So when Stasha reacted so positively toward his caper, he was thrilled. He rushed forward and wrapped his short arms around her neck. He pondered for a moment whether or not to free Stasha of her necklace, but decided he liked this woman, and let her jewelery lie.

Oqaia "Oh, semita, you have two!" A middle-aged woman came from her side of the caravan 'V', brushing the dirt on her hands off in her skirt apron. She had a kindly but no-nonsense face, and came with a small but sincere smile on her face. "Semita, I can't imagine having two at the same time. I only ever raised my children far apart. ...Velle," she said, explaining her name with a nod of her head. "And you, child?" Heather as in such a shock when the middle aged woman appeared. Kala did her normal hissing dont come near me thing and Amkia continued to sleep in Heathers arms.
"Oh yes, hi. I am Heather." She wasn't quite sure what to say, this woman seemed a little lively that was for sure. "Its hard work, especially when they dont get on." She smiled sweetly, trying not to show the worry for her own children. "What child do you have?"

Irina asked the girl, thinking she was too young to have a child. But Fortunettes were different creatures. Anyone could care for them...
"I don't have a banya yet, but I'm on the lookout for one. I think with my little Kal here, we're going to need one. I'm a bit wary of her future," she said. She looked up at her banya, and smiled. "He is lovely! I'd love to see him closer up. How many do you have?"
Irina held a hand out to the bird, hoping she could give it a pet on the head.

Altaira took a moment longer than her wagon-mates to greet the other train. Her mule Dan decided he didn't wish to stop, tugging on his rope and shaking her cart thrice. After calming him down, the young woman walked shyly to where everyone was meeting. Grey eyes scanned for someone to talk to, timidly hoping someone would start a conversation so she wouldn't have to.
Sindri was less timid about things. He'd already gone to investigate a pair Banya that someone had let loose to fly freely. They had settled on one of the other groups' wagon step. A black and gold Lilas and a Snow Head sat unawares or unworried by the bobcats stalking. He was almost ready to pounce when his mother scooped him up, embaressed and hoping their owner hadn't seen.
"Really Sindri. You don't hunt our Banya, don't hunt theirs, my shvibzik."

Oqaia The gypsy that walked across the divide to speak with Emelyn and her son had a boy of her own- older than Pierre by a few years, with a green-skinned, almost frog-like demeanor, but with eyes just as mischevious. "Hallo there!" The man extended a friendly arm in greeting. "I am Crick, and this is my son Corman." "Crick. What a wonderful name. I'm Emelyn, and this is Pierre." "Mom... I can introduce myself." The boy gave his mother a sidelong glance, then looked up at the teen Fortunette. But after that, all he said was "Hey."

Khevashi's caw from the top of the wagon signalled his mother that something was coming long before she herself could see it. He had developed a strange habit of perching on the roof of the wagon as they traveled, keeping an eye out for his mother, a sort of watch-bird, so to speak. To anyone else he would have appeared ominous and threatening, surely an ill omen, but Silver welcomed the extra eyes.
The gypsy woman's greenish-black hair shone in the warm sunlight as she pulled Kesali and Vakejo to a halt behind Rusting Canvas as the approaching caravan eventually came nose to nose with her own. It was so good to see other gypsies. She'd almost forgotten what it was like to be welcomed and treated as equals, which, she most certainly knew, would be the case with a sister caravan. Silver jumped down from the seat and attempted to moor her wagon as everyone else had, but Kesali and Vakejo did not want to be still, they were too excited. The two horses pranced in place, neighing and puffing air through their noses irritably. Kesali was normally more well-behaved, but Vakejo's nickering only encouraged her. Silver finally managed to calm them down by giving them each an apple to munch on and moored the wagon quickly.
Aisrhan, who had been sitting in the front seat with Silver, slid to the ground. She had been in a surprisingly good mood after they left the mountains. The heat and sun made her feel more alive than anything. She had enjoyed sunning herself in the seat of their moving wagon next to her mother, who was not nearly so pleased with the weather. She slithered up behind Silver and tugged on her skirt. "What's going on, mom? Who are those people?" "Friends, dear. Fellow gypsies like ourselves. They are almost like family though we have never met them. We are of the same spirit. You are to treat them with respect - do you understand me?" Aisrhan nodded. "Yes ma'am." "Come on, Khevashi," Silver called to the crow, who swooped down from the wagon roof almost silently to perch on his mother's shoulder. Silver and her children walked (and slithered) to greet the newcomers.

Caroline sweeps a jingling curtsy for her new friend. "Aye," she responds. "I was beginnin' to think I'd never see another caravan. We've gone without company except for our own for so long." She smiles then, happy to meet him. "Caroline," she introduces herself. "And this is my daughter, Rojiza." She puts one hand on Ro's head as she says this. "She doesna talk much," she explains, "But she's a bonnie wee listener, and can gesture her meaning when needbe. An' this is Majesty," she says, gesturing to the deer, "Just a pet of ours. He needed a walk, so we thought we'd take 'im out."
Rojiza smiles at Trabor in a friendly manner, curtsying after her mother does. She's still rather wobbly, but there'd be time enough to fix that. She's quite taken with the colour of his hair. It's a similar colour to Lorelei's, but somehow more beautiful. She fiddles with her coin skirt while the adults talk.

The cloud of dust on the road produced warring emotions of excitement and nervousness for Gwynna. She hadn't been in the company of so many people since she had left the city in shame and fear and hadn't seen so many gypsies together since the time spent with her own family. But Valelldia's caravan was her family now, and if the brilliant Gypsy woman trusted these fellow travellers then perhaps it was all to the good.
She settled Bard with his nosebag of feed and scrambled down to the ground. Nusa 'wah'ed from inside the wagon, having been wakened from her typical daytime slumber. Gwynna fetched her strange little daughter, who took her usual perch on Gwynna's shoulder, tail wrapped around her neck and claws latched into her hair.
"Come, my darling," Gwynna said softly, shaking the dust of the road from her skirts. "Shall we go for a bit of a visit?'

Oqaia "Oh, not long, I'm afraid. Esperita wants us to get moving westward as soon as we're done with our business in Enallas.... and that just completed. We picked up some new Banyas, had our fortunes read... I think we only stopped for the sake of you. Hopefully, though," he adjusted Vanna on his hip, and smiled, "you can help convince your wagonmother to Fiesta a spell... and I shall do the same with mine." "Ah... well, I suppose I could try. She was rather open for staying a while in Seinheph, up north, for the sake of some of our sisters." She fiddled with her braid absently. "We're, ah, on our way to Tempranillo though the outskirts of Twiggle.. with some of the fortunes we've gotten, I'm sure more than one of us would appreciate the chance to rest."

Watching her family meet and become quickly friendly with the other group of gypsies, Leshya'e decided to join them and meet the new people. She quickly went back into her wagon and cleaned herself up from traveling, puting on a cleaner skirt and washing her face. Anezka closed up the back window and checked that the sash that healed her piece of the protectorate tri-rune was tied tight. Once both of them were ready, they exited Varekai and said good-bye to Alexander, leaving him some feed and water. Walking out hand in hand, they looked around at everyone who was talking.

Cerces laughed, high and loud. "Oh no! I dont have any children yet! My Mama says I'm still too cheeky to take care of anything but my birds." She took the deep red bird from her shoulder and let it perch on her arm as she held it forward for Irina to see.
"I just got him in Enallas. I take care of them, and trade them. He's number 9, right now. Do you like him? I have a few I could be willing to trade- they're not part of my regular aviary. But this one I think I'll keep. He's a special critter."
