I kind of like movie Raoul sweatdrop , In the book he's such a girly man, even Leroux describes his features as somewhat girlish. I thought the musical depicted him better as a man. Also, in the MESSED UP 80's version where they're in England or what not, the Raoul is named "Richard" and owns the Opera House....so he's kind of like Raoul/Andre or something....but he was cool. Every time I watch/listen to POTO, I think "Okay....I would definetly choose the Phantom!" and then it gets to "All I ask of You" and my heart gets all fuzzy with just the cutness of it all and then I say, "Wait no...what about Raoul, yes Poor Raoul!" I know, blasphmemy, because we all know Erik is better, but it's still so....well, cute! And that's my two sense on it sweatdrop !

Okay, Raoul may have been rich but remember in the book he was going to go on a, correct me if I am wrong, Arctic expedition. Now, he may be living comfortably but he's not some snob.. I mean if he was a snob would he have wanted anything to do with a poor girl like Christine in the first place? Now to the movie he is a kind person who is willing to give of himself... he is a patron of the theatre, so he is giving away part of his wealth. He's braver than in the book (swordfight... swimming through the sewers) he had to be without Daroga's help. I've never hated Raoul. He might be a bit girly, but whatever.
