I am not sure what you like, but I have a tendeny to read dark-toned books, namely vampire novels, and I am not sure if you would like them (they are all at a maximum PG-13 level). Some of my reccomendations would be Shattered Mirror and Demon In My View, both by Ameilia Atwater-Rhodes.
I would also recommend anything by Bruce Coville. As a warning, most of his books are more aimed towards late elemntary-junior high levels, but his writing is so amazing, compelling, and humorous that I cannot help but pick them up even now. He tends to write a lot of science fiction (the Space brat series is worth a read) and fantasy (The Magic Shop series is my highest reccomnedation here---with the possible exception of The Monster' Ring. That one was...interesting, but it did not hold up to the rest.)

Elven blade weilder Hey since were on the subject of books i'm looking for someone who is willing to be very honest with me and my story. Instead of hireing professional raters and comminters I thought I might get comments from regular people. ANy or all of you guys interested. See i'm really nervious to reliese my books because I have no idea if they will go over. I hope so and my best friend says it's a good story but still I have my doubts. Help? I'd love to, except that I really should read my sister's books first! She's been writing for the past 10 years almost, and I've only read one of her many many stories. I feel bad cuz they just really aren't my style, but I want to support my sister at the same time.

Mahia M KittenFreak1986 Mahia M @ KittenFreak: Wow, you're into classics and Mystery, aren't you? eek ((Mary Higgins Clark . . . where have I heard that? sweatdrop )) Have you read Dorothy Gilman? She wrote the Mrs. Pollifax stuff . . . starting with The Unexpected Mrs. Pollifax. 3nodding I like books.. 3nodding No, I haven't read those.. I haven't even read half the books I have.. I keep buying new books, and not reading them.. But when I have my own house, I'm going to have a library. biggrin eek That's like, one of my ultimate fantasies!
You'll enjoy the Pollifax mysteries. 3nodding Amascus and I want them to be made into movies, with Angela Lansbury as Mrs. Pollifax. i'm just not sure that I really wanna make it myself. sweatdrop They're very charming. heart My ultimate fantasy too! And my future husband will have to deal with it! I'll have to check those out.. Good thing I'm going to the bookstore tomorrow! xd Angela Lansbury is a great actress. She's a pretty good singer too.. I was surprised when I saw her sing with the Mormon Tabernacle Choir.

Annete Kurtis Klaus -
The Silver Kiss Blood and Chocolate Alien Secret
Also: I recommended DragonLance Chronicles by Margaret Weis and Tracy Hickman? That was sort of a prelude to recommending all of their books. Actually, anything that Tracy writes is good. 3nodding He's recently written some stuff with Laura, though I haven't had an opportunity to read it yet. gonk Here's what he's written with Margaret Weis:
DragonLance Chronicles Dragons of the Autumn Twilight Dragons of the Winter Night Dragons of the Spring Dawning
DragonLance Legends Time of the Twins War of the Twins Test of the Twins
(Also)DragonLance Second Generation Dragons of the Summer Flame
DragonLance War of Souls Dragons of a Fallen Sun Dragons of a Lost Star Dragons of a Vanished Moon
Death Gate Cycle Dragon Wing Elven Star Fire Sea Serpent Mage Hand of Chaos Into the Labyrinth The Seventh Gate
Rose of the Prophet Will of the Wanderer Paladin of the Night Prophet of Ahkran
Darksword Trilogy Forging of the Darksword Doom of the Darksword Triumph of the Darkword
Note: I know they have more books together. This is a list of the ones I've actually read. biggrin
The same goes for Christopher Stasheff. Here are his novels:
Warlock of Gramarye Escape Velosity (Precurser) The Warlock Inspite of Himself King Kobold Revived The Warlock Unlocked The Warlock Enraged The Warlock Wandering The Warlock is Missing The Warlock Heretical The Warlock's Companian The Warlock Insane The Warlcok Rock Warlock and Son
Warlock's Heirs M'Lady Witch Quicksilver's Knight The Spell-Bound Scholar Here Be Monsters
Rogue Wizard A Wizard in Mind A Wizard in Bedlam A Wizard in Absentia A Wizard in War A Wizard in Peace A Wizard in Chaos A Wizard in Midgard A Wizard and a Warlord A Wizard in the Way A Wizard in a Fued
The Warlock's Last Ride ((End to all three series))
Star Stone The Shaman The Sage
Wizard in Rhyme Her Majesty's Wizard The Oathbound Wizard The Witch Doctor The Secular Wizard My Son, the Wizard The Haunted Wizard The Crusading Wizard The Feline Wizard

Rebecca is great. Anything by Tamora Pierce or JK Rowling. Sherlock Holmes books are also good. There are so many!! If you're into King Arthur and stuff The Sword of the Rightful King is great as is I am Morgan Le Fay. Morgan is a lot better and higher-level than Sword, though.

Which series? DragonLance? eek They have DragonLance at your SCHOOL LIBRARY?! gonk eek
Well, not all DragonLance books are all that great. I mean, you have to get the ones that are written by the best authors. Weis & Hickman are the best combination. Followed by Weis and Perrin (She married him, but didn't change her pen name).
Yeah. And considering that Weis and Hickman were the first to write DragonLance . . . Even though it was a concentrated effort to create the world and everything, I believe their books capture the magic like no one else can. wink
((But then again, I may just be bais. sweatdrop ))

((I don't like Steinback. gonk )) I agree. Steinbeck was icky. I read Of Mice and Men, but my Mom told me not read Grapes of Wrath, and even gave me a note to get out of reading it for class.
