MiLK` I agree with you that most kids [15 and under usually] do things because they're different and cool, but when you get into high school and you realize who you are, times change. You get out of trying so hard to be different that it just comes naturally if that's who you really are anyway.
But as far as stretching ears, it could be a fade for some people that's why a lot of kids don't go too big and stay small for a bit because their parents will get mad or something. Etc.
I plan to look the way I do forever. Even when I'm old and wandering about with a cane, I'll have my tattoos and piercings that I'll love forever. I think that'd be also an interesting way to be remembered by as an elderly person. ^^ you know I would like to see this genertation, our generation, when we are older, all pierced up with synthric dreads and listening to our EBM music. heehee, Ican't wait till I am old now.

Yeah, I plan to be an old woman with sleeves, piercings all over, and wearing clothes that I wear now, including my platforms. har har. Only thing I'd do that'd be different, is if I somehow became successful, I'd get a pimp ride and customize it inside and out - seats, stereo system, subwoofers, rims, etc. Haha. I'd be the coolest old hag around!

my opinion of stretched ears is probably contradictory to most's opinion in here. though I like a tongue with a large guaged ring, i dont like extremely stretched ears , I think it is just a fad that I dont agree with, actually besides industrial i really dont care for pierced ears as much as the many other places to get pierced... I am no expert it is just that seeing someone with a large hole in there ear is not appealing to me , I tend to look at things in the long term perspective, why would you want tattoos on your face when you are 40? ears stretched to a small extent I believe is kind of hot but over the size of a penny is just too much for my tastes ( I apologize for my ranting)

-King of Heartz- my opinion of stretched ears is probably contradictory to most's opinion in here. though I like a tongue with a large guaged ring, i dont like extremely stretched ears , I think it is just a fad that I dont agree with, actually besides industrial i really dont care for pierced ears as much as the many other places to get pierced... Piercings are never permanent unless you stretch really large [for that you need surgery] or get a dermal punch [this could also include scapling, I'm not sure].
But since tattoos are, you have to be careful what you get and make sure you'll like it. However, I think of it this way, if it means something to YOU then who the hell cares what anyone else thinks of it? You're not doing it to be cool or different, you're doing it to be YOU.
So when I'm 80, I'll probably be an old hag with a tattooed body and piercings everywhere. But I won't care because that's who I am. The pictures I put on my body tell a story, each hole represent a split second of pain that I love and remember.
So even if you may not think that some piercings are worth it, the person getting them definetly does and that's all that matters. biggrin
Haha that's my little speech right there.

I'm all for stretching. I currently have an amazing pair of bone lotus plugs at 7/16". Unfortunately, I've seen too many people rush in to stretching and try huge jumps in size. The smaller the lobes, the easier you can get away with a double jump, (ie: 14g-10g) it's when you start getting in to larger sizes that you want to take your time. On average it takes a minimum of a month for the collagen layer of the skin in the fistula ( The tunnel of flesh) to repair itself after a stretch, so be patient. If stretched too fast you might end up with a blow-out, some nasty scar tissue or other serious damage to your ears. Keep in mind that stretching is meant to be gradual and not all at once.
Side Note: to anyone that chooses to wear organic jewelry, make sure you are conditioning your pieces. I've seen too many awesome wood/bone/horn/amber plugs meet an untimely end simply because someone didn't hit them with the olive oil once a month.
Happy Stretching.

I'm working my way to 7/16" flesh tunnels. I'm thinking of Kaos, but I don't think I'll have the money for it. Stretching is expensive. ;3;
I need to buy a taper right now because I'm ready to stretch, but the 4g is too big for my hole still. =/ It looks like it's too big from a 6g, but I checked and it's the correct size. so I'll just use a taper. har har.
On a side note, have your parents ever said anything? My mom found out the other week or so and kept telling me how much I mutilate myself. Yet this comes from the woman who let me get a tattoo and refuses to let me get piercings other than in my ears [even though I DO have a septum].

My parents will never fully accept piercing, but they've come to understand that it's something that I love and that I'm fully committed to. Even as a piercer, I will still go to visit my parents and Dad will just shake his head whenever I have something new or I stretch again, even if it's 1/4 of an inch, he will be able to tell. As far as jewelry goes, you should check out Tawapa , they are based out of Berkeley, California and have some of the most beautiful pieces of stretching jewelry ever. They pieces themselves are kinda pricey but it's worth it. I currently have the bone lotus plugs and love them.

Awesome. it's been about 5 years and my mom still hasn't accepted me. Kind of makes me sad. i'm leaving next year, and I wonder how long it'll take after I leave that she'll finally accept me.

It would be awesome to be a granny, and have all my piercings and future tats, and the little kiddies would be all like "my granny was a rocker, yes she was, she went to every Ozzfest since she was born(a blatant lie of course)!!" and so on and so forth... mrgreen
