I have no problems with Freema.. but to name her character Martha? Arggh... I really dislike that name... I mean, I suppose it'll grow on me... but... *shudders*
On the Doctor losing Rose... it says that Freema isn't introduced till the beginning of season 3.. and so the christmas special, I'm assuming he's all alone.. maybe something will develop in that ep... or resolve itself.
Also:

-Do you suppose they mean foil as in setback/prevent him from doing stuff
-OR foil as in a contrast... like contrast in character's
