"Wrath," Batrias snarls, pulling his sword back. He can feel the symbol burn on his forehead. He is not aware that he is panting, or that his ribs feel like they have been broken. There is only the thing he needs to do, and what he has to do to see it done.

Dani looks at him and raises an eyebrow.
"Why do I have a bad feeling about this?" she wispers.
She watches him, then speaks with power in her voice, "Your power is killing you! I will not attack if you yeild."

"If my power is killing me, then it is killing everyone," Batrias says evenly. "Because each armor draws from the same fundamental source, in the end. If my armor has a flaw, then all armors have a flaw, and all armors must be destroyed to prevent the annihilation of mankind. There is no other way."

Dani shakes her head, "Then why is my armor free of pain? It has been passed down by the children of it's first bearer, Hariel, until it came to my hand."

"I could not say," Batrias, keeping his eyes on Dani's blades, declares, "Perhaps because your armor is not as affected as mine. Perhaps because it is like a wave of sickness passing through the fundamental power, and mine happens to be closer than yours. I will say, though, that if you have no ideas on how to resolve the situation, then it is best to destroy you, and your armor."

"Woa! Time out!" Dani yells, keeping her swords where she can block an attack. "Will talking help," she says, "My father and his friends were almost consumed and killed by their armors. I can tell you what they told me, but only if you stop trying to hack my head off!"

"Once before," Batrias muses to himself, for the first time feeling something other than rage. "Very well, tell your tale girl. I could do worse than listen."

Dani lets out a sigh of relief, sheathing her swords and removing the helmet from her head. Her cat ears spring out, and she begins her tale.
"Years ago, my father was taken against his will to Africa, home of the Inferno armors," she says, "their armors, especially the White Inferno, had always had more power than could be handled. Well, anyway, their armors tried to seperate themselves from the virtues that held their power in check. All but one were almost killed by this, but one was not. He saw the power, and almost refused to fight. He healed the others and, in the end, the Ronin Warriors were able to destroy the Infernos, and their own armors, without giving up their lives. But they retained some of the power of their armors. Later, they were given new armors, ones so bound to their virtues, and specially made for each Ronin, that they can be used to their full compasity. I wear one."

Dani takes a step back, but does not draw her swords.
"Don't look at me! It was gone before I was born!" she says, "they never summoned an armor like that since the first was destroyed. I'm telling you, the five of them worked together to do it."

"Then, you have the cause of the imbalance," Batrias declares, "Like fools who thought they understood everything, your father and his friends..." Batrias looks up into the sky, and lets loose all the breath in his lungs, shouting as loud as he can. "Destroyed! It cannot be conceived! The Ancient One tied the Inferno Armor to the other nine armors, or did you think that happened by accident? They severed their link, and expected nothing to come of it! Now, we are here, and the Inferno Armor is gone, my own armor telling me I must kill you to restore balance.
"Is it a strange world?" He points its sword at Dani and looks down the blade. At the tip, he sees her throat.

Dani swollows, hard, looking at the blade only inches from her throat. Her cat ears twitch.
"Had they not, the Inferno would have destoryed the world then and there," she says, "two Infernos met that day. Together they would have made the world a firey wasteland."

"So they thought, I see," Batrias says, "But now we will never know. I say that you must die, if for no other reason than you are the daughter of the man who has done these things."

Dani raises an eyebrow.
"So the sins of the father are on his children?" she says, "my mother was a Warlady long ago, and is now the Lady of Flames. Someday my brother will bear her armor. Can you really stop everyone?"

"I can stop those that I must," Batrias says. "Now, I have heard you out. If you do not wish to do die, place yourself on guard. I will attack with all my force!"
With that, he points his sword skyward. Three points of light appear at the tip.
