((sorry guys but I am off to Kenya and wont be around again till long after this has finished.))
PostPosted: Sat Jul 29, 2006 5:56 pm

((I'm sorry, Enjoy your stay in Kenya!))
Echo was close to the state of mental break down. Her knees shook beneath her skirts, wide eyes glancing around the room in utter fear. Had something just spoke to them? Whoever wanted to 'play' surely did not mean a nice, calm and practical game of Parcheese. The Forgotton's wide hazel eyes drifted towards Silence who sat lazily on her shoulder, luminescent tail curling and uncurling in an act of boredom.

'Aren't you atleast slightly shaken?' the shaky voice resonated in Silence's head. The lizard merely liked an optic before proceeding to ignore the question.

"Erm..miss?" Echo asked in a rather small voice indicating Mana, deciding that it would be wise to make an aquaintance with the least foreboding of the group. The wolfy-boy was icy and did not hold the most pleasent of airs of the group, leader though he may be, "Do you know what we are doing here?" Echo whispered, not wanting to draw attention to herself.

-I have that odd feeling too- Silence responded to Harmony's ill toned statement. He still lacked trust in the sharpend horsey, as it were, to intorduce himself properly.

((Have a safe and happy trip, you'll be missed. ^^))

Iqbal didn't really pay attention to the people behind him. His brain had focused on something much larger now. As he would have it, a hunch wanted him to stop going to the room he was leading the group too. Just an utterly sour feeling in his stomach that wrenched. He paid no attention to it though.

Fortune could sense feelings of discomfort settling in the boy, but, she too ignored the feelings. She was there and there to protect her Forgotten, he was in no harm.

Approaching a rather oval shaped door of the old house Iqbal finally turned back to the others. "Well girls, this is the place I was talking about, now if you'll just step inside--" He turned his head as he opened the door, glancing in and feeling a shiver crawl down his spine at the winter coat of a forest on the inside.

Fortune stopped rather quickly and stared too, it wasn't long though till the house had it's own ideas.

In a sudden shaking movement, the three forgotten and their daemons were tossed into the snow and locked, as a world inside the door of the house began to unfold.

Mana giggled, smiling at the other girl,
"Oh, we're playing hide-and-seek!" she explained, though she could have sworn she'd already mentioned something of the sort to her. Ah well, if she hadn't, then she had now!

The black-skinned elf skipped forward, following Iqbal's lead until they found themselves in a snow-covered forest. She shivered,
"Heavens!" she said, just a tinge of whine in her voice, "but it's cold! You didn't tell me I'd need a coat!"

Harmony aligned himself next to the girl, pressing against her in an attempt to at least give her a bit of extra warmth.

I don't think he knew, Mana the unicorn sighed, he looks a bit surprised too. at least, his body language seemed to speak surprise, though he'd barely hesitated on going forward.

"Well, is there somewhere about we can grab coats, then? I mean, I'm all for a game of hide-and-seek in the snow, 'cause it's harder, but I don't want to freeze!"

Echo gave a yelp at the sudden change of scenery. This was not hide and seek, this was madness. A large frown bore upon her features, it might have been frightening if the scared look and wetness left her eyes.

Silence gave a harsh hiss at the sudden cold and burrowed into Echo's marginally warmer coat with a impressive glare sent towards Iqbal and Fortune. Expected or not, this was not the fun he was looking forward to.

-I do believe you were right in this one.- Silence admitted, looking dejected and miserable from beneath the layers of fabric.

"What if we get lost?" Echo asked Iqbal in a small voice, light eyes gazing into the snowy wonderland. The girl had to push back the thoughts of a certain book her mother had read to her. What was it? The Lion the Witch and the Wardrobe? or something of the sort.

"Is it really safe to play in here?" She added, shuddering even beneath the excessive amounts of frock coats. She put her violin over her shoulder so that it would rest lightly on her back. A fashion very similar to a quiver of arrows, Echo mused.

In the few moments that they were in the winter abyss, Iqbal's personality had gone from charming and collected to defensive and quiet. His ears perked around as he heard the trees rustle.

Fortune's feathers ruffled close, trying to send a clear message to both daemons. 'In case anything happens here, head to the east. There's a village that will keep you safe.' Her voice was the slow speaking one now, as she edged forward with Iqbal.

Out of nowhere it seemed, the howling wind that Iqbal had thought to be came down in a crashing pack of wolves in white coats. Iqbal's eyes were calm. They were kin, why would they hurt him?

As it turned out, the pack of some odd six arctic wolves stopped dead right before Iqbal. He began to feel uneasy in the stomach before he felt a sharp wind against his throat.

From behind the evergreen trees a slinky half-wolf, half-man walked forward, with a striking resemblance to Iqbal. Except, his hair was a darker dappled grey and his golden eyes were set to kill.

"Hello, Iqbal." The man's voice almost purred off his lips while came face to face with the wolf-boy.

Swallowing hard, he looked at the man quickly alerting Fortune of the danger. Fortune, get them out now, get them to safety.

The gryphon blinked once in understanding, but as soon as she edged back, the wolves cornered the group in.

A deep laugh came from the man who cupped Iqbal's chin forcefully. "I'm not letting you get away this time. But you have a choice now, save your skin, or save your friends. So, what will it be, brother?"

((Hope you guys are enjoying the twists so far, don't worry the scavenger hunt part will be revealed in my next post, thanks for putting up with me this far. <3))

"EEEE!" Mana cried, startled by the wolves as they descended upon the group, and she clung to Harmony's mane like a drowning person,
"Oh!"

She didn't like the wolf-man that had shown up much better. He was creepy and didn't look happy at all. And the cold was bothering her too. This was -not- fun.

Get up here, in case we have to move fast the unicorn demanded. For once, Mana listened to him. The girl clambered up on Harmony's back,
But, we can't just leave the others.. She protested in his direction.

Harmony sighed heavily. He'd leave them all behind easily enough if it came down to it. But for now, they'd wait. He wasn't big enough to carry more than just Mana yet. We'll wait

He watched the wolf-man guardedly. Mana would be very upset if he hurt that boy, and that's the last thing the unicorn would want to happen. If necessary, he might have to dump the girl and get involved somehow..though with all those wolves around...

He shuddered visibly.

Iqbal hissed pulling his chin out of his brother's grasp. "You have nothing to do with females as it is. Just take me then."

The man's lips curled eagerly into a smirk as he latched Iqbal's hands behind his back tying them together quickly. "I thought you'd agree." He smiled, making a few sounds to the wolves surrounding the group.

It was as if a language of growls and noises instructed them heard Iqbal and Fortune like scared sheep, away into the icy forest.

Straightening his coat and posture, the man stepped forward to the two girls. "Pleased to meet you two. Friends of Iqbal I see? My name is Saral."

He chuckled at the fear he was bestowing upon both females. "Though, I don't think Iqbal has any real friends, but if you'd like to save him..." He trailed off, pulling out two pieces of parchment from his coat pocket. His sharpened nailed curled around the papers and handed each one to a girl.

"We can have a competition. A little scavenger hunt. Whoever finds Iqbal first gets to go home. Whoever finds him last, well," He paused briefly flicking his tail with a smirk, "We'll deal with that later. Oh, and the deadline is a day. After the 24 hours is up, your chance of finding him dwindles away. So, time is of the essence."

With that, Saral began to walk away from the girls before turning back. "Oh and... remember, time is running out for both you and Iqbal. May want to work fast, girls." He left the girls and their daemons with a smirk and a half wave before traveling back to his pack, Iqbal and Fortune.

((As a note, the quest items for each is on the front page. ^^ I'll be playing NPC's if you two decide to work together or against each other. Totally up to you guys. <3 Just enjoy yourselves and Iqbal's world.))

((Do they both have the same list? ^^ Or is it two separate ones? I'm assuming they both have the same one. <3))

Mana blinked at the man from Harmony's back, eyeing him curiously,
"But what about Iqbal?" she asked, "He gets to come home too, right?"

She didn't like the idea of leaving her two new friends behind! This place didn't seem like much fun at all.

Mana, we have to start looking for the things on that list right away Harmony seemed to have a better idea of the situation, unsurprisingly, than did his charge, I'm going to glance about and see if there's anything nearby that is on it. Tell me what it says

I don't want to leave Echo and Iqbal and Silence and Fortune here! Mana protested.

Harmony sighed Remember, we're still in the house. I don't think anything bad can -really- happen to them here. Okay? Now read the list He didn't really think that the other two and their guardians would be safe, but his priority was Mana. Though, he had to admit feeling a bit sad at the idea of a magnificent fantastical creature such as Fortune being abandoned to the wolves. Such was life, however.

((Yus~ Both girls have the same list. Saral likes his games. XD Fwee.))

Yes, it was true that the house had created this illusion from Iqbal. But was it true that nothing could happen to the boy?

Fortune shivered at the thoughts running through her head. She didn't like these wolves. They seemed deprived, sullen, ready to exhibit any sort of anger or violence.

Not far off, Saral had caught up with his minions when he stopped them to blindfold both Iqbal and Fortune. "Wouldn't want you to see where we are, would I? You might go and try to do something... kind." He whispered out, leading Iqbal into a maze of snow, trees, mountains and frozen lakes until they finally reached a cave. Surprisingly, it seemed modernized, very cozy as Saral shoved the two in.

"Mmm. Now, I'll finally get to talk to you alone." He grinned, forcefully tugging Iqbal to the very back of the cave as Fortune was left to be guarded by the pack of wolves. 'I do hope they can find us in time...'

A wolf claw
A tarot card
A stone pendant
A vial of blood
A bone
A fossil
Fur from an animal
Mana read, though she was still reluctant to leave the others behind. She flushed a little bit, looking at the other girl,
"Do you want to work together on this?...we can use some of Harm's fur, maybe, for the last one..." She looked curiously at the wolves around them,
"Er...do wolves shed their claws like cats do?"

I don't think they do Harmony shook his head And I don't look forward to trying to get one from them.

Mana couldn't help but smile a little bit Maybe we'll try the others first.

(I hate limited Internet hours -pokes all the rp she has missed. This is why my posts sound rushed, so sorry. I just have to catch up with everything xo)

Echo shivered reminicing on the past events. The wolves. Silence's urgent messages relayed from Fortune in warning. Yet it had been to late. Now stranded in this frosted land and with nowhere safe to go. Echo lurched slightly, sliding down to her knees. She quietly regarded the list of items on the parchement the other frightening man handed each of them. Not that she cared so little for Iqbal and Fortune, but the sole fact of going back home and being safe played on her mind. But she wanted nothing to do with the list and prompty crumpled it and shoved it into the nearest pocket on her instrument case.

"I didn't want to do this." She stammered quietly. "Now where do we go?"

-East- Silence concluded, glancing from Harmony to Echo, from Echo to mana and so forth.

-I remember the pigeon cat said something about the village. There might be people there to help us if we tell them what happened.-

Echo looked up at Mana, the wetness in her face freezing in the fridged cold.

"East to a village?" She murmured, more or less asking for permission from the other Forgotten. Her thumbs fumbled about her violin case, yet again thinking of the simple pieces of sheet music she wished to borrow. Not go on any silly adventure of some childish game with some frightening acquaintances.

Silence regarded her with an annoyed look, almost able to read her inner thoughts. Shaking his head as he turned to Harmony.

-We'd best try our luck there.-

Mana blinked,
"How d'you know there's a village to the east?" she asked, fascinated for a second and then looked at the list again,
"Hmm...though, if there is maybe we can find the pendant and the card there! There's always gypsies with tarot stuff in creepy old towns in places like this!"

She nodded, sliding slowly off of Harmony's back. No need for him to run off with her now, that was for certain. They'd get two of everything too, then maybe the other guy would be happy and let them all go. Maybe three! If they got three, there'd be one for Iqbal too!

I'm pretty sure it doesn't work that way, Mana... Harmony informed the little girl, catching drift of her thoughts. She, of course, adamantly ignored his advice.

Do you have issues acutally guarding your charge too? Harmony sent Silence's direction in frustration The only time I get to do any guarding is when she needs me to open something with my horn.

((Er, looking at your sigs, I'm not sure which girls are here, so I'll leave an NPC post. ^^ wink )

The wind rustled among both Forgotten and Daemon. It was slightly soothing, as if a voice was speaking to them in tiny particle fragments and if one where to listen close enough, she (so the voice sounded like) was coming from the east.

Though, it would have been easy for the two to just go on with their merry hunt, Saral happened to slip the word in to a few of his wolves. Sharp golden eyes peered through the evergreens on the couple, waiting to pounce if they stayed any longer. They were hungry, and without their master giving them clear orders, they could finally fill their stomachs.

Mana tilted her head curiously, certain she heard a voice on the wind,
"Do you...hear that?" she asked Echo, peering at the other girl. The dark-skinned elf hugged her arms tightly to her chest, shivering a bit. She could feel the eyes on her as a lingering darkness more than an actual observance of the eyes.

She didn't like it at all.
Harm, this doesn't seem like it's really all that much fun afterall her voice had a bit of a pout in it I want to go home.

Harmony leaned lightly against her, sighing I wish I could get you there. Unfortunately, that's not how this place works he could feel the wolves even more than Mana could, having natural instincts that most of the equine race did against predators. He shuddered visibly.
