Kate considered the potential of being able to see truthfully, as was implied by Ebony's suggestion. Decided that it couldn't be any more painful then seeing the falsehoods in front of her. Shifting her jar under her arm she reached out with a hand and laid it gently on Glass's back.

Immediatly all the darkness cleared up, the door was just a door. Kate smiled, "I think I love your Daemon." She explained to Ebony. No matter where Kate looked everything was in its true form, no hiding.

It was like heaven.

Third declined the offer with a wave of his hand and strode into the illusion with only Constant's murmured instructions as a guide. Though the wolflike daemon did not have powers of true sight, her smell and hearing rendered mere illusions pointless. Looked like a spider, maybe sounded like a spider, but never smelled like a spider.

On the other side, Third continued to frown thoughtfully and glance back at the doorway, clearly unsettled. The exact reason quickly came out. He mused to the open air, "That sort of thing shouldn't happen up here in the House. I hope no one else is in here."

The wind had died down and leaves had blown inside of the house, decorating the floor with their discarded fragrence. The room was vast, bigger than one would have thought from such a shady setting outdoors, but it still smelled faintly of mildew.

There was a clanging noise as Glass walked ahead of Ebony in to the hallway. He looked over his shulder at kate, and gave a mental grin

Ebony blushed furiously.

"Just because someone praises you doesn't mean-," Ebony stopped, and looked around, shivering.

"Its not exactly warm in here, is it?"

Still frowning, Third turned to face the two younger Forgottens and their daemons. "I don't think even the House is very safe today, it might not be a good day to visit. Constant and I can find the things Pippin needs." He did not force the point, but if either girl wanted an out from the task and the danger, he was giving them the chance.

With the looming shadows and the odd illusions, the house was not exactly the most inviting place to be at the moment. But Ebony would not give up this chance for anything, especially if she could manage to find that.

Ebony shook her head.

"No. I will be fine."

Glass grumbled deep in his throat, and his golden heart pulsated slightly.

Ebony stamped her foot impatiently.

"Then leave. I care not," Ebony rolled her eyes, and turned her head, tossising her hair over her shoulder impertinently, "but don't expect me to tell you what I find."

Exchanging a glance with Constant, Third gave a small nod. That was that, then. Deep down, he believed the House and the Library would not try to hurt any of them, but at the same time he was conscious of the fact such assumptions could prove deadly. He resolved both himself and Constant to look after the younger individuals and, if the need arose, keep them out of danger.

Constant wandered over to an exit of the room and waited there, looking back at the others. The room on the other side of the doorway looked innocent enough, but as they already knew firsthand, looks were deceiving.

"The entrance to the Library should be this way," said Third, starting after his daemon. He was reluctant to declare this the proper route; for all he knew, more than just the House's appearance was changed. The rooms could have been reconfigured. Perhaps that was what the machine Pippin described did: kept the House from adopting the malleable traits of the Library.

((3 exams down, 2 more to go. And I'm freeee until Monday - yay!

I hope I don't hold you guys up by not being on when you are smile ))

Just then, coming from the doorway where Constant stood, there came the most unexpected sound. Voices.

"...Quit yuir worrying, lass. I'm fine. And no, I dinna ken where to go next. Maybe if we'd used the door like I said an'..."

The voices got stronger and louder as they appeared to get closer, until the most unlikely pair was framed in the doorway - a small neatly dressed boy, and a large black horse.

"Oh!" The boy blushed, and ran his fingers through his black hair, apparently unsure of what to do now that he found himself with company. He stood frozen in the doorway for a moment, until the horse snorted and nudged him towards the others.

"Er, ah...what are ye doing here?" he finally managed to stammer out. "I thought the door was locked."

"Which door?" came Third's immediate, neutral reply. Another Forgotten, another daemon. This was shaping up to be problematic given the current troubles with the House.

Constant looked up at the horse, quirking her head to the side at the strange new smell.

The horse smirked - well, as best as a horse can. See? I was right, after all.

The boy sighed. "I think he means the front door, lassie," he said to the mare. "And dinna get used to it. It won't happen very often."

He turned to Third. "I hope we're not interrupting anything important?" he asked. "We were just passing by, ye see, and Trouble - that's my Daemon here - said we should get in. Only I thought the door was locked - it dinna budge when I tried it, so we went through the window and...ow!" The mare gave him a quick n** on the shoulder. "Wha' was that for?"

You're rambling again, my boy. She gave him a push towards Third. Go on, introduce yourself!

The boy gulped. "My name's Scotty," he said, brushing horse hairs off his clothes as he spoke.

Trouble snorted, and looked down at Constant. You'll have to excuse my boy, she said. He gets very nervous around strangers.

Desmond made his way up to the House, letter in hand. So the library was acting up again was it? Desmond was vaguely annoyed with the commitment he had to make to such an unwelcoming place, but like it or not, it was his place of origin, and in his mind, that gave him no choice in what must be done. Pippin needed their help, and he was not going to be the one to back down in a time of need.

Orion on the other hand was all for entering the depths of the library to find whatever it was Pippin needed. She thought it sounded like fun and honestly wondered why Desmond wasn't more enthusiastic about what adventures could be lurking around the corner in the building.

"Come on Des! It'll be fun!" she had said to him, "Maybe we'll even find out what in the 'ell that gadget in the wall does ourselves eh, eh?" she had tempted. However, her reasons for going and his were completely of their own, and Orion knew this. Desmond was only here to help his friend. That was fine by her though, because even as they left their home to fly to the House, Orion could already sense the adventure just awaiting.

Pippin's letter, now clenched tightly in his fist, frightened Desmond a little, as he cautiousely made his way along the path up to the front of the House. The building had its reputation for being very strange whenever these sorts of things happend to it. Placing his hand on the doorknob, Desmond took a deep breath to calm his nerves and stared blankly at the portal in front of him.

Crawling out from her place in Desmond's cloak, Orion made her way up to Desmond's right ear and bit it encouragingly.

"Oi Des, go on in. That door ain't gonna open itself." She said with a laugh.

But Orion was wrong. The door flung Desmond's arm aside as it opened quickly to suck both him and Orion into the unknown.

Kate was hardly pleased. Stuffing the list back into her pocket again she leaned up against a wall and waited. She had set down her jar on a near by stand, and just waited.

If these new people wished to join them fine, but enough with the long winded introductions. She couldn't remember if her introduction took so long, she had hoped it didn't. She kept her eyes focused on the group and waited. They were all in this together apparently, so there was no way she was about to do more then she had to because the main lot was too busy not getting to the point. Like, where should we start looking? How should we approach this? Have the others who were in the house to begin with found anything we can cross off our list, or were they just flouncing around like a bunch of bleaters?

Of course, curtsey demanded she keep such unseemly comments to herself. It wasn't a lie. If anyone asked she'd tell them right up. She wasn't being false, just considerate.

While waiting...She hated waiting.

Ebony was not pleased with the turn of events. She felt herself making her body subconsciously smaller, in order to make herself almost less appealing to the newcomers.

Glass made his way over to the newcomer Glass sniffed the air, but did not move any closer. He felt that he was too much of a distraction to newcomers, so he liked to introduce himself to anyone new. Ebony sure was not going to introduce herself easily, or even hapily. Glass always had to prod her (usually pysically as well as mentally) to get her to talk to anyone. Ebony seemed to walk around with a dark sky above her head, and was not personable at all. Glass wondered why she was being so personable on this outing, but he kept his questions to himself.

Glass mentally grinned.

((can daemons project??? shall fix to Ebony saying this, if need be.))

Scotty remained silent waiting for a reply, looking as if he would run out of the room given half the chance. However, the sharp eye of his Daemon prevented him from doing so. Yet.

Trouble bobbed her head in a greeting to the glass Daemon. I've never seen so many of us in the one place, she said with an air of excitement. Is there some sort of celebration going on?

((quick question to Natsube - is Glass' truth ability only in effect if you touch him, or if you are in the same area with him? If so, that could prove interesting - as my two could end up referring to Scotty using his 'real' name, which he doesn't like biggrin

And I believe that Daemons can talk to other daemons, as well as their forgotten - just not another forgotten.))

Third held out a hand to Scotty. "I'm Third and this is Constant." The daemon gave a happy little woof and wagged her tail. Third smiled both towards the new arrivals and at the sound of his daemon. "Were you brought here by Pippin's summons as well?"

Third decided he was going to have to have a chat with Pippin about calling younger Forgotten to the House and the LIbrary when there were problems. There were plenty of older Forgotten and daemons who could better handle the situation, unless Pippin had sent them off to do something else, in which case he should have told Third. Then again, Pippin was Pippin, and such indiscretions were only to be expected. It was hard to hold them against the effervescent fellow. Third just worried about the safety of the younger group. He would never have wanted to put his little sister into such a situation, and she was even a bit older than some of these Forgottens.
