Gods, I don't believe in either anymore. I do believe the classic sang vampire existed along time ago but they have disappeared but may return as spirits or demons.

I think psy vampires are a bunch of bull crap because I've talked to a bunch of them and they say that they give off a lot of negative energy and if they hang out with people too long they get negative too... Well no duh they will, if you hang out with a all-black-wearing creep who doesn't say anything positive all day you're going to get negative. I think it's just a way for people to fill their need of being a vampire without having to drink blood. I think they're also just crazy people who need mood adjustments.

If you knew anything about real vampires you'd know that they were dead corpses that continued to live mindlessly and soullessly in search for human blood. They tend to be hideous, diseased, plague ridden corpses. You don't get those anymore because there aren't any vampires.

Actually the whole dead corpses things has been explained away in folklore as people not knowing what happened to the human body when they died.

Whenever they suspected a dead body of being a vampire they opened up the coffin and since they didn't have any clue as to what happened to the body they assumed it was a vampire for these reasons.

- The blood settles according to the force of gravity causing the red blood cells to leave the capillaries. This causes the skin to pale and start to look waxy.

- During one of the first stages of decomposition the lips curl back making it look like the corpse has an animalistic snarl. The coffin is also filled with a red residue surrounding the mouth.

- The coffin also become filled with liquid which usually mixes with the runny blood that escapes the body when it begins to blister.

- The hairline and nails fall away to reveal "New" skin underneath them. The hairline receded causing the corpse to look like its hair has grown.

- Rigor Mortis also disappears after about three days causing the corpse to look like it has regained the ability to move.

- During one of the stages of decomposition the body begins to bloat causing the corpse to shift around in the coffin, giving it the appearance that it is getting in and out. The bloating also causes it to look like it is well fed and the also causes a male corpse's sexual parts to become bloated making it look like it has an erection.

Because of all of this it is very easy to see why people from back then mistook corpses for living creatures who stalked the night.

Also I must ask, ShadowKuroKarasu, you have wings? What kind of being are you then, I have yet to encounter anything of this realm that had wings.

Succubus. I mostly feel the wings as phantom limbs, and I definitely know when there's a parasite or a lot of holy magic on them. You're also correct in that I've never so much as met another of my kind on this plane.

The whole reason that I posted on this thread is because succubi are typically lumped together with vampires, but I know that they're altogether different beings. I just didn't know many specifics. The main one that came to mind immediately was the food weakness: Vampires have an intolerance for garlic, and succubi typically dislike extremely spicy foods.

Other than that, there really aren't many indications for succubus detection; there's no weakness to sunlight or particular need for sex (getting someone aroused in my vicinity works fine), just the occasional joke that could be taken the wrong way. There's no guaranteed way to weed out a succubus in a crowd unless A) you somehow radiate a HUGE aura of holy magic or B) she tells you. You can see why I was beating around the bush about this. redface

Demons seem a lot more subtle than vampires, on the whole. It's not exactly something that you want to popularize, regardless of the demon type. The general public will more readily accept vampires than any number of demons.

As for the psivamp thing? rofl Sorry, but emo people calling themselves psivamps just makes me laugh inside.

Fascinating stuff really, demons. I've encountered several of them in my time, but never a Succubus.

We should talk about this more, PM me sometime.

Well, normally, I think it is priests who encounter Succubus more often. They're like female sex addicted demons who come in and get funky with you while you sleep.

Skeptics say it's just the whole priests-can't-have-sex-so-the-succubus-tempts-them; that or it's just a priest's wet dream. neutral

Actually, I think that it could be a combination of the two. It's perfectly possible for a succubus to enter a dream and do that, but whether they want to or not is another story.

Fact is, the more willing the victims are, the more likely that a succubus will feed upon them. It doesn't matter if they're clergy or not. If anything, I think they'd stay away from serious clergymen, but at the same time a simple medieval peasant man wouldn't know what a succubus was.

"Sex-addicted?" Only if you give me the right to call humans "food-addicted." sweatdrop Honestly, a modern succubus only needs to feed approx. once or twice a week on lustful energy before she gets hungry again. It doesn't have to be by sex; I stole a bit of someone's energy while he was looking at another girl in my geometry class.

There are vampires, differant types, different looks, etc. most of them are insane from the blood and spiret energy, they get over-addicted and have too much and they die. that is why there isnt a lot of them

Wait, are you telling me, ShadowKuroKarasu, that you are a Succubus. In my field of research there is no way you can be one unless you're a demon. If your father or mother was and Succubus or Incubus it still doesn't mean you're one. (An example of this half mortal half demon parentage is Merlin.)

That's exactly what I'm saying, but that's not how it happens. Long story short, I'm a sealed being.

Of course I believe in both. I have even met a few...only online though. One, who is sang (I think) is actually the leader of a pagan/vampire church that I'm a member of online...it has a physical presence but it's far away...

Personally, I am neither...but I do consider myself non-human. One part of that is an elf, and the other I'm not sure of...possibilities include that I may be schizo.

Oh, and ShadowKuroKarasu, you being a succubus intrigues me so. How did you ever manage to find out you are one? Was there a trigger? Or a series of events? What are the common traits? Give me everything you possibly can...please?

How'd I find out? First, by seeing a few pics and feeling oddly connected, then getting a few messages via dreams that usually had vivid effects of some sort. I'd also been feeling phantom limbs (namely my wings) for quite a while before I added up everything.

As for common traits, think about it: What traits WOULD a seduction demon have? Main ones to know are the spicy food trigger (spicy foods are just OUCH to me), an attractive aura, a weakness to high amounts of holy magic, and, as you'd expect of a demon of the night, a preference for the evening. Please note that, although I've never actually met another of my kind on this plane, it's quite likely that most succubi you'd meet are passive feeders the majority of the time. 3nodding

Strangely you just described a lot about me...but that could be a bunch of other things to...no conclusions yet...I'll have to reaserch more into other creatures...

I feel the same way about the Good People but it doesn't necessarily make me a Changeling, does it?

Some people draw these conclusions to easily, it just shows that you love the creature and are looking too hard and believing too that you are one. The second paragraph makes me believe less...

I mean I've felt a connection with the People of Peace, I've met them in my dreams and real life, and a number of other things that makes me feel connected but I still see it as me being one of the rare folks they seems to tolerate.

Normally I believe most things but when someone says they're a vampire, werewolf, or demon I need a lot of proof other than "connections" and dreams.

I have to agree with Dark Lord M. I feel the same about vampires and other demons but I know this doesn't make me one. I'm more active at night and my senses are increased, I also love the look of blood. I also feel at times the phantom limb wings that you say you do and it is very unconfortable to deal with, and I believe it is caused by tension in the shoulder muscules.

And one question why on earth would a demon be 'triggered' by spicy food?
