Kylie caught the messenger bird as it was shot down by an archer. She looked at it, and then untied the message, letting the bird drop to the ground in a heap. She looked up, the paper catching fire instantly, pulling a flute from her belt, shrilling three notes. All of the warriors of the village looked up, and knew what it was. About sixty percent heralded the call, and gathered at the crest of the hill Kylie was on.

In the distance an olive form fluttered in the wind, carrying with it the divine scent of a rare blue rose. Unfathomable to one why a warrior such as this would possess a scent would confuse any who came across him. And yet the small letter in his grasp told him of the clan he had been so interested in. The writing style was elegant, like that of an ancient author's signature, and yet at the same time, a portion of the characters painted upon the aged paper appeared foreign to him, unfamilar in some way.

The musical notes had made his ear twitch, perhaps from a flute of some sort. It snapped the man back to attention while his right hand instinctively dropped to his sword. As unfortunate as it was, his instincts were always on the fritz despite the most peaceful of sounds. His experiences had shown him that despite the innocence upon one's face even death can be brought on by such a person.

His dark blue eyes flickered in the moon light, trailing back down towards the hill ahead of him. He soon bore witness to an interesting sight, a small battalion of warriors lined up at the base of the hill. Undoubtedly there would be archers amongst their ranks, and once again his hand rested comfortably upon the battle-scarred sword hilt.

"Only if it is absolutely necessary..."

One of their ranks, The one in the lead, turned to this mysterious smelling man. Her firm step, and vicious eyes, coupled with her shining armor denoted her as something special. She came, her arm tense on her blade, another on her right side. She hesitated not a breath, before she spoke, "Who are you?" She said crisply.

Amongst the ranks of warriors, the one in the lead caught his attention. What was worse was the fact the the lead warrior was a woman. He hesitated, before placing the blue rose in his hair underneath the collar. Often times the rose had an aphrodisiac-like affect on women, and it had gotten him into trouble many times when sulking at a tavern. Blue eyes locked onto her tensed hand that was quite busy clasping down on the hilt of her sleeping blade.

Yet moments later they shifted upwards, locking with the woman's own beautiful eyes. The aged warrior took a normal military stance as if reporting to a superior, despite the fact that he wasn't in the military and his hands weren't resting beside his hips, one was diligently place on the hilt of his b*****d sword, and the other inside his pocket. He continued with his gaze locked unto hers, his voice never faltering or cracking as he spoke, "I was once known as Damian of the long forgotten House of Striker. Now I am known as Chimera..." his voice was strong, yet equally calm while his gaze slipped past hers and towards the other warriors beside her, hoping none of them would recognize the family name...for the Striker family was cursed and a "chimera" struck them down in the name of Nerull....

Kylie nodded. "Have you come to stay, or to fight us?" Her voice stayed even, and from her eyes, it seemed neither would upset her. The others stirred slightly, but out of unrest rather than anything else.

"I am to assume this is the clan of the Broken Sword then, correct?" he asked, his voice maintaining its tone despite the stiring around of the other warriors. From underneath his cloak he outstreched his hand and within his grasp was a small parchment. Inside it was the letter to him which he had recieved from Hykoshi's messenger bird.

"Perhaps this will help clarify why I am here." Chimera said, holding it out for her read.

"Hm." She said, eyeing the paper. Indeed, it was her master's writing, and he had named the clan without even being asked. "You are welcome then. I will have to orient you later, for now we are mobilizing for a.... special assignment." Kylie looked back to the main camp, or small town as it would appear, with the buildings being erected. "You can either come with us, and prove your strength, or stay and prove your use." She turned back to the newcomer. "Which do you prefer?"

"I don't see the harm in joining you and assisting with with your 'special assignment' as you put it." He said, nodding calmly, all the while adjusting the blade sheathed upon his back. Thankfully he hadn't been walking too long or else his choice would have been the latter. Plus now would be the opportunity to see the strength of some of the clansmen, and women.

"So....what does this assignment consist of?" he asked, with his eyes flickering warmly.

Shela (or Taka if you prefer) gazed down at the scene before her, slightly confused, but still pondering. It looked as though many warriors were gathering, some being of the clan her mother was once in...
"Perhaps a soothing song?" she asked herself quizically, she pulled out her Violin, stood up, and began to play a song that consisted of long low harmonies that were smooth, and warm. She focused on the warriors who were of the Broken Sword Clan, sending this musical message to them.
Though inexperienced, Shela knew that a few bars would be plenty of this song, so she stopped playing, and let the music assume it's role. Her hair began to fade from a cool blue to a dark brown as it whipped in the wind. She sat, not knowing if anyone would really be calmed, or if her powers were faulty.
"If I am destined to accept my heritage, I must wait and see what will happen" she sang a happy little song to herself so that she may become jovial as normal, instead of fidgety and worried.

"The assignment is spying on the Immortalis. A dangerous one indeed." She would have continued speaking, but music was heard. She looked up the hill, to the culprit, as did all of the gathered warriors. Few were calmed, as they had strong anti-spells, but those who were seemed to daydream instantly. A dark warrior raised his bow, and yelled to her"Who are you?" He was a good twenty yards fropm Kylie and the newcomer, as well as the girl.

"I was named Taka, but I was renamed Shela, I control power over music, If that isn't apparent." Rang out the girl's musical voice. She played a short, sharp, minor second, causing those without anti-spells to be released fromtheir trance. "Even though I'm young, I can see that your warriors have little natural spell defense." She said sweetly, not trying to sound offensive, but she did sound offensive.

Oneshot, the archer said coldly. "Musical magic carries different characteristics than most others." He sounded quite frank in his answer. He lowered his bow, and turned away. Kylie sighed. "Newcomer, over here." She didn't even care if Hykoshi had referred this one, she seemed talented enough to be useful.
