-"mmuuuhh HAVEO!! dang it!! your gonna get hurt!!.."
chuki said as he cought the branch and put himself up slowly...he almost fell but cought himself again , then as he had all four paws on the lagre and thick branch he turns around and serchs for any signs of haveo...
he cliams down back to the surface paceing back and forth looking for his freind..
-"haveo!!! come back already ....you stupid croc!! leave my friend a lone!! or else!"
chuki said as he hit the edge of the water with the front of his paws...he looks around to see if he could us anything...then seeing as it was helpless he shouted..
-"somebody help us!! please help my friend!!"

Haveo led the crocodile through a maze of underwater tunnels. Finally gotten the croc far enough from him so that he wouldn't know where to go. At last reached the fork in the tunnels and headed right his lungs begging for air.
A ring of bright light shone upon the water. Haveo headed towards the surface and pulled himself up panting still. Once he regained his breathe Haveo ran out of the underwater cavern and headed up.
He reached the entrance of the cave that was hidden in the mountain side. He headed back towards the lake. Once there he saw Chuki in the water. Haveo cracked up at Chuki's loudness and began to laugh loudly, but once he was able to breathe his brain worked once again realizing that the crocodile might find its way out he called out through the laughs.
"Ch-ch-Chuki! Get out of-of-there!! now!"

chuki heard a vioce but thought he was hearing things..then he heard it again..
-"haveo?"
chuki said in a confused vioce..he looks all around and try to find out which way the sound was coming from ,,then at the far roght he saw haveo head and his mouth moving..
"HAVEO!! your ok!!.."
chuki ran toward him as fast as he could not even worring about the croc any longer...he was wet and shooken up but at least haveo was ok..
"what happen down there! you scared me i thought you were dead or sumthing...dont you ever do that again!!.."
he said while tring to hold back his smile, in the joy of seeing him..then bounces on him with no energy...making chuki fall to the ground frist...he layed there not moving a mucsle as his eyes look around..
-"are we ok here haveo?? i dont thing i can run, swim , claim or anything right now..."
the little pup says as he rools over on his back .

"Well I told you that i knew this area better than you! Under the lake is some tunnels! they end up in a cave over there. And yes we can rest."
Haveo rolled out from under Chuki and looked at him boredly.
"We're gonna have to go to the pridelands...that's where the lions are...and where some hyena's might be...but we'll be okay in there. I heard that the leader of the lions can be very nice."

chuki ears shoot up as he mentiond the pride lands..
-"did you say the pride lands!!..thats were my family was headed before those stupid elephants seperated us...thats were my mother and father are gonna be at!!"
he says getting excited...he jumps to his feet and strats to look around as if he new which way to go
"when can we leave haveo? huhuhuh?"

Haveo opened one eye seeing as how Chuki some how regained his energy.
" yea yea we'll go later Chuki...I'm tired."
Haveo then went deeper into the forest in slepts besides a tree praying that Chuki would have patience in him.

chuki saw haveo walk away and flopd down on the ground again...
-"fine have it your way i'm sleeop anyhow.."
he lays his head on his paws as he stares out to knowwhere...he mind races on the thought of maybe seeing his parents...never any bad thoughts even tiptoed through .

Haveo looked sleepily over at Chuki and slowly dragged himself over toward Chuki and plopped himself ontop of him.
"Too cold to not share body heat..."
With that Haveo slept small snores escaping his mouth.

chuki moves alittle..not to to bother haveo...he dreams of his family and hopes his new friend will lead him there very soon , and hopefully reunite with his mother ,fateher ,bothers and sisters...these thoughts made him happy , and haveo made him happy ..he gave off a small smile as he layd there...he had rested , for him, long enough....it was all thoghts that had put some enegy in to him.The sky was a dark blue and the wind felt good against his fur...the sounds of the nite creatures all around could be heard now...his eyes wander as fireflys disapear then reapear....he gives out a he blow air through his nose, make the sand/dust fly alittle ....
-"when are you gonna wake haveo?"
chuki thought as he waited.

Haveo woke and looked over at Chuki with haze filled eyes. Sleepily he asked, "Do you ever sleep Chuki?"
With that Haveo streached out yawning before finally fully waking up.
"okay Chuki let's get going. But we're gonna have to pass through the Elephant Graveyard..." Haveo looked down sadly before he pushed Chuki off the ground.
"Come on Chuki. Don't be lazy, you want to meet up with your family right?" 'And maybe I'll see mine...' Haveo began to walk forward a few paces and then stopped waiting for Chuki to catch up.

chuki jump to his feet in excitment..he was all to ready for there trip to the pride lands..this was what he's been waiting for and hopfull his parents would be waiting...he follows close behind haveo sayin' nothing and with just a big smile on his face...
-how far is it haveo?"
he says as he trots along there path.

Haveo looked at Chuki who trotted beside him as he spoke.
"It might be a day or two...unless you want to cut through the elephant graveyard..."
Haveo trailed off knowing that the ball was in Chuki's court. He knew that if they cut through the graveyard would not take them as long, but he also knew that either his family or another hyena tribe would be there. He feared that if it was some other hyena group they would be attacked and killed. Then neither of them would see their families.

The hornbill Zazu sighed in pleasure as he flew through the jungle. It was nice to be back in dense foliage again, after the searing heat of the pridelands. He relaxed, feeling the cool breeze on his wings, and scanned the area for some nice tasty fruit.

Lazily a black vine twitched, curling upwards, then back down against the tree limb it lay coiled upon. Twitch....twitch curl, twitch. Further along the tree limb, closer to the trunk, it was as if the tree opened its mouth and yawned. However, would a tree have a rough pink tongue and needle sharp pearl white teeth? Green eyes opened sleepily, slowly focusing upon the terrain around her. Long ago she'd decided not to be the scared little cub that she'd realized herself to be. Food was a plenty here, long as she had the patience and curiosity to catch up with it. Water here was as common as the trees and vines that hung in the air. She couldn't imagine being anywhere else. It had to be the best place to live.
Mmph...so tired..Maybe just a few more minutes of sleep...
The young black leopardess' head drooped back towards her pillow, the tree, as she drifted back into sleep. Wakefulness just wasn't her style, in the light of day. Nighttime was more her style. It was doubtful that she'd wake up for a while now.

The thin, lithe meercat pranced through the jungle on his own that morning, a leaf placed unceremoniously on the top of his head. With a jaunty whistle, he began picking bugs off low-hanging tree limbs that he passed, then dropped them on the leaf and continued his walk. But it seemed that the meercat had already had his fill... for his stomach was rather bulged, and swayed side-to-side when he walked. Laughing, Timon swallowed a giant slug, then patted his ever-growing stomach and continued walking.
"Ahhhhh, this is the life!"
