((I think the person playing the managers isn't here at the moment, so feel free to treat the as NPCs. That also means Carlotta can be treated in the same manner. I have no idea whether Trackstar intends to play the character or not.))

((Well, other than the initial claiming of characters she hasn't really shown up. For now play her as an NPC. We'll give her a couple more days before someone else is allowed to take the role. Let's call this a grace period.))

Andre and Firmin came cover to the viscomte.

"Ah! Our new patron!" Andre came up to Raoul and shook his hand.

"Everyone! This is the Viscomte de Change (( er...i forgot how to spell his name ))" Firmin said, also shaking Raoul's hand.

Raould bowed his head to the people on stage. "An honor to meet you all..." he said with a handsome smile.

((Noted and understood, Unromantic_Phantom. After all, we can't go much farther without the managers. So... Raoul? Would you do the honors of bringing in our lovely new managers and our former one?))

~Bella~

Having been told that she didn't have to do anything at the moment, Bella had a short time to herself. She decided to spend this meandering back towards her fellow dancers and seeing what they were up to.

She spotted Mary Jane attempting to tighten her costume and came up. "Can I help with that?" she asked quietly, glancing about to make certain Madame Giry didn't see her not helping the stagehands as she'd been directed.

Then her eyes sparkled a bit with interest. "Whose wine was that?" she asked innocently, even as her conscience screamed at her that she had promised no more wine.

Bah, promises to oneself was more like... helpful hints. Guidelines, even...

((You're doing great, Elven Foxx. Is there anyone else in the guild we could PM (read: nag) into joining the RP? Because we are missing a few parts, it's true...

Oh, Elven Foxx? Raoul's name is Vicomte de Chagny, I think. Though I may have the spelling of "Vicomte" wrong. ^^; I suppose we can all just call him "Monsieur Patron" or something...))

((Elven, it's either Viscount (English way) or Vicomte. His surname is de Chagny. ^^))

Antoinette ran a hand through what loose hair she had, the rest courteously done up in a braided bun. Why she never cut her hair was beyond her. She always liked brushing long hair and fixing it, even if it was her own.
Her eyes caught sight of a little white thing glinting in the air before landing at her feet. If she wasn't in full possession of her faculties, she would've laughed and thought it snow. But it wasn't snow. The red wax skull seal was enough to tell her what it was, who it was for, and who sent it.
"Once again I deliver your mail Erik." She mumbled as she bent over to pick up the letter. And indeed, scrawled in red ink in meticulous handwriting was 'To Mssrs. Andre & Firmin'. So the rumors were true. Madame Giry pocketed the letter to give later on when the managers arrived and had their bit of fun. Oh they didn't know what Mssr. LeFauvre was selling them. She smiled at this, knowing utter chaos was to ensue in order to set the new managers straight.
Acting as if nothing had happened, Antoinette made her way to the stage area where she could see something big was about to go underway. She could only hope La Carlotta would keep her big trap shut.

((Thanks for the clarification, Unromantic_Phantom and Utakan. I've seen it both ways so many times I was getting confused.))

~Monsieur Reyer ~

Carlotta truly was in fine voice tonight. They had barely finished the fourth measure of her opening line when he'd noticed the stagehands shoving cotton into their ears. Oh, if only he could do the same...

The diva was hitting the notes, but barely. And she had a tendency to... Is there even a term for this? he wondered.

After a moment, he decided that "warbling" was the best he could come up with. Simply put, this was highly unpleasant to listen to.

I need a respite from this, but technically she is doing no wrong, he thought wearily. Then he winced as she belted out a particularly high note. My poor old ears. And my family wonders how I could possibly be going deaf...

Grimacing as he listened to La Carlotta, Erik grabbed a hold of the rope that was holding the nearest backdrop aloft. The moment was now, and he was glad it had come. Certainly he could not bear to listen to anymore of this...this...Well, whatever it was it surely wasn't singing.

Quickly undoing the rope, he let go of it and the entire thing fall. Almost immediately chaos ensued as the backdrop fell and knocked Carlotta to the floor with a shriek that one might have almost mistaken for a correct note. The woman practically threw herslef to them floor, and then she began screaming as though the backdrop had been the thing to knock her down. Erik leaned over the railing slightly with an almost eager smile on his face as stagehands quickly rushed to remove the scenery piece in hopes that it would at least slightly quiet some of the womans screams.

With a quiet chuckle he departed from the catwalks before anyone gained the sense enough to look up to see what had happened. He would not be far away, but only in the instance that things did not go quite as he wanted them. I'll show those new managers their place in my opera house, he thought in smug satisfaction.

~ Monsieur Reyer ~

The old director had no time to react; only moments after his last thoughts, a backdrop had inexplicably crashed to the ground, taking Carlotta with it.

He jumped backwards, staring as stagehands rushed to help the diva back to her feet. The woman had let out a spectacularly loud shriek- which, ironically enough, was the correct pitch for her next note- as she had fallen. Now, she was busy screeching at any and everybody who was in range of that powerful set of lungs she owned.

Namely, everyone in the Opera Populaire.

He winced, and earnestly pleaded to the air, I didn't mean a respite that harmed her!

Well, he thought guiltily, at least his ears had a brief rest from her singing. Though her normal speaking voice was an entirely different story.

Carlotta stood as she was helped up by stagehands, "Geta away from mea, I can helpa myself. Only who in god's namea alloweda that backdrop to falla?" Andre and Firmin rushed to her, "Signora, These things do happen." She glared at them. "For the past three years THESE THINGS DO HAPPEN? AND DID YOU STOP THEM FROM HAPPENING NO! And you two! You are as BAD AS HIM! These things do happen! MA.. Ugh.. Until you stop these things from happening, this thing DOES NOT happen! Ubaldo! Adiamo!" She heard someone gasp. "Bring my doggy.." Her voice faded before she began yelling again.

Piangi looked to the managers, a sneer quite visible on his face. "Amateurs."

"And Ciao! SEE! I'm REALLY LEAVING!" She stated as loudly as she could whilst storming away.

Christine watched this, her eyes widened. "Uh.." She looked around then to Meg, who she was standing by. "What was that all about, again..? Something about these things do happen.." She shook her head, "Anyway.." She kept to what she was doing, helping the ballerinas again.

Firmin frowned, muttering something around the grounds of having to refund. Andre, as though he heard, nodded, then looked to Madame Giry.

(Just woke up, so, my posts won't be alive for a bit.)

Antoinette's going to want to have a word with me for that little stunt, but even she will have to admit that everything sounds so much more pleasant without La Carlotta, thought Erik holding a hand over his mouth to keep from bursting into laughter. Carlotta was truly a prima donna in all senses of the word.

He watch the ballet girls chattering with one another in a small group. He could pick out a few mocking comments aimed at Carlotta, and he was certain that he heard a few people trying to immitate her. Of course, none of them could quite get her accent, and certainly they could not immitate her piercing shrieks. That was something he was certainly thankful for. He didn't want to have to drop scenery on them. He would never hear the end of it from Antoinette if he ever did. Endangering loud, annoying, demanding, and altogether unpleasant divas was one thing, but he would be a fool to dare endagering the ballerinas. She knew the truth about him.

Turning his attention towards the old and new managers, he had to clap a hand over his mouth again to keep from laughing at the expression on Monsieur Lefevre's face. The man looked as though he was about to pass out on the spot. That suited him just fine. Let the man be worried about whether that most recent mishap was a sign of the Opera Ghost's displeasure at not being informed of his retirement. It had irked him that he'd had to find out on his own.

The two new managers, Mssrs. Andre and Firmin, looked like they were about to have a fit at the thought of having to refund people's money. They were greedy. That was something he could use to his advantage. Certainly they would be open to almost any alternative than refunds. "This day is turning out to be quite wonderful," he whispered with a feral smile.

Desiree laughed at Carlotta when the curtain had come down. Finally, I've been wanting to get rid of her since she began her! Desiree thought to herself. "It be the good work of the Opera Ghost, and I thank him of that." Desiree said to Christine, Bella, and Mary Jane. It was not uncommon for her to enjoy La Carlotta's misfortunes and mishaps. "You know, I'd prefer that you would sing Christine, after all, you have been taking lessons from that misterious stranger, have you not? I'm sure you will sound better than that Carlotta!" Desiree exclaimed with a big smile, and sly eyes. Only she needed Christine to triumph to make all of the opera look wonderful, and perhaps for her suggesting it, she could get promoted!
