The halfling chuckled a little bit. "No, those are all people, and there's still many I haven't named. Neko has a lot of pets, too, though... A lot of cat-like and dog-like creatures mostly, but some others as well."
At the question, he frowned slightly. "Well, I suppose that depends on who you are. Having a full house like mine, sometimes it's nice because there's always someone around to talk to. However... when you want to be alone, it's hard at times as privacy is practically a random occurance. I think the only reason I'm even able to get any alone time is because they fear Demian's wrath, and they haven't been able to figure out when he's in the body yet."
He smiled, taking a bite from his ice cream. "I'm a little jealous of you, Paestri. Sometimes, I really wish there weren't so many people at the house. I want to say that you're lucky... However, in your eyes, maybe having few people around is worse than having many. I really don't know, since I just met you and I have no idea what you like in company."

"What makes Demian so scary to others?" Paestri couldn't help but ask, then again very little scared Paestri nowadays. At the question Demare posed, the pink-haired girl went quiet as she tried to formulate her thoughts. In her eyes were mild confusion and an uncertainty of things, particularly how she perceived specific issues.
While Paestri thought about her answer, Malady opted to give Demare a piece of its mind. "People are overrated, their wishes, hopes, desires, they're ALL worthless. And if you try helping them achieve any of it, they turn on you just because they end up getting what they deserved. Being around as few people as possible is for the best!"
"Not right now, Mal." Paestri's voice was unusually stern at the Intangible's ranting. But the smile on her lips never left.

Demare was silent a moment, his lips pursed together as Malady ranted. His head hung down a little, his bangs falling over his eyes for a moment while his long lock of hair spilled over his shoulder. Even his wings drooped down as he seemed gloomy, a bit surprised at himself for saying what he did next.
"No, you're absolutely right, Malady," he responded, an eerie smile creeping up on his lips. "People can't be trusted... You give anyone an inch, and they walk all over you. Humans take each other for granted, killing one another and others not like them, solely for the fact that they believe they are superior." For only a moment, his voice completely changed. It sounded sinister and evil, but Clare didn't seem to notice. It was almost as if he didn't even hear what he'd said. "One day... I'll cleanse the world of them all."
Shaking his head, he sighed, turning his eyes up toward the sky as his voice returned to normal. "I believe... everyone deserves a chance. That everyone, somehow, has some good in them. Demian, however... I've given up on him. He terrorizes the others, threatening to bring them harm of they don't do what he asks, and simply does everything he can to get the others to hate him. Some of them ignore it... Half the time, they're empty threats. But... he's hurt some of them before, so they tend to stay away from us..."

Malady was accustomed to saying its thoughts and being heard by only Paestri, so it felt both awkward and uneasy for another person to not only listen to its ramblings but to agree with it. Tendrils extended out of its body and entwined around each other in a mimicry of a person folding his arms across his chest.
"Psh, that's a lot of ingrates you wanna get rid off. You wanna think of teaming up with something?" it joked nervously, from its tone of voice, Malady wasn't really serious about it.
Paestri tapped her chin thoughtfully as she listened to Demare. She noted the difference in the voices and the disparity between the words, "You just said two completely opposing things just now, before you talked about Demian I mean. So everyone hides from Demian because he hurts them? Physically? Mentally? Both?" she prods as she finished her ice cream.

The halfling raised a brow at the first comment, not knowing what she was talking about, and why Malady wanted to team up. He said something before talking about Demian? ...Well, he did remember speaking, but for some reason, he couldn't remember what he'd said. Perhaps he had just been rambling.
"He's..." he started, trying to think of how to explain it. "Well, he's hurt some of them physically, but the only one I can remember clearly was when he hurt Neko. I've been told he hurt Dargon once, and he's hurt Micheal by not taking care of him while I'm not in the body, but mostly he just scares them mentally. Kinda that phrase, 'all talk, no action'. Or however it goes. I think he only hurts anyone physically when they really make him angry, or he's trying to damage my psyche. So I guess in a way, he does both."

"Hmmm, Demian sounds like he needs a better way to deal with his anger or his insek, uh, insercu, the stuff he feels bad about." Paestri murmured and finished the last of her ice cream. She popped the tip of the cone into her mouth before licking her fingers clean.
"Has anyone tried to punish him when he does these stuff or do you get punished by accident?" It seemed like a perfectly normal question to Paestri.

Demare drank a little bit of his ice cream, having allowed it to melt partially while they were talking. Luckily, it wasn't dripping out of the bottom of the cone yet.
"Demian has trust issues... As for being punished, more often than not I'm the one who gets the most of it, only because everyone has a hard time telling who's who," he sighed, shaking his head a little bit. "Even when he does get caught, he doesn't care. Being punished does nothing for him... It only causes me to suffer more, thus making him content."

"That's not very nice, is it?" Paestri asked, canting her head slightly as she gazed at the setting sun. "I mean, isn't it normal for someone to feel bad if they get someone hurt or in trouble?"
"It could be that it's normal for someone to enjoy another person's suffering, and it's abnormal not to feel that way." Malady offered with a snicker.

"Again, Malady is correct," the halfling explained, watching the sun as it began to disappear into the horizon. He hadn't quite realized what time it was yet, nor did he seem to notice the slight pain forming in his left side as he finished his cold treat. "For some people, they take pleasure in seeing others suffer, seeing them in pain. They feel it to be strange that other people don't enjoy this, feeling that they are the only ones in the right while everyone else is in the wrong."
His wings fidgetted a little bit. "It disgusts me... but it's the way some people are."

Paestri grew quiet as she stared at the sunset, a small smile on her face. When the last few rays of light descended beneath the horizon, she turned to Demare. "Wasn't that so pretty? It's always new and it's pretty in different ways. There was a time I saw some balloons floating away, they looked like sprinkles on cotton candy," she giggled. "That was my favorite sunset, do you have any nice sunsets?"
Malady had grown restless at the sunset, if you've seen one, you've seen them all. It couldn't share in Paestri's delight for the setting of the sun. Then again, the Intangible couldn't share in Paestri's delight, period.
"It's getting late and your brother is probably working himself into a conniption looking for you," it declared, though it wasn't out of concern. It sounded more like it was taking delight in the fact that Paestri's brother was probably beside himself with worry.

Demare smiled a little bit, a contrast compared to the mood he had just been in. What was it with girls and making things seem better? Or maybe it was just the change in subject.
"I... Well, sunsets usually aren't that great for me," he explained, standing up a bit slowly. "Something bad tends to happen around that time... Which means I also need to take my leave."
His head felt like it was about to split. He hoped he wasn't too late...
"Thank you for talking with me, Paestri. You as well, Malady; it was nice to meet you both. Would you like me to walk to guys ba--"
Before he could continue his sentance, the halfling doubled over in pain, appearing to faint as he fell onto his back.
No...! No no no no no!! Demian, you can't do this! Clare potested, almost knowing what would happen next.
Watch me, the demon sneered before taking control of the body.

Paestri rose and began to dust off the dirt from her skirt, "No problem, I like talking to new people." she smiled. Icing pink eyes watched as Demare fell onto his back in pain, and blankly stared at the fallen Legend.
"It's going to be hard for you to walk with your back on the ground." She giggled. It was not that she derived any sense of amusement at Demare's expense. She just didn't think it was necessary to ask if he was alright. He didn't say anything about hurting nor did he ask for her help.
Malady, on the other hand, yelped in confusion as it hid behind Paestri. Had it a solid form, it would have been easier to notice it was shaking but with its wispy shape, it was rather hard to tell.
"I think we should go now." it whimpered.

The halfling's body twitched and spasmed slightly, Demian doing his best to recover with as little movement as possible. A moment later, his bi-colored eyes snapped open, the little slits above his right eye opening slightly to reveal a glowing red color. Carefully, he sat up, wincing a little bit as he flexed his wings.
"Ow..." he whined, standing up slowly, pretending to be hurt. "What just happened...?"

Paestri leaned in a little closer to Demare, a cheerful smile still on her lips.
"You were saying something about walking us and then you just fell." She explained, "Where does it hurt?" she asked, taking a step toward the winged Legend.

The halfling grimaced, arching his back as if he couldn't stand up straight. This was perfect... He was fooling her. But why was only the shadow scared?
"Right..." he began to say, reaching his right hand toward his back before it shot out, firming grasping onto the collar of her dress. Demare straightened himself out, a mischievious smirk spreading across his lips as he lifted her into the air with ease, allowing her feet to dangle over the ground. "...here."
No one was about... It was just the right setting. Only them and an intangible, and that stupid book that was now on the ground. Even if she were to scream, he'd be able to make a quick escape, as darkness was quickly consuming the sky.
"Tell me, girl," he purred, his eyes narrowing into little slits, "are you afraid of... heights?"
