With a wicked grin, Lyra grabbed Aiko firmly by the waist.
"Ready?" he asked, trying to keep his thoughts out of his voice. Oh, it was right there... Carefully, he gave her a push up onto the dragons back.

Jayde winked and smiled.
"It's always muscle when a lady weighs more than she did previously, right?" Yes, she'd heard the horrible story from Lyra, what'd happened to Aiko while she was away. But she hoped it would ease some of the tension in the room.
"But either way, I know it must be hard carrying someone all that way. Would you like to rest upstairs for a while?"

"Your hot cocoa has quite revived me, Lady." Elysia smiled as she stood up, as her hot cocoa was finished. "If you'll permit, I think I'll wonder and wish a Merry Christmas to the rest of your family."
Aiko had to supress a giggle as Lyra helped her up. Sure, Aiko was a very tough woman, sure, she'd been through a lot. But she loved being treated like a dainty lady sometimes...

Jayde smiled and nodded.
"Well, I'm certainly glad you're feeling better, and I know that everyone would love to see you and wish you a Merry Christmas. Ah," she stopped to think a moment at that, trying to remember where everyone was.
"Damen has escaped the cold weather--he said he was allergic to snow, whatever that means. And I guess pretty much everyone else is upstairs."
Outside, Dav held perfectly still as everyone got seated. When Aiko was in place, Corli fluttered up to settle in her lap before Lyra could help him up. The kath was just too slow for him!

Lyra chuckled warmly as Corli made his way up the dragons side on his own. Following suit, the kath leapt easily up to sit behind the both of them, wrapping his arms tightly around the precious cargo.
"Tally ho, I guess," he said.

"Thhen lhet uss be off," was the dragon's reply. With a few beats of his powerful wings, they were airborne.
"Mhake ssure hyou tell me hrere hyour den iss," he told Aiko. Ah, this was it! He could feel the life back in him now, the fire growing as he flew. Resisting the urge to shake himself, Dav blew a little bit of smoke out his nose to amuse the little one and express his excitement.

*** "Nigelnigelnigel!""Nigel!"The man in question was walking out of the kitchen with a sandwich in his hand as two of the children, Shippou and Julia, came running up to him, plowing into him and latching onto his knees. He stumbled back a step and, some how managing not to snap angerly at them, gave them a rightful glare.
"What?""Mama outside!""So?""With a biiiiii~g dragon!""... what's she done now," he mumbled as he walked (waddled?) with the two children still clinging to him, and opened the door, staring up at the large figure that was starting to descend on the lawn. "The hell's going on NOW?" he shouted.

"... excuse me?"
Aiko lept from Dav's shoulders after making sure Corli was safe in Lyra's lap and dashed up the front walk to where Nigel was standing with Shippou and Julia attached.
"Snow. On the island. Get everyone bundled up and let's go." Patting Julia and Shippou on the head, she pushed into the doorway. "Come on, come on, no time to waste!"
"Snow?" Julia blinked.

Leaving corli carefully settled on Dav's back, Lyra slipped down on the ground, preparing to help any of the little ones up that needed it.

Chii was the first out, as she, well, didn't feel cold and didn't need any special cover. She was, however, wearing a santa hat. Edward and Alphonse were on her trail, both sporting little scarves around their necks. Paine, Shippou, and Julia followed close behind in heavy clothing. Paine was complaining about it being hot and not understanding what was going on, but Aiko was insisting she'd see soon enough. Lucas was latched to Julia's tail. Nigel had thrown on a sweater and was starting down the path -- he was coming along because Aiko had guilt tripped him into doing so (and reminded him of the possibility of Ana being there). The Core was safe inside its new little necklace holder and around Aiko's neck -- it was coming, too.
Aiko, now in her christmassy outfit, closed the door and started counting.
"Ichi ni san shi go roku nanatsu hachi kyuu... we're missing one."

gonk They hadn't even left yet and there was already someone missing! The inner 'vater' that Lyra tried so hard to ignore kicked in and he counted behind Aiko, making sure she hadn't missed one, and wondering how many rooms there were in that massive house.
"Who are we missing?" he said in...somewhat of a calm voice.

Aiko smiled and trotted across the lawn to the gate that led to her backyard, and dissapeared again. Soon, she was walking out of the house with a little pink girl, wearing a red jacket that was several sizes too big for her.
"Juu," she said as she kissed Ortensia on the forehead.

A little bit calmer now, but curious as to all of the different kinds of children, Lyra noticed the new outfit that Aiko was wearing.
And got a whole new appreciation for Christmas.
Clearing his throat, he counted behind her once more. Eleven...he supposed that's what she counted to.
"Eh, who needs a little help getting on the dragon?" he asked, somewhat sheepishly.
