Sol'Vak nods. "Excellent. Then so long as the loft is still intact our rest area for the evening is set." Karee whips past overhead, ripping the roof off the cottage Sol'Vak was just in, causing a gust of wind to kick up, Sol'Vak's cloak flaying all about. He grins and puts a hand to the bracelet at the top of his right arm. Karee was flying overhead, the roof in her claws, she drops on a small group of resistance and throws the roof at them, hoping to crush each of their forms. Sol'Vak removes his hand from the bracelet and looks Flint over. "So she Did have a reason for taking that... Good." Then realizing that Flint likely had no idea what he was talking about he hooks a thumb towards the roof of the house. "She threw it at some villagers..." A few demons come out from different places, one from an alleyway, another from behind what used to be what appears to be a fruit store. And the third from a rooftop. They all stop in front of Sol'Vak, turn and face Flint, nod, and then kneel before Sol'Vak. Sol'Vak grins, "I trust you have good news gentlemen?" The demon from the alleyway nods. "Yesss commander. We've obliterated the forssesss in the south. The demon from behind the fruit store adds similarly "Aye ssir. We've destroyed the Easstern sside of the ssity. The demon from the rooftop adds "The wessst is desssstroyed." Sol'Vak nods. "Excellent. Collect the rest of the demons. Wipe out any and all survivors, if you feel you've missed something, ask the bird to smell out the city for live ones." All three demons stand with a salute and move to comply. Sol'Vak turns to Flint. "The demons will be done shortly, lead on towards our accomodations for the evening."

Flint nods and turns back toward the church walking slowly next to Sol'Vak while Stonefire bounds ahead of them keeping his nose alert for any survivors. Flint glances around, feeling a human's mind near by, she unhooks her staff and holds it ready. Stonefire drops back as well and nods slightly towards the remains of a stone house. Flint glances at Sol'Vak before creeping up to the wall, leaping around it and grabbing a terrified teenage girl by the arm and dragging her, screaming out into the open. " Do you wish to do the honours Stonefire? Or shall I? " Stonefire just grunts and sits down. Flint grins and turns back to the girl who through all of this had been cursing and jerking to try to get away. Flint brings her staff up and stabs it into the girl's chest so as to just nick the lung then sends a very small bolt of lightning through her so as to make sure she died, just very slowly. Flint drops her whimpering to the ground and continues walking toward the church, not so much as glancing back at the others.

Sol'Vak nods and pauses as she kills the human girl without remorse. He continues following her until they reach the church. Something was wrong. The body-count in the main room was fine. But there was something nagging at Sol'Vak. He looks around, he walks up behind the altar and could swear he could smell sweat. He looks down and notices a trapdoor. "Ah-HA!" He drops to the floor and using a burst of energy blows the trapdoor and the surrounding floor inwards. It was dark. Sol'Vak holds up hit left arm and a fireball begins rotating around it. There had been humans here... There were boot scuffs in the thick layer of dust on the ground. He holds his arm up like a torch and calls out. "Eh. Flint!? You might wanna see this!" He then stands back to leave room for her to enter.

Flint walks over to where the trap door had been and drops down next to Sol'Vak. Stonefire jumps in on her other side and grunts. " Hhmmph...humans...." Flint nods and glances down the narrow tunnel that the humans had gone through. " Yes....The trail looks to be about an hour old. " She grins, smelling their fear, More scared idiots. " Shall we follow it or wait for the demons? "

"They've done their fair share of killing, and they know their next orders. We'll continue without them." Sol'Vak moves hastily down the tunnel, the sweep of his cloak making the dust slide around. He approaches a fork in the tunnel and sees that the main area had been swept clean. He looks around and then begins peering down the tunnels. "This isn't a crypt... It's a labyrinth..." He looks down towards one tunnel and notes the humans passage, but he also notes claw marks in the wall. "D'you ever get the feeling that your prey is being hunted by else than you?" He continues down the tunnel and notes movement marks made by something other than human feet... "Fools! I should've Known! Their escape tunnel is a Manticore's lair..." Sol'Vak continues forward and Flint soon sees what made him take this decision. A decapitated human corpse, claw marks on the chest and fore-arm, and a single rather large red dot on the forehead. "Hm. We'll kill it, and kill them if it hasn't already... Because, I don't know about you, but I don't want something sneaking up on me while we sleep."

Flint and Stonefire nods. " So what is this creature anyway? " She kneels down and examines a corpse, it was like nothing she had ever seen before. Stonefire pads a little further down the tunnel and sniffs. He gallops back to Flint. " It's close...keep your guard up. " Flint nods and pulls her staff out once again. " Alright...how close? " " I'm not sure. "

It was bad, just... bad.. When Wolf and the small company he had been given arrived at the town formerly run by Duke Rasolan, things had been worse than expected... The place was gutted byond recognition, bodies scattered everywhere and buildings blown apart. There was the smell of demons everywhere, not to mention Sol'Vak's demonic scent. Another pair had added themselves to the herd also, but Wolf couldn't tell who or what they were... "I'm going to explore the area," Wolf said, turning around amost as soon as he had gotten to the gate, "you guys do what you need to.." He left the area quickly, heading for the nearest town to this one, that was likely to be the next target...

Sol'Vak drops both daggers from his sleeves and begins spinning them. "Hm. Good god, he's right. I can smell it from here." It smelled like human flesh and blood. Sol'Vak threw a fireball down the tunnel and it lit up the walls, he quickly replaces it with another around his arm. The one flying down the tunnel lights up a scene of grotesque carnage. Men, women, children, slain. Confused expressions. Each possessing the tell-tale signs of a manticore attack, claws and a red dot where they'd been hit by the tail. The fireball is snuffed out quickly by a sharp movement from a ways away down the tunnel. The manticore's sharp snapping of jaws could be heard clearly as it echoed through the tunnel. A quick snap like that of a whip was heard and Sol'Vak's eyes grow wide. "GET DOWN!" He drops to his stomach and an instant afterwards a needle buzzes over his head. "Now I'm glad I took that semester of Mystic Creatures. Damn wizards Never Know when to stop ******** with nature!" Sol'Vak jumps up and moves against the wall, the orb of fire still clearly lighting their surroundings. Sol'Vak realizes this and cuts the flame. Pulling his hood down a little to conceal his glowing eyes. The glow adjusts to purple and he looks down the tunnel towards the beast. It grunts, snorts, and then begins galloping towards the trio. Sol'Vak's left arm glows blue momentarily and he slams it into the ground. From wall to wall behind Sol'Vak the ground freezes. And then upon second thought Sol'Vak melts the patches of ice directly around Flint and Stonefire. Hoping his plan would work as the manticore rushes towards them.

Liarzax meanwhile was out atop the Deformed Castle like structure he had chosen as his base, finaly suited up in the same armour as was seen in Sol'Vak's dream he stood out atop the balcony that overlooked the hundred's of thousand's of Soldiers and war machinery standing at the ready.

With nothing but a hand raised he drew the attention off all the minds below him "My breatheren! it is high time we struck, for vengence and to reclaim the land we were once denied and then thrown out of!" Liarzax roared and thrust his fist into the air, the legions of soldiers below him mimicing his action. Pleased with the reaction he smirked and crossed his arms over his chest as the men below him stood at attention.

From behind Liarzax apeared Cyndal who silently floated over to his Lord who lowerd his head slightly. "My lord, report from the watchers has come, Sol'Vak is proving more usefull then we anticipated". "Good... and Galen?" "Simply watch and see...." announced Cyndal and waved an arm out before the troops below, to the far backs of each battalion of demons/feinds/war machinery/lizzards/dragons and other unmentionable horrors that only this dark land could spawn burst forth a light that even from that distance caused Liarzax to slide down the clear slits he used to protect his eyes and Cyndal to cover his own.

Once the light had dimmed, the horrizon behind the dark army Liarzax had brought together began to weaver, as if the ground itself was seeping fumes into the air, "All is going acording to plan" said Cyndal, "yes... despite Galen's failure, he indeed held true to his word and delivered... this is most pleasing" Hissed Liarzax in reply, then lifted his head to call back the attention of the figures below who were turning to see what has come forth...

Stonefire and Flint leap to opposite sides of the tunnel as the Manticore leaps at them. It growls as it lands on the ice and slips, falling to it's knees while sliding all over trying to regain balance. Stonefire glances at Flint, nods and then gallops out onto the ice, using his claws as anchors. He loops around the manticore while Flint keeps it's mind occupied with her thoughts. " Pssst! Up here you stupid beast! " She calls in its mind, making it seem like there's somthing above it. As the Manticore looks up confusedly Stonefire lunges at it's legs, powerful jaws closing on it's right forleg and crushing it's bones. The manticore screams and throws Stonefire off it's leg. He flys through the air and lands with a thud against the wall, sliding to the ground where he lays motionless. The Manticore raises it's tail, getting ready to fire a spine at Stonefire. Flint yells, leaps at the beast, landing on its back and driving her staff into the base of it's tail. It screams a horrible scream, firing all its tail spikes in all directions including at Flint. She slows the spike with her mind long enough for her to leap off the creature's back. The spike continues flying at regular speed and sinks into the back of the manitcore's head, stunning it. The beast looks around confusedly, standing with it's tail dragging, it's crushed leg hanging useless, and now seemingly, losing it's senses. Flint quietly creeps over to Stonefire and keels beside him, letting Sol'Vak finish off the Manticore.

Sol'Vak claps his hands together as if to knock loose dust. "Well, that was easier than I expected... Excellent work evading all those tail-spines Flint!" He motions towards a mudwall he'd raised when he saw Flint raise her staff towards the tail. It crumbles leaving several of the poisonous spines on the ground, oozing a greenish goo. He turns towards the further end of the cave, the smell of human flesh and blood mixing with the smell of poison. The manticore growls as if to prove it's still a threat and then falls over dead. Sol'Vak ignores the growl but his eyes light up as he hears the Whump of the manticore hitting the ground. Sol'Vak's eyes glint and he looks down both ends of the tunnel again. "I have a theory about this manticore..." He puts two fingers to his lips and lets loose a shrill whistle. Shortly thereafter Karee rips through the ground and a bit of rubble falls around as she drops to the ground nearby. She was Almost too big for the tunnel, she had to squeeze her wings in and duck her head a little. "Kurrrrah?" "Yes. D'you smell anything odd?" Karee sniffs the air and acquires a look of extreme disgust as she looks around. Sol'Vak lights up another fireball on his hand, illuminating the corpses and the sort. Karee eyes them with a look of disdain and then sniffs the air again. "Kraw!" "That would be what I thought..." Karee bounces up and down excitedly for an instant before hitting her head on the tunnel ceiling and making a noise that sounded almost like Bird Cursing. She stops, rubs at her head with one wing and then begins a headlong dash back towards the four-way intersection. Upon arriving back at the intersection she turns back to the three tunnels. She turns around a couple of times looking at all three and runs down the one Flint, Sol'Vak, and Stonefire, had not taken. Sol'Vak pants as he reaches the intersection and he looks about for one second before noting the fading light down one tunnel. "This way..." He begins trailing after Karee again. Karee stops in the middle of one tunnel and Sol'Vak slides to a halt, nearly falling on his face but leaving skid marks in the dust on the ground. Karee looks a bit confused and begins pecking at the floor and the walls. One of the blocks she hits on the wall to the right makes a hollow clunking sound. Sol'Vak motions her away from the wall. "Allow me." He steps forward and puts his arm to the wall. He blows it in and inside is a room full of treasure. Sol'Vak arches an eyebrow and looks down the tunnel, launching the fireball he's holding, using Karee as a source of light. It flies down and down and down and down until there's a wall of spikes, followed by what appears to be a trip-wire. One that Sol'Vak's not sure he wants to find out what does. He turns and steps into the room of treasure. It was amazing. Treasure in the corners piled from floor to ceiling. Golden birds, neckelaces, amulets, even some gem-studded blades. Sol'Vak grins and steps back out. Karee begins drooling and lunges for the room, Sol'Vak grabs her beak and turns her face quickly to his own. "The girl and her Wolf pick First." Karee blinks a couple of times and lets out a long sigh. "Kurrrrah?" "No. Stop talking like that. "Cah Crah Kurrah...." Sol'Vak frowns. "Shut up Bird!" Karee snorts and bobs her head up and down mockingly. Sol'Vak growls.

Flint peers into the treasure room, her eyes widening. " Incredible. " Stonefire grunts his agreement and says teasingly " You always were a sucker for jewels... " Flint laughs. " And so were you, need i remind you of that year in Varlin? " At this Stonefire just growls and pads into the room staring around in what appears to be the wolf version of wonder. He begins nosing through a pile of treasure with as much intrest as if he were stalking his prey. He pulls his head out with a golden jeweled harness, that appears to be made out of some shimering magical fiber, cluched in his jaws. It has a larger blue-green gem attached to the chest strap that seems to have some kind of magical property about it. Flint shakes her head at him and wanders the room not touching anything except with her mind. She stops in front of a small pile in the far corner. Peering closly she finds a gold handle sticking out, she grasps it and pulls. Flint gasps, for she now holds the golden twin to her very own silver staff, the only difference being the metal and that her staff has a sparking black and purple orb and this one has a glowing white light filled orb. She frowns and puts the staff back, picking up a black and purple mixed stone amulet. Flint looks over to find Stonefire staring at her. " What? You don't actually expect me to take the staff do you? It was probably made by Angels, or some other disgusting creatures. "

Sol'Vak shrugs and tosses Karee a few emeralds from the pile, which she immediately snaps up. He peruses through the pile of gold trinkets and not seeing anything he really likes begins poking through another pile. He withdraws a sheath full of silver studded steel throwing knives. With a grin he pockets them and continues poking around. He decides none of the rest of it is really that worth keeping and begins shoveling it all into an odd pouch. Seemingly the same one the demon presented him with. "Now, the reason I gave you all first dibs is because I'm going to let the demons take first pick when we get back to the Citadel." Sol'Vak finishes scooping the last of the gold pieces into the bag and puts it back under his cloak. "You go ahead and take the lead back towards the citadel. I'll meet you back there... I need to have a Discussion with my bird."

Flint grins and raises an eyebrow, but says nothing and begins walking off back the way they had come with Stonefire trailing behind her. When they get to the Manticore's body Stonefire stops and stares at it. " We shouldn't leave this here. " Flint nods. " You deal with it this time though. " Stonefire steps up to the corpse with a dark look in his eyes and within moments the corpse disintigrates to red dust. Flint taps the dust with her staff and with a slight purple flash it disappears, sucked into an abyss somwhere. They continue further until they get to the hole in the church floor. Flint glances up to find all fifteen demons staring down at her. She looks back in her memory for what her mother taught her of demon speak and growls. " You're Commander will meet us here in a few minutes. Now if you don't mind moving out of my way so I can come up there. " The demons look slightly supprised that she can speak to them but simply nod and step back to let her and Stonefire up. Flint wanders around for a while before finally seating herself on the floor with Stonefire as her constant companion.

It had been about a day since they had arrived at Raseal and they were just about done. The town was in utter shambles, houses burned, bodies scattered about, as far as they could tell, only the man that had escaped to tell the king had gotten out alive. The duke was also dead, although none could tell the cause, seemingly he had died in his sleep, totaly unaware of what had happened. There had still been no sign of the wolf-eared boy since he had left, they would have to leave without him, a fact the king would most likely be displeased with.. The soldier sighed, they had little news to report, other than what the man and boy had already said, all they could do now was hope for the best... It was several hours later, when the troup was packed up and about to leave, that they got a supprise visit, Earth had returned with a grave look on his face.

"It's worse than I had thought," he said, falling in step with the lead man, "Patrina's gone too..." It seemed Sol'Vak had moved faster than Wolf had first thought, he must have restocked on his runes somewhere... "They're likely in Meribia at this moment, or at least on their way. We must make great haste if we are to n** this in the bud.."

Under Earth's urgings, they picked up the pace, covering ground quickly and stopping to rest seldom. With the extra effort, they made excelent time, reaching the capital in about two days.. The king was, at best skeptical of Earth's news that Meribia had most likely been taking, along with Patrina. "Lad," said the somewhat old man sitting on the throne, "there is simply no way that this group could move so quickly, they-" A soldier steped through the large doors at the front of that hall, clearing his throat, "Sir, there is a small group from Meribia, claming that their town was attacked by demons.."
