i remember ella enchanted being good. i read it a long time ago. i have the movie on vhs. i liked the movie...
the da vinci code has the same ideas as the movie "national treasure". i loved that movie, it was so cool! the dvc is probably going to be a good movie but the book will probably be better. as always books are usually better.
i read go ask alice awhile ago but i have to read it again over the summer for school.
a tree grows in brooklyn is another one of my summer reading books. how is it? my friend told me it was a bit boring.

Please do not even compare Da Vinci Code to National treasure. Da Vinci code did not have "Similiar ideas to National Treasure". National Treasure was a terrible American Rip off of the Da Vinci Code. The Da Vinci Code is actually BELIEVEABLE and plausable and had facts backing up everything that was going on. I can't even begin to describe how much National Treasure was ripped off of Da Vinci Code and it makes me sick that Americans got joy from that movie. Ella Enchanted the movie sucked compared to the book. It was once again an embarrassment to the lierate world.

the book, ella enchanted, was probably better. like i said before i read it a long time ago so i don't remember clearly. whoa chloe i can see this beginning to happen burning_eyes evil you seem angry stressed ok, then which one came first, national treasure or the da vinci code book? both stories are about people trying to find something, whether it treasure or the grail, by uncovering clues that lead to other clues and finally at the end, the end is not what it seems and they have to rethink it. well in national treasure they had to lie about it to get the bad guys to leave. how is national treasure unbelievable? their clues were from historical facts.

Becuase it is impossible to steal the declaration of indepndence like that. They wouldn't just leave it alone when cleaning it would be alone at no time at all. The Da Vinci code was first. And in the Da Vinci code they had to lie as well. All of the Four main Members of the Priory of Sion died saying the same thing leading the "bad guys" to go to a church where they dug up a scripture with JOB 38:11 wich in the bible says "Hitherto Shalt Thou Come, But No Further". The Four Main members died protecting the secrets of the holy grail. information that has been around for centuries such as the "so called national treasure". I find National Treasure to be impossibly believed because

They said the map was on the back of the original Declaration of Independence. What they had was an Original copy of the declaration of independence. The original copy of the Declaration was thrown out due to the inconvienence and carelessness of just hanging it up in a window causing the parchment to decay and make in impossibly unreadable. Americans (thank god) learned from their mistakes and protected the next thing to original they had left. the Masons did not intend on the original declaration to be destroyed like that. They would not put a map on the back of every single declaration they made. It was a secret they wanted to keep hidden.

Even though the movie was like the Da Vinci Code they got a lot of their ideas from the prequel to the Da Vinci Code called Angels & demons where they pointed out that the 'shining delta' has nothing to do with what is on the currency as well. Although the movie National Treasure seems really clever, i personally feel that the blantent obvious rip off of Da Vinici Code and Angels & Demons is embarassing and painfully obvious that we, americans could not find a better way to create our own theories.
Similarities between the two that make it obvious:

1) The Priory of Sion are turned to the Masons
2) Both were on "adventures" before they recieved factual information from a dead guy. Robert Langdon had always been studying and researching the Topic of the holy grail long before his fateful night at the Louvre. Nicholas Cage's character had been looking for the national treasure for a long time as well.
3) In the Da Vinci Code Sophie Nevue had been "training" for the adventure of finding the Grail since she was a child. Ben Gates had been told as a Child about the National Treasure.
4) Both "Treasures" are believed to be mythocal and seem to have "disappeared off the face of the earth".
5) Both resort to blantantly obvouis places on earth where there might be clues. eg) da Vinci Code: the Louvre in PAris where they pay refuge to many of the paintings suck as the Mona Lisa and other Works of art. From there they go to many places in France such as the Depository Bank of Zurich. In National Treasure they go to things such as the National Archives, and the Liberty Bell.
6) Tag Lines for the movie were "The greatest adventure history has ever revealed." "In order to break the code, one man will have to break all the rules." "The clues are right in front of your eyes." All things that were said in and about the Da Vinci Code.

National treasure used historical act and twisted them. It is not a historical fact that the masons had treeasure and his it in the Americas, its a historical Myth. If you believe that their is a national treasur where they said it is then why hasn't everyone rushed off to uncover it? The Da Vinci Code however is more believeable in the sense that the Holy grail is not stationary in a single place. If a treasure was buried in a single place then why would it have taken so long for them to discover it? I would be happy to point out anything else if you wish to here it.
