Lonan listened to Elle's directive, following her motions for the most part. He was still a bit unsure about being around all these individuals at once. Shopping was a test at the best of times, but he wasn't so similar in construct that he was overwhelmed by the emotions.
These like him, they were a much more clear path. He made it a point to keep his concern from Elle, not wanting to sopil her good spirits. Being around these others in the warm air seemed to make her happy. Far be it form him to deny her that.
An odd feeling on the back of his wing momentarily caught his attention. Then it moved and fluttered up to the nape of his neck. Ah, a hungry butterfly had discovered Elle's decorations. He stayed perfectly still while it filled itself before flying off.

After Shauna watched silently from the tree she was hiding behind the tree. She was still trying to figure out how to get over there without Ror, Miss Akina, Chuu and Brimstone finding her and greeting her before she could surprise Lonan. Maybe she should just run out as fast as she can and just pounce on him...but there was still that risk.
Bah! What was life without risks! With a determined smile, Shauna pushed herself up to her feet and stretched her legs out a bit. She'd have to be quick and silent for this. The fox girl took her hair out of the two braids it was in--the braids hitting her body would make too much noise--to quickly put them up in a tight bun behind her head. Getting into position to just take off, Shauna looked the group over once more before taking off.
Shauna put a finger to her lips to let the others know to stay quiet, winking at them as she ran before suddenly pouncing and glomping Lonan from behind and between his wings. She was careful not to harm the flowers. "Hi Lonan~!" She chirped happily, giggling. She hoped she didn't give the poor man a heart attack.

Lonan didn't shout with surprise or strike out. He'd been knocked forward onto his knees with his wings snapping out and upward instinctively. A rush of air and petal was the result of that move.
When mind caught up with instinct Lonan found himself on his knees, wings out like he was warding off some overgrown predator, eyes wide, arms tense and he was panting slightly. Only then did his fogged brain connect that the little fox he'd met the previous fall was not so little anymore.
"Hel... hello, Shauna." He couldn't help that he tripped over his voice at first. His heart was pounding a mile a minute. And there was a vague sense of unease at the back of his mind.
Realizing that Elle would probably be able to tell he wasn't as calm as he let on he clamped down on that little annoyance quickly enough. Next, get the heart to stop pumping like a thoroughbred's after the Derby.

Oh, what a beautiful day! So peaceful, so fresh. Such days were rarity, few, precious gems that had to be coddled and protected and...and...? "APPLES!" So much for peaceful. Gilles watched his mother dart from tree to tree, shaking the branches and hoping for fruit. He didn't have the heart to tell her that none of the apples, which were only the size of a ping-pong ball, were ready to eat yet. He was nestled safely in the branches of a low-lying tree, carefully remaining in the shade. Beneath his feet, Mr. Hoppo was nibbling on a blade of grass, his ducky umbrella next to him.
"Chikara, I want--" He started, but he realized it was useless. He knew his mother in this mood, and talking would be as fruitless as the trees. Sighing, he swung his feet out from under him and onto the ground, picking up his umbrella and Mr. Hoppo. "I'm going!" He called to his mother, getting a strangled war cry by way of response. He opened the umbrella and trekked through the trees, and then...
People.
Gilles stopped dead in his tracks. His first instinct was to run back and drag his mother away from these innocents, to protect them from bodily harm. He squashed that thought with a few mental shakes, and retreated behind a tree, seemingly unaware that his bright yellow and orange umbrella was in plain view, and that his rabbit was currently in front of the tree, washing its private parts.

Elle took a step back as Shauna hurtled onto the scene...almost as startled as Lonan. Shaking her head as the lass pounced the winged lad, she covered her relieved smile with one hand.
Kids!!
Well, two could play at that game. One hand snuck around to cover Shauna's eyes, guiding her gently back, and Elle's other hand slipped under Lonan's arm to give him a graceful way back to his feet. Voice light, she pulled the fox girl gently back against her and whispered.
"Okay, my turn! Guess who?!"

The instant he felt Elle's hand on his arm he seemed to calm a great deal. Rising carefully to his feet he turned out one wing, wrapping it gently around her shoulders. Much as he wanted to appear calm and collected he was staying close to Elle's side. His prior aversion to groups a little stronger than it had been.

Holding a small plate of food, Akina and Brimstone made there way toward the shade of a large tree and took a seat at its base. Both mother and son weren't the most social of creatures, and yet, both seemed to enjoy the long-standing sport of 'people watching'.
So, as Brim poked curiously at a large strawberry, Akina grabbed a small handful of grapes and began plucking them into her mouth, quietly waiting for an opportunity to talk further to appear to her. For now, though, both Brimstone and Akina were content to just sit in silence and enjoy a detour from their daily stroll.
"Brimstone," Akina quipped, pulling the strawberry Brim had been examining from his nose. "You know that is not where food goes." The Shattered made a face at his mother, but accepted her scolding as he began to nibble at the corners of the fruit like a good little boy.
For now.

The fox giggled and gave Lonan a tender squeeze, smiling and tilting her head. "I really scared you, didn't I?" She sat down beside Lonan on the grass and made a move to turn around but was stopped by a hand covering her eyes and someone else pulling her back. Guess it was her turn to be startled! Shauna gave a startled squeal, squeezing her eyes closed until she heard a voice. Hey! She knew that voice! "...Sister Elle?!" She gasped, moving the woman's hand away from her eyes to turn and see. This woman was Elle? She looked completely different! Nonetheless Shauna still gave her a very big hug.
Her ears flicked once when she heard a faintly familiar name, looking around to spot Brimstone and Miss Akina sitting under a tree. "Heeeey! I know him!"

Mouth firmly wrapped around a large strawberry, Akina picked up on the sound of someone's voice being directed at her and Brim. Brimstone, meanwhile, was utterly oblivious and had taken to mashing the blueberries up in his hands and then licking the carnage off each digit systematically. The elf tossed blue eyes over in the direction of the sound and stopped the same fox girl who had looked so familiar to her before.
Yes, this must be the same girl who both she and Brim had met all those many months ago in the park. Akina blushed slightly, hoping that the evolved Shattered would not remember how Brim had grabbed at her tail rudely. She smiled lightly at Shauna, not really sure what to do, and tried desperately to remember the girl's name.
Oh well, the fox girl seemed busy with the other Shattered for now anyway. Perhaps she would not even come over?
Dropping her gaze back to Brimstone, Akina tried to wipe some of the gunk off of his face and hands with a napkin, but all of her attempts seemed futile. While she wiped down one hand, he would be smushing another handful of blueberries with his other.
Sighing, Akina gave up for now and decided to just take heart in the fact that her son was finally eating after months of anorexia.

The problem with pets is that often they get ideas, and when they get ideas, they often go astray. For example: when Mr. Hoppo was done washing his privates, and was sure that his tinkle was squeaky clean, he decided that hey, that kid with the black skin and freaky scary eyes looks like a perfect person to go sniff! Let's go right now! Mr. Hoppo scampered up to Brim, his black button eyes curious, and gave the boy a few quick sniffs, his fur fluffed up.
Gilles was still hiding at this point, but could see that Mr. Hoppo was no where to be found. He debated with himself for a moment, then decided that the well-being of his rabbit was more important than his need to remain hidden. He dashed out from behind the tree, his umbrella flailing behind him, calling for the rabbit. "Mr. Hoppo? Mr. Hoppo! Where did you go?" Gilles soon realized that he couldn't find his rabbit. Where was Mr. Hoppo!? Gilles couldn't live without his furry-tailed friend! They were bosom buddies, forever and ever until the world flipped upside down!
So where was the stupid rabbit?

Brimstone, halfway through another handful of smushed blueberries, noted the presence of a small... thing sniffing at him. "Huh?" the Shattered questioned, spewing a few bits of blueberry out of his mouth. He wrinkled up his nose and pulled at Akina's sleeve, jutting a blue digit at the small intruder. "Whassat?" he slurred curiously.
Sitting up, Akina looked down at the small bunny, grabbing a carrot off of her plate and offering it to the mammal. "It's a bunny, B," Akina explained, hoping the rabbit would take her vegetable offering.

Mr. Hoppo eyed the carrot warily. He was growing tired of carrots. Everyone gave him carrots. He much prefered celery or lettuce, but carrots were always offered. Mr. Hoppo was not a rude rabbit, however, and thus he nibbled on the end of the carrot politely, and let out a questioning chatter.
Gilles heard Mr. Hoppo chattering, and swung around a tree to look. There was the rabbit, munching on a bright orange carrot. "Mr. Hoppo!" Gilles cried, dashing over to the fluffy critter. "Why did you run off? I can't find Chikara now, and there are people everywhere!" He wasn't upset at the bunny, really, only a little distressed. He scooped up the protesting rabbit with one hand and glanced up at the woman. "Hullo. Thank you for finding Mr. Hoppo. He gets lost a lot." Gilles was uncomfortably aware at times like these of his tail and horns, which were no doubt protruding dangerously close to the woman's face. He took a few steps back to give her some room, his umbrella swung loosely over one shoulder.

Smiling to herself as the rabbit began to nibble on the carrot, Akina glanced up at the entrance of a new figure. She could sense the same connection that tied Brim to Shauna and Elle and Lonan also moving through the child who stood before her. He must be one of... whatever they all are, she reasoned internally.
Inching back from the horns, Akina smiled up at Gilles as he spoke, offering a polite, "I believe it was Mr. Hoppo who found us." Peering past Akina and the rabbit, Brimstone examined the new kid, wondering if this was a potential new playmate. Despite his bipolar tendencies, Brimstone was still a kid who just wanted to have fun, though his idea of fun wasn't always the same as others.
"Brimstone!" declared Brim, pointing to himself in an introduction. The elf was surprised that her son had actually bothered to introduce himself at all. Usually, he just let her do it.
"And I'm Akina," the elf finished. Glancing about, she didn't see anyone who appeared to be searching for a child, but she wasn't about to leave this child alone. "Did you say you were lost? If you'd like, I could help you find your guardian."

Gilles blushed furiously when the woman smiled at him and muttered, "I'm sorry if he bothered you." Bad Mr. Hoppo! He scolded, hoping that the rabbit could pick up on his brain-waves, like they did on television. Stealing these peoples' carrots! Gilles started when Brimstone introduced himself, but replied, "Hello, Brimstone! And Akina." He added quickly.
Gilles fought down a trace of alarm when Akina mentioned that she wanted to help him find Chikara. He didn't want these nice, unscarred people anywhere near Chikara. Gilles was stuck firm in the belief that he was the only one who could deal with her. "Uh...no. I'm okay. Sometimes she goes away, but she comes back." Quick, Gilles, change the subject! "What're those things?" He asked, pointing to the berries that Akina and Brim had been eating.

Once again, Brimstone seemed to take the situation by the horns, much to Akina's continued surprise. "Smushberries," came Brim's fast reply as he crushed another handful of blueberries in his grasp. "Who are you?" Brim's youth gave him a certain tendency toward asking abrupt and often rude questions, though he usually remained silent.
For once taking the backseat, the elf allowed Brimstone to interact of his own accord, pleased that her son was being a little bit social. Maybe there was hope for him yet?
